Excellent pool cleaner, everything I could ask for. The pool is in top shape, going cordless is the ONLY way. The unit does have some weight, I definitely suggest getting a pool caddy. But with the weight and power, it does not get constantly stuck on the bottom pool filters which the last unit always did. Lastly, the micro screen is a game changer. You have to carefully hose throughly after each use because it catches everything. I say carefully because you do not want to destroy micro screen and frequently replace. This cleaner is worth the money and frees up my time without having to continually watch for danglements or being stuck on bottom filters. Multiple cleaning modes, my pool looks perfect.

If you have a large pool, DO NOT purchase this product. Our pool was clean, when we put the robot in our pool; we were hoping the robot would clean the fine sand and dirt at the bottom, which it did. But, we had to empty the basket often, hose it off and start the process again. It would be better is the basket is larger, but I'm assuming, for small pools, this is fine. Ours is very large and we do not have a cage. We also have a professional pool cleaner, so the robot was purchased to augment the cleaner's work. On DAY TWO, the robot stopped working. It would sit in the pool with the front lifted, as if it were going to clean the walls, but it never moved. We followed the directions perfectly, and we were very careful with the machine. So, we called Customer Service, and that was a debacle. We spent 45 minutes on the phone with a person who could only read from a script, and she was difficult to understand. She did nothing to resolve our issue, costing us time and money. I did not opt to get a new machine, for these reasons. I lost faith in the product and the support provided. I'm going to research something American made, with a big basket and more power. This was a complete waste. Again, if you have a large pool, I'd think twice before buying this item.

After returning TWO of the new X1’s, I decided to try the 2025 updated S1. I have not had a single issue with this unit and it is working flawlessly. The new X1 kept doing wheelies and running rogue. Having hesitation after two bad experiences with the X1, I decided to give the revised 2025 S1 a shot. Glad I did! I hate that I had to spend another $99 for a charging station, but this thing is a beast! No wheelies, no spinning…only cleaning and pickup. I have a 20’ x 40’ pebble tech coated inground pool. This thing is amazing…and I don’t have cords/lines running across my pool and getting tangled. It climbs my walls easily and even scrubs the rocks on the backside of our pool. It has no issues with my stairs or the irregular shape of our pool. I am so impressed, I added the S2 Surfer for skimming the top of my pool. Had it less than a month, hoping this thing lasts. I will update if I come across any issues, but so far so good!

Not as advertised. Gets stuck on pool drains. But does a decent job cleaning the pool floor. Seems confused trying to clean the water line.

Just the best. I had one of those pool cleaners that attached to a hose. It was so random. I remind me of that Office episode where they all wait for the icon to hit the corner perfectly. You see dirt at the bottom of the pool and you pray the stars align and the freaking vacuum hits the mark. No more. This thing is deliberate and leaves the pool perfectly swept. I also love that I don't have that hose in my pool all the time! Just a much nicer look. My only knock is the auto feature sometimes gets stuck in a spot when it starts on the walls, but that's a small problem. Highly recommend this product. Worth the expense.

Looks very nice when you get it!! But that is where it ends. The app stops working once in the pool. So why have it? The robot does not clean the walls and floors at the same time. Spent the whole 180 minutes in one corner of the pool. Recharged and tried the floor only. Gets stuck on drains, front end constantly lifts off the ground, does NOT do a semi-patterned cleaning, even when you choose that option on the app. All in all, fantastic looking. Does not work at all as described.

Click to play video Ok I was spectacle at first after reading all the reviews. I have a feeling if we didn’t have a free form pool this would have been 5 stars. I only run our robot once a week. It’s quite impressive scrubbing and cleaning the walls and tile lines. I would give that feature 5 stars. Cleaning the bottom it’s hard not to simply watch it run around. It’s has the capability to follow a pattern. It certainly attempts to, however with out a single straight line in our pool it will miss spots or run back over the same spot. I would approximate that it covers approximately 80%. Hence the 4 stars as our pool will challenge the most sophisticated and advanced robots. All in all would I recommend this robot, yes of most customers. For its price point I was hoping that its ability to track where it is in the pool might be better.

Click to play video I have always wanted to try a robotic pool cleaner. I have only used the vacuum connected via my skimmer to clean my pool. This is time consuming and sometimes it is not strong enough to pick up some items like larger, waterlogged leaves. When I saw this Aiper cordless robotic pool cleaner, I had to test it out. Based on my testing so far, I can saw that this Aiper cordless robotic pool cleaner is fantastic. First of all, it just looks great. The sleek black body and aggressive looking rubber tracks give it a tough, durable, futuristic tank-like look. Second, this pool cleaner is ready to use out of the box once it is fully charged. No app is required to run it. You can operate it with just the power button. Third, the suction on this vacuum is really good. I found it would pick up waterlogged leaves that sometimes my old school vacuum would not pick up. When I first received this pool cleaner, I thought it was going to be too big and heavy for me and my wife to use. However, once I removed it from the packaging, I was no longer concerned. The pool cleaner is 16.75" wide, 18" long, 11" high and my wife and I can easily carry it with one arms using the very strong handle on the pool cleaner. There is also a hook supplied with this pool cleaner that you can put on the end of a standard pool pole to pull the cleaner out of the water so you do not have to get in the pool or reach deep down to pull it out. Once this pool cleaner is fully charged, it is ready to go. You press the power button to turn it on, drop it in your pool and it just works. It will vacuum the pool walls and floor. You can read the excellent user manual to learn that the power button allows you to select different modes. The default mode when you first turn on the cleaner is an auto mode that cleans the walls and floor. However, you can choose other modes to clean just the floor, or just the walls, or just the waterline, or an eco mode simply by pressing the power button a different number of times to select the mode you want. Note that all of this functionality is ready to go and does not require any app on your phone. I have tested some of the other cleaning modes and here is what I found. The auto mode tells the cleaner to clean the walls and floor of the pool. The cleaner runs for about 3.25 hours in this mode. I found that this mode did a great job of cleaning my entire 14' by 28' in ground pool. The Eco modes tells the cleaner to clean your pool floor for 45 minutes every 48 hours. I found that the cleaner did indeed run for 45 minutes every 48 hours 3 times in a week. However, it did not completely cover the entire floor in my 14' by 28' in ground pool each time. Over the course of the 3 cleanings it did cover the floor, just not each time. The floor, wall, and waterline modes will clean the specified surface until the battery runs down in just over 3 hours. I was surprised by how well the waterline mode worked. The cleaner climbs up the wall, then as the tracks run up and down to hold the cleaner at the top of the wall, the cleaner somehow moves sideways along the waterline. As the cleaner encounters obstacles such as a pool ladder, it descends to the bottom, moves over a bit, then climbs the wall to continue cleaning. I have included a video showing the waterline cleaning mode. Charging time from dead to fully charged takes about 2.5 hours. I found that running the cleaner in any mode other than the eco mode will give about 3.25 hours of run time from a full charge. There are 4 main advantages I can see with using this robotic pool cleaner. First, I can have it clean the pool while I do other tasks. Second, it does not require any backwashing of my filter after cleaning so it allows me to conserve more water. Third, I can go away on vacation and set the cleaning on eco mode and it will vacuum the bottom 3 times over a week to help keep the pool clean while I am away. Fourth, it helps with the timing for closing my pool as I can have the pool drained and still use this vacuum to clean the pool if I don't get the pool completely covered in time after draining it. Because I used the manual pool vacuum that runs off of my pump, once the pool was drained below my skimmer, I could no longer clean the pool which meant I had to plan a full day of vacuuming, draining, and covering the pool. Now I can drain it and still vacuum it later if I don't have time to cover it immediately. There is an app you can install on your phone that allows you to operate the cleaner. However, this app is very basic. It allows you to see some basic information about the cleaner and select a cleaning mode once the cleaner is turned on. There is not much else you can do. I think that once you get used to changing the modes with the power button, you will not use the app at all. This is an excellent cordless, robotic pool cleaner and I would recommend it if you are looking for one of these to save you having to manually vacuum your pool.

Click to play video We have our pool closed for the season already so couldn't try this in our large pool, but gave it a trial in our soft side above ground pool. In the video you can see how much dirt this thing can pick up in one sweep. I was actually surprised at how quickly it sucked up the dirt in a single pass. When we emptied out the basket there was a lot of leaves, dirt, hairs, and other debris that it easily picked up in the filter. The basket is quite large, so this thing can go for a long time without needing to empty it out. Just be sure that you don't overfill it so as not to cause stress on the motor. You can also see how it gently detects the side walls and adjusts it's direction accordingly, while still having a lot of suction power. Seems to have great grip, and chugs along at a nice speed. We made sure that we charged it fully before use in order to ensure longer overall battery life. I would recommend following the manufacturer's directions for use to ensure that you don't wear the battery unnecessarily and decrease it's lifespan or ruin it's capability to hold a charge. The app is optional feature for it. We don't like to use apps unnecessarily so we opted to just use the robot manually. We don't get to see the cleaning stats, but honestly, I'm not sure how useful they would be anyways, given I can easily see if the pool is clean or not. Checking the battery life via the app may be helpful, however. There's a variety of settings for the cleaning mode which is fantastic if you're wanting to concentrate your cleaning to 1 area, or do a more thorough clean. You can flip between: Auto Mode (cleans the whole pool, floor and sides), Floor Mode (cleans just the floor), Waterline mode (cleans the waterline and the corners of the pool top to bottom), Eco Mode (will clean the floor 45 min, once every 48 hours for 1 week), Wall Mode (just cleans the walls). Battery life seems really good. We ran for over and hour and it still had juice left. It states it has a 180 minutes of uninterrupted cleaning, which should be more than enough for most pools. The robot is taken out via a hook which is included, however, you will need to purchase a pole separately to attach to the hook. It uses any standard pool pole (like the ones that attach to the pool skimmer nets), and amazon has many options for sale. Overall, we are very impressed with our initial use of this robot and we can't wait to use it on our large in ground next season!

Click to play video I was a little hesitant to try this product out. The Aiper Scuba S1 Pro didn’t have the greatest reviews online. I did my research and went into this review with an open mind. I was thoroughly impressed with the results. First of all, the size - this thing is a beast. It probably weighs close to 30lbs. There was no way it had the ability to clean vertical pool walls being this size (I was wrong!) Setup was a breeze, I simply took it out of its beautiful packaging, plugged it in to charge, downloaded the app, made sure I was connected to a 2.4gz network, updated the firmware and off I went. You can totally use it without the app, you just won’t have access to battery life, clean cycle count or firmware updates. Launching the bot was just as easy - press the power button, choose your cycle and drop it in the water. Initially we had chosen the auto “full” cycle which cleans floors and walls. When we launched it, it got stuck on the steps and couldn’t seem to get off of them. This is part of the reason why I’ve dropped a star. We had to change the cleaning mode to “floor only” which uses the sensors to detect when a wall is approaching. This worked perfectly. It navigated around the steps and happily went about cleaning the pool. We have quite a steep drop off from 4’ to 10’ of depth and the Scuba handled it like a champ. Overall, it did a phenomenal job at cleaning. It was able to pick up dirt, sand, leaves and even some water balloons that had fallen into the deep end from a family party last weekend. When we initially launched it on auto mode, it was very impressively able to climb the walls of the pool. It did this effortlessly. I didn’t think for a second this 30-40lb beast would be able to scale a wall. It’s a shame it wasn’t able to navigate around the steps on this mode. Perhaps with future firmware updates they’ll be able to improve this. I think what we were most impressed with was the overall battery life. I assumed after an hour, it would shut off and we’d have to retrieve it. Shockingly after 44 minutes it has only used 19% battery life. This was very surprising and by that math, we could expect nearly 4 hours of use per charge which is very impressive. Another reason I’ve dropped a star was at retrieval. I was able to easily hook the bot with the provided hook and pull it up to the surface. The motors stop as soon as it senses it’s out of the water, which is great. Unfortunately, about 40% of the junk it had collected just came pouring back out as I was pulling it out of the pool. Upon closer inspection, there’s a spring loaded door on the collection basket that was stuck open due to some debris. It’s also a tough design as you have to engineer the collection door to not have so much spring-loaded force that it can’t be opened under suction, but not so little that anything causes it to stay open. I think this is an area where a redesign should be considered. I will try it again after our next cleaning cycle and adjust the review accordingly if it works out better the next time. I’m not sure why there are some bad reviews stating the manufacturer lied because it can’t be controlled under water using the app. There’s no mention anywhere that you can use the app to control it. The app is simply used to check battery status, check run time and cleaning cycles and also download and install firmware. There is a clear alert when you connect the bot to the app that says it’ll lose connection once it’s under water. It connects via Bluetooth which is ultra low power and has no way to transmit through water. To sum everything up, we’re very happy with this little (huge) guy! It does the job as advertised. We hope the manufacturer keeps releasing updates that make it smarter and better. We also hope part availability is strong and we’re not left stranded after a couple of years. It’s an expensive purchase but the “set it and forget it” nature makes it a great addition to our summer pool family and we’d recommend it to anyone in the market!

Comes in a solid box from manufacturer, when opened the first thing you see is a contact list for users in France, Netherlands, Australia, US, and Canada. First impressions are of high quality and workmanship. Good looking machine – sleek modern, not a lot of embellishments, very sharp. We have a medium sized concrete pool, kidney shaped. Comes with a handy hook you can attach to a pool pole to retrieve the unit from bottom. Very handy It doesn’t come charged, but is easy to plug in (only fits one way) and because of the on board light indicators, it’s easy to see when it is fully charged. There is a how-to manual that you can access via a QR code but it is just a sales pitch and doesn’t tell you anything at all. The associated app to operate the Aiper was easy enough to download and install. My only frustration is the choice of colors – the use of teal or aquamarine with white makes it hard to read some of the text, especially on a brighter day. The app provides you with a variety of cleaning options… Just the floor, just the walls, just the water line to remove scum, or everything. I have not seen that kind of flexibility on my previous cleaners. It was fully charged within an hour and a half, I threw it into the pool, and it worked like a charm. You can not change any settings once it is in the pool as Bluetooth does not penetrate the water. You have to pick your cleaning options before you throw it in. When selecting the full pool option, it starts with the walls and does a decent job. Goes up and down, moving a couple of feet every time. After what I assume is a certain time or power limit, it moves to the floor. In my case, it went around 1 ½ times, then spent the remainder of the time on the bottom. One time it got stuck on the ladder to exit the pool. It hit one of the legs going up and tilted slightly, came down at an angle, so it came up and hit the same spot again and acing. A second cleaning proved issue free. The steps leading into the pool were no issue – it climbed them, retreated, and moved on. A really nice feature… one time the Aiper finished cleaning in the dark. It keeps a red light on so you can find it, and as a bonus, it moves to the side of the pool for easy extraction. Huge bonus. The Aiper cleaned the pool very well, it took about 2 hours. It seems to alternate clockwise and counterclockwise when cleaning which helps to get random areas. The dirt filter (and secondary micro filter) are sturdy and well made. Easy to clean. The primary filter was so good there was no evident material in the micro filter. Pros: Solid, well designed. Easy to use. Works well. Con: Lack of randomness means it can get stuck. Occasionally needs to be poked to move over.

With more and more of these coming in the market, saying "mid level" is a far stretch from the bottom tier. Where the basic models do a basic job, this expands on cleaning in a huge way. And yet the "higher tier" models, will show very little strength, above what this will do. Basically suggesting, that this robot pool vac, does everything you need and more. And going for anything higher priced is completely unnecessary, in my opinion. To start with, the complete package of this robot is perceptively premium, as far as material and construction quality, functionality, programmability, ease of use, and overall look and style. As the boy is put into the pool, with basic on function engaged, you just leave it to do it thing automatically. So that even the most technologically challenged can easily make their way through to having their pool sparkling clean in no time. But it also allows you to gradually learn how to use its features, without the worry of having a large anchor doing nothing. With an impressive app and included instructions and tutorials for getting the most out of your new robot, at your pace. Or, jump right in and use your experience with other vacs, to explore the entire function of the bot. While this vac can definitely handle the largest, standard in-ground pool, it is also suitable, and highly efficient for above ground round, oval, or square pools. Handling any curve, including stairs and oddities very well. And even avoids obstacles very well. Cleanup is extremely easy. With a top loaded basket filter and primary filter, that traps fine particles, as well as leaves, bugs, sand, etc. so that it is caught securely inside the basket. I have no trouble or mess during clean out of the basket. Where it's as simple as lifting the top lid, pulling out the basket and filter and empty it. Incredibly strong, it climbs the walls right up to the skin line. And on an average 15x25 pool, a single charge will have it spotless. And when it is finished, the boy will patiently wait at the pools edge to be taken out and recharged. Another lil treat is when you use this bot at night. Where the lighting effect under the water, will give your pool an awesome look as it does it's job. And with young kids, go ahead, let them name it! It's fun. And it'll seem as part of your family before long. Lol
