It took me a while to reach a decision to purchase this brand of Lanolin because I wanted it to be of good quality and I am very happy that I chose this brand. It's 100% pure and natural, unprocessed Lanolin which has a slight scent reminiscent of being from Real Sheep. So far I have used it to heal my sore lips as well as to heal very painful finger splits in only 2 days; whereas nothing else worked even though some skin preparations were much, much more expensive. In order to get the best results from the lanolin treatment I applied this on all my fingers at night just before going to sleep and then I put on oversized, brown jersey gloves which I kept on overnight. I'm very happy with the results.

When I saw all the reviews regarding the smell, I was a little concerned; though, having many Irish wool sweaters in the family, as well as using wool wash for my knits, I am no stranger to the smell of lanolin. That being said, from the reviews I assumed that the smell would be extremely pungent! I just want everyone to know that it honestly is not bad at all—it just has a hint of that “barnyard” smell. With lanolin literally being the oil produced by sheep, I honestly don’t know why so many people were surprised by the smell; it’s almost like complaining that mead tastes like honey. But, I digress! I have extremely sensitive skin and for the past year or so I have found that I have developed a reaction to beeswax—specifically when it comes to lip balms. I’ve only been wearing this lanolin for a little over 24hrs now, and I can already tell a considerable difference! My lips feel incredibly soft and retain their moisture for a substantially longer time than other balms (and let it be noted that I currently have bronchitis and have been blowing my nose a ton and drinking lots of fluids). It has the consistency of a super thick honey, or a sticky wax. I appreciate that it’s a natural remedy for my skin issues, and the smell doesn’t bother me one bit! It’s more evident upon first application, but fades quickly. Definitely recommend!

This works wonderfully well on my dry hands. A couple caveats: It smells like sheep or, vaguely, barnyard animals. And at first applying it to skin it feels sticky. So 5 stars if you don’t mind the smell of wool. 1 if you don’t. My experience is, people either don’t mind (some even like!) the smell of wool, or else they hate it. Not a lot of middle ground. I don’t mind the smell of wool, for me it’s not not baa-aa-aad (sorry not sorry). The wool smell does fade quickly. The stickiness also goes away quickly too; rub it in for a half a minute, that will help immensely. If you are OK with the smell of wool I think the skin moisturizing properties of this lanolin will work well for you. Work it in your skin for a little bit and your skin will sigh in relief.

I read the reviews, I scoffed at them. I thought, "surely this cannot smell like a barnyard?" it does. VERY natural, very earthy. I now use it as foot cream only (wrapped up in socks) and it is so incredibly moisturizing. I wake up with feet that are like NEW. I wouldn't use it elsewhere on my body due to the smell, but the stuff works wonders.

I bought this product because I have a periodic heat rash on my neck. When it goes away, it leaves my skin super dry and crepey looking. I use lotions, but they don’t seem to work. After using it for one day, my neck has become less red and blotchy. I still have a few really dry areas, and I reapply the lotion to soothe those areas. I may be giving this 5 stars prematurely, but nothing I’ve used thus far has helped this quickly. My only complaint is the initial smell, which is slightly barnish (comes from a sheep, so I expected something), but the smell lessens as the minutes go by. Or I just get used to it. I would recommend this to anyone who is struggling with a rash or really dry skin. Just be aware others may smell you and wonder!

I’ve got the worst chapped, peeling, bleeding, painful lips from an autoimmune condition and medications. This purchase was a last ditch effort to heal my lips, after trying anything and everything else. Not only did it work, it performed a minor miracle in two days. TWO DAYS. Not a hint of peeling or cracking for a month now. Idkw people complain about the smell - it smells like an Irish fisherman sweater, because it’s full of natural lanolin from wool. Apply bf sleep and it’ll still be working when you wake up. Also, I appreciate the company not using “nipple” on the label, as my jar is always on a coffee table or countertop and people would have questions. Very thick and gooey which is why it stays on, but can be combined with appropriate essential oils.

I love this salve! I use it on my chapped lips in the winter and also skin cracks on my fingers. I have also used it on our doodle for razor burns after her grooming. We had a cold February and I would use a dab on my face for protection against the wind when doing chores outside. A little goes a long way.
