This is a very nice mig/tig welder. My nephew is learning how to weld and my husband wanted to start him on something that would be easy and also to help him learn the basics. It is working great. They have welded aluminum and steel. This machine has been working great with anything that they put in front of it. It has great power and it is easy to adjust. They are very pleased with this machine. I am glad that we found it and that they are getting great use out of it and my nephew is learning a new trade.

this is an amazing tool that has a lot of features and capabilities for the cost. I am not a professional welder but i do like to practice welding for the few times that I actually need those skills. This welder is a great tool for more than practice. I have achieved a few great welds over the short time that i have had this. I even let my uncle use it, and he is a professional welder with over 30 years of welding and he was shocked that a brand he had never heard of worked as well as it did. He used it on his rat rod that he has been building over the past 2 years after testing the weld quality. So I’ll take that as he really trusts the machine. Fromm my experience with it, it is just as simple to use as any other welder of its kind.

This is a very impressive Tig for the cost. It works very well and you can produce some impressive beads with it. It’s an awesome starter Tig. Super easy to set up also. I love the small size as it’s perfect for the size jobs I do around the garage. Very easy to carry around. No complaints.

Where to start? After several months working with Arccaptain to try and resolve a broken TIG torch problem I finally arrived at a workable solution. The original machine arrived with a broken TIG torch - the plastic elbow that routes the argon gas through the hose to the torch tip was broken on arrival. Arccaptain sent a complete replacement torch 6-8 week later, unfortunately they sent one that was for a different machine and was incompatible with the TIG 205 Pro - the 'aviation' plugs were completely different. After discussing several option and having them rejected - replace the broken plastic elbow with a brass one (discouraged), swapping the aviation plugs - not recommended as a first choice, or replacing the entire connector with a newer version - recommended by not yet received, I decided to cannibalize the all brass connector from the replacement torch and install it on the original torch - IT WORKED. Not only did it work, but frankly I've been impressed with how far this inverter technology has come and just how easy and intuitive this Arccaptain 205 Pro is to operate and lay down a quality weld. Even for a BEGINNER. The machine is incredibly smooth to run. And although my TIG experience is limited to a class at the local Tech College and some practice sessions on a friend's old, but high-end machine, I was able to made adequate welds on mild steel up to 3/16" using the 2T control method, with and without filler metal! While I haven't had the opportunity to evaluate the long term performance/reliability, for a the home hobbyist or casual welder, this is a heck of a good deal/great value! If for no other reason, the most economical way to get started with TIG!

I learned to weld on a diversion 180 at my primary job. I always wanted a TIG for my garage but wasn’t about to shell out that kind of cash. For the price, this machine does pretty much everything the one at work does, except ac. But I can’t weld aluminum to save my life. Even still I’ve put it to the test in my garage, making a couple of racks, some in-feed rollers for my saw, and even a stainless steel rose for my wife. This machine has performed better than I expected. I’ve even welded some heavy 3x3x1/4 tube with it using multiple passes. So far it’s taken a beating and held up great. I’m not going to be using the app. It comes with a stinger, but I am not a fan of stick welding and avoid it like the plague, but it’s there if you need it. TIG is such a clean process, I absolutely love it. You will need a reg and bottle for shieldgas. I totally recommend the foot pedal too. I’m not the best and not a full-time welder but can hold my own with mild and stainless steel. I would give this machine 5 stars. It seems like it’s a great small shop welder and I’m very happy with it.

Ive been using this while a friend shows me how to weld. He says the unit is pretty good to start with. Its my first so i have nothing to compare it to. It works well and i have no issues with it. As my experience grow, ill update this review from the perspective of a true beginner. I do like that it is light weight and easy to carry and that i am able to use it to learn how to weld

This unit is nice and welds stick not to bad. I'm just learning tig but thats why I bought this unit for. To learn tig. Tig torch could use something better for the button. It really cheap. So are the ground cord and the stick cords. After a few passes I had to stop stick welding cause the cord jacket was melting off. I will probably have to get proper welding cords from local weld shop.
