Item arrived well and installed easily. No screws in there but that is why I had ordered a set of screws separately. Sure I'm supposed to use my own but, I had lost one and needed more. But I installed it and have followed the steps to maximize it I found on line. Old Macbook Air is now working fine and all I have to do is make it a Linux OS since the MacOS on it is so old and it will no longer update.

It functions in my 2018 MacBook Pro but the two holes that hold the battery daughter board in place do not line up with the screw receptacles that hold said daughter board in place. Also, you don't need to buy a flex battery daughter board cable. There are no instructions, I had some instruction from the last time I replaced a battery in this MacBook, which really helped. Also they supply three "screw" drivers, but they do not provide the driver necessary to remove the battery daughter board that are used with the OEM battery. Lastly, the red rectangular removal tool shown in the picture was not included in either package that I purchased.

I have 3 old macbook airs that this battery will fit. I replaced the battery in 2 of them a few years ago when they became power cord dependent (ie batteries were all but dead), so I had some experience with replacement. I had also gotten a used macbook air of the same model for my sister a few years back (refurbished); that battery lasted a while but has recently been declining. So when I saw this replacement, I ordered it and felt a bit more confident in my ability to replace it successfully. I did go back to an old YouTube video I had watched when I did the other 2 a few years ago (these are really easy to find by just searching for the model number) and they walk you through the process. The kit includes everything needed and I was able to do it pretty easily. The screws are tiny and my eyesight is not what used to be, so I was very careful and tried not to hurry anything. I managed to get through without a hitch and the battery is working well. I will update if any issues arise. I will also add that I recently replaced the battery in a 2020 macbook air and the process was considerably more involved-I got through it successfully but it took a lot longer, making this replacement seem easy by comparison. I would recommend this replacement battery and it seems reasonably priced.

Initially the battery would not charge past 15% capacity. After 3 weeks of use I re-installed the MacOS and the battery started charging to full capacity. So far so good.

My daughter’s 4 year old MacBook Air battery stopped working. Rather than driving 3 hours to go to the nearest Apple Store and pay several hundred dollars for them to replace and repair, I decided to try this on my own and save a ton of money and time. I found a YouTube video with great instructions. Honestly, it was scary to take this on, but it ended up being quick and easy as long as you have the right tools. The great news is that this package not only contains the battery, but all of the tools that you need to replace the battery. It is a great quality battery and it fit her 2020 MacBook Air perfectly. This effort was well worth it and the provided great value for such a low cost. My daughter’s MacBook has a new life now.

This was a perfect replacement for my original Apple Macbook Pro Battery. The kit came with all the tools needed to replace the battery. It fit perfectly in the chassis. I had to go online to watch a video. But, other than that, everything went flawlessly!

First: Be sure to allot enough time to do this install. Whatever you assume it will be, double it. I've build computers completely from scratch and modified them heavily for 25 years and this, while not complicated, was time consuming. 1. Remove the bottom panel by removing the screws and release the clips on the front sides then slide the bottom panel forward to release the hooks on the back. 2. Detach the cable for the touchpad and go ahead and remove the touchpad completely being careful not to lose any screws/washers as they kinda float in there. This will protect your touchpad from the removing adhesive step. 3. Carefully disconnect the cables from the break-out board on the battery by flipping up the levelers and gently pulling the ribbon cable out. Be careful with this cable, I had to revert to the original in my setup! 4. You will need to disconnect your speaker wires from the motherboard because you will need to lift your motherboard in a few steps so go ahead and do that now. 5. You will need to remove the screw that holds the battery terminals to the plug adapter and gently bend it out of the way (there are videos about this online, I recommend watching that first). 6. You will need to remove the two TINY screws holding the break-out board down. Here is where I removed a star as they claim to have all the screwdrivers necessary, but this one is not in the pack. Luckily I had an iPhone disassembly kit that had that size screw driver to remove those screws. Once the battery is disconnected you should drain the power of components by pressing the power button carefully on the laptop for 10 seconds. 7. This is the most time-consuming part: remove the adhesive to get the battery loose from the case. I used the included scrapers but man it wasn't easy. Go slow and careful to not tear the plastic as the stuff inside the battery is dangerous. Once you have the adhesive off the battery and all 4 seconds can move freely you are ready to move on. 8. Remove the screws from the motherboard. There are like 8 or so but 2 different sizes so don't mix them up. 9. Use something (I used the scrapers) to gently prop the motherboard up and slide the little cables from under the motherboard with the whole battery assembly out. (watch videos online, it's pretty simple but do it carefully). 10. Remove all the old adhesive tape, I recommend doing it try as the scraper can get the edge up and it should peel off like strong tape. 11. Do the reverse to put the new battery in but first the off the plastic over the new adhesive. Don't press down yet until it's perfectly placed and the screws are back in the break-out board! 12. I nearly removed a second star for this.. The little data cable on the new battery was already seated on one side and covered in tape. That tape also covered most of the terminals on the break-out board which resulted in my laptop not working until the tape (and cable) was removed. Just be warned you might want to pull their cable off and put the original back on to avoid taking it on and off a bunch of times. 13. Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly. So, other than missing 1 screw driver and covering too much of the battery terminal, the battery works. You have to calibrate it for it to charge perfectly and I'm getting 4 hours out of it on a full charge and moderate use (including high perf graphics). Make sure you have the screwdriver first or you could waste a lot of time!!! Good luck!

I used the ifixit instructions to replace this battery in my 2018 MacBook - the issue is that the small middle circuit board has to slide under the motherboard and so you need to remove that which adds many steps the battery itself is great, works well kit includes all the tools needed except the isopropyl to remove the glue on the batteries - Tools worked great, and following the instructions was simple, just many steps.
