These perform exactly like a Brother TN-450, I can tell no change from the OEM Brother version to these with my printers. At $12 its a steal. I haven't bought any Brother toner since trying these. My 2240D low toner alert works fine, never had an issue. It goes off about 50 pages early like most printers. If your having a low toner warning issue with a full one, re-set it! Read your owners manual. Order the right cartridge for the printer! As a follow up on 7-19-12, I can still say this is a great deal. I'm on my third one and have had zero issues. My first order was for two of them, I orderd more recently and the new batch performs the same. They last well over 2,000 pages for me, I use duplex printing often so the page life is good. I leave my printer on toner saver mode, its a Brother HL-2240D, I'm very happy with this set up. I've had no issues with toner leaks or print quality. At the end of the cartridge it just got lighter and lighter. It goes out smoothly, I noticed my printer going to light grey in the last 20 pages, no steaking so far like my past printers when the toner ran out. I use these in my home office and these Compatible units have saved me lots of money. I'll keep buying them as long as the quality stays the same. Toner does not fix software problems either, these reviews would be usefull if they only pertained to the toner cartrige in question, not other non-related issues. Most of the complaints I read on here are related to drum issues or software, not toner cartridges. Low toner warning issues are very minor and quickly resolved. An educated consumer can save lots of money using compatible cartidges, I'll never buy over priced full retail toner if there is a generic offered.

I have an Brother HL2305W and use this product every time. I have my toner for almost a year and I print pretty frequently. I never have any issues. Highly recommend. Shipping is always pretty fast too.

I purchased a Brother printer because I'm in grad school and I have to print off a lot of notes/handouts/study guides/assignments, etc. I like laser printers because they're cheaper in the long run than inkjet, and they produce better quality printouts. Anyway, my printer came with the starter toner, but that ran out after a few weeks and so I decided to get this toner. I think I spent about $15 on a new cartridge as compared to $40+ for a Brother-certified toner cartridge. For my purposes this works great. When I opened the new toner I noticed that there was a thin layer of ink on the outside so my hands got a little messy when I was putting it in. But now it's in and it's not that big of a deal - just wash your hands. The printing so far has been indistinguishable from the Brother cartridge that came with the original printer. The only thing I can say is that every once in a while there is a little extra marking on the page. The first few sheets had it, but after that it's really hard to notice. Right now the only thing is that it has a few very faint lines that print within the top 1/2" of the page (the margin - so you're not putting anything important in this space anyway). I'd like to emphasize that they are VERY faint, and more than likely you're only going to notice them if you're looking for them. So for a student who prints off a ton of stuff for school use, nothing ever gets in the way of my printouts or makes any distracting marks on the pages. So unless you absolutely have to have perfect pages with no hints of imperfection, I would definitely recommend this. It prints great and is very affordable and even though it's not 100% perfect, 99% of people don't care or won't notice anyway (especially if it's just you using it).

I have very satisfied with this replacement. The additional steps are easy to perform but there were no instructions included. Hopefully the steps below help you. I would buy this again. This unit works correctly but not out of the box. I can see how this frustrates many of the reviewers but the actual unit does indeed work. The reason for the need to manually makes some changes is (purely speculative) because Brother also sells toner cartridges and they would rather take your $70 than have you go elsewhere. Here are the steps that I had to perform in order to have this work correctly on a Brother HL-2270DW printer: 1) Power on printer (or leave it on if already on). 2) Make sure that the "flag gear" (the white gear with the squiggly arrow on the right-most part of the left side of the cartridge) is in the "new" position (approximately at 11 o'clock). The unit I received did not have this properly aligned. Make sure that the arrows on the gear and the arrows on the case match. The"starter" cartridge does not have this gear but a fixed black piece in place of it (with the same squiggly arrow but not movable). To re-align this you will need a phillips screw driver to take off the black case (2 screws). Reposition it and then screw back together. 3) Remove the old cartridge from the drum and attach the new one in its place. 4) Insert the drum and cartridge unit into the printer. 5) Access the web maintenance page of the printer to reset the toner status. This is available at the IP address of the printer in a web browser. Select "Printer Settings" and login with the credentials "admin/access" Scroll down to the bottom and change "Replace Toner" from "stop" to "continue". Submit changes. Please note that the toner light did not immediately reset but it did shut off several minutes after replacing. This is now printing correctly and the quality of the prints is good. This cartridge is a heck of a deal for the money and I am ordering additional cartridge for family members. I can not vouch for the duty cycle/life of the cartridge yet as I have not yet exhausted the replacement but I am very satisfied with the money spent (and saved).

I have installed one replacement cartridge so far (Cyan) and everything seems to be working perfectly. The cartridge looks virtually identical to the HP original, it was easy to install and the print quality is the same as it was with the original cartridge. It is early days, but there is no leakage so far. These cartridges are considerably cheaper than the HP cartridges and are excellent value for money. Based on my experience of the supplier and using the cartridges to date, I will purchase them again. I am using an HP Laser Jet Pro M252dw printer.
