I have a 2024 Aiper Surfer S2 skimmer, a 2024 Scuba S1(no internet/no ultra fine filter) and now this 2025 Scuba S1 and they are all incredible in terms of performance and reducing my time cleaning my pool. I am my own pool guy and do everything myself and these tools are worth every last penny I paid for them. I live in the SoCal high desert where dust and pollen (from my neighbors 100 Acre Woods recreation upwind from me) are a massive issue. I used to have a side suction cleaner connected to my pool 24/7/365, but it was such a headache and never cleaned the bottom 100% no matter how long it ran.... so many missed areas. When I bought my 2024 Aiper Scuba S1 (without the ultra fine filter) I was able to remove the side suction vacuum completely and just use the robot in conjunction with my pool's main filter and run both together so that the dust and pollen that would go right through the robot's filter and out the exhaust into the water column would then stand a chance at getting picked up by my main filter system. That had worked well, but after a few days of massive winds, there was just too much dust and pollen to remove that way and it would then just settle on the bottom where I would have to manually vacuum it up...... that is until this 2025 Aiper Scuba S1 with its new ultra fine filter! From above, my pool looked crystal clear when I threw in Mr. 2025 S1 for his maiden dive and I have included pictures of what he removed on his initial 3:31 minute bottom only mode run. The once white ultra fine filter is now brown... like mud brown! It is simply next level what it removed. I did not run my main filter system at the same time, as I wanted all of the dust that I could not even see from the surface to remain on the bottom and not get blown into the water column by the return jets of my main filter. I now have 2 bottom robots to use back to back on the horrific spring and fall days where every leaf in the housing tract lands in my pool. On those days I will not use the ultra fine filter, just the standard filter.... I plan to use the ultra fine filter exactly how I did today about once per week for normal maintenance. Also, this 2025 version connects to the app where you can see the battery life while it's charging as well as select the mode if you want (you can also do it on the front panel which is how I will always do it), but the main thing you can do with the app is update the firmware if Aiper makes improvements in the future.... my 2024 version can not do this. It does not connect to the internet when under water and there is no way to control it once under. I will update this review for the good or bad if anything pops up!

This product doesn't hold battery for long. It also struggles climbing from the deep part of the pool to the shallow side. It actually "thinks" that when transitioning from the deep end to shallow end it is climbing a wall and if it is not set to wall cleaning, it will turn around getting stuck in the deep end until it runs out of battery. When setting to the ECO setting, it does clean one time but it never finishes because it runs out of battery. I let it on this setting on a Thursday and on Thursday night the "out of battery" light was on, I left it in the pool to see if it will start again in 48 hours, as the manual states for tis setting, but nothing, the thing was dead in the water. Returning the item and hoping I don't have issues taking it back. One good thing is that it cleans well and I would keep it if it did not have the issue with the battery. Also the design is pretty cool. The point of having this is to set and forget kind of thing, but it is not working as intended. My pool is a free-form pool one 32 feet long and 14 fee wide on the widest part, the deep end is only 7 feet and the shallow end is about 4 feet, so it is not a big pool.

So far I’ve been very happy with this pool cleaner. I love that it’s wireless but still very effective at cleaning. Once you get your pool all cleaned up, this guy will do the job in one cleaning no problem. A few things to note: - I found that my unit would not charge to a full 100% no matter what I did. I had to go through a few steps to get it to 99%, but it would never hit 100% no matter how long I charge it. I contacted customer service who basically said “it’s fine” and just a flaw that has no impact to the unit…. I’m skeptical but they did document my issue and the cleaner has been working perfectly fine otherwise. Pros: + has long battery life. Goes even longer when you remove the micro filter, and the suction is better then too. + still does a great job with the micro filter in. Doesn’t compromise wall climbing or cause it to do wheelies. But be weary that the micro filter will get “full” without you even noticing or the basket being full. It picks up a ton of dirt. So be sure to clean it regularly, especially if the unit starts not climbing walls. + climbs walls with ease + does a great job along the water line on the tiles + amazing coverage in one clean. I would consider my pool the gauntlet of pools for cleaner robots. It’s large with curves and curvy steps across the whole thing. And this climbs them all well and even cleaned steps and shelves for me. The app really only tells you how charged up it is when it’s out of the pool and plugged in, and helps you set which cleaning mode you want once powered on before you put it in the pool. That’s it. So don’t expect a lot of app functions there, but it is nice to have. All in all I’ve been very happy with the unit so far. I love not having cords or hoses in the pool which can also block my skimmer pool bot. It does a great job and was less expensive than some less effective corded dolphin units. Time will tell how it holds up, including the battery life. But I’m happy with initial review.
