Yes, I bought a "Renewed" Aris S33RB cable modem. I purchased a three-year warranty with the modem. I was able to get this modem detected and running with the Xfinity APP. Easy peasy. Works great with my TP-Link Tri-Band WiFi 7 BE10000 Whole Home Mesh System.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **Excellent Modem for High-Speed Internet!** The ARRIS Surfboard S33 (Renewed) is a fantastic modem that works great with my local ISP, Rainier Connect. Setting it up was a breeze, and it has delivered outstanding performance since day one. With DOCSIS 3.1 technology and multi-gigabit capability, I am getting lightning-fast speeds, perfect for streaming, gaming, and working from home. The 1 and 2.5 Gbps ports are a significant upgrade, allowing me to maximize my internet plan's potential. The modem supports up to 2.5 Gbps max speeds and utilizes 4 OFDM channels to ensure a stable and reliable connection. I am thoroughly impressed with this renewed model—it performs like new and offers excellent value. If you're looking for a high-performance cable modem, I highly recommend the ARRIS Surfboard S33. It has been a game-changer for my internet experience with Rainier Connect.

For a point of reference, I'm a network engineer. This is easy to set up, if it works for your specific application. The problem with it is, there is no way to easily configure things such as the internal DHCP server or certain security features you'd have access to with an older modem. If your firewall on your network will not receive a DHCP address correctly from this device, you have little options for resolving the issue. I wiresharked the connection and my firewall was failing to negotiate an IP lease from the modem. With no way to access any meaningful interface other than the web interface on the modem (which is useless since it only shows information and does not allow any configurations to be edited) or using the completely worthless Arris android app, which is just informational and does nothing to configure the device, you're screwed. I've had the device randomly fail several times. Each time the DHCP server in the device failed to hand out an IP address to my firewall. One time, the cable company pushed out a firmware upgrade which broke it. The firmware upgrades have also removed my passwords and reset them to the default. Bring back user editable configurations and my rating would go up. But this canned one size fits all unconfigurable crap is a pain in the butt.

This modem works great it has a small foot print so it is easy to tuck away. I have been paying for 1.5 Gigs from Xfinity for the last two years. I was never able to get my full speed because the Modem/Router Xfinity provides is caped at 1GB. So even though I had the highest tier of service and the best modem that Xfinity provided, and paying to rent the modem as well, I was never able to take advantage of what I was paying for. I was able to add this modem in as little as 5 minutes and did not even have to speak to an Xfinity agent. I was up and running with my full speed in 5 minutes. In a year’s time the modem will pay for it self. I honestly wish I would have done this sooner.

While my ISP contract is for 300 mbps I have always gotten up to 375 even 380 on occasion while using an Arris 6190 DOCSIS 3.0 for many years now. This hasn't changed with the DOCIS 3.1 and I wasn't really expecting it to since that would be an expectation too far. But when testing my speeds at different times throughout the day, with the 3.1 I get more consistent max to near max speeds. Setting this modem up would have been a breeze if Spectrum's set up page actually worked when upgrading a modem vs installing a first time new one. I was hoping with fingers crossed that I could get 'er done in 15 mins max and not have to call for assistance. Not to be. Trying to use their chat was a waste of time as well. Whoever was on the other end was lost from the get go and abandoned me in no time flat. So after finally telling their robo recorded menu I wanted a human (customer support) which wasn't a choice on their menu, I broke through to someone who had a clue. So the 15 mins I was hoping for turned into the better part of an hour and a half for a simple setup. One thing: the BRIGHT blue light that so many reviewers seem to be complaining about here, isn't that BRIGHT on my modem. In fact it isn't BRIGHT at all. It is just a blue smiley face light at the very bottom of this very tiny modem, and even looking at it in a completely darkened room it isn't BRIGHT. So I'm left to just Laugh Out Loud. ;-) Lastly, this modem to the touch feels a tad warmer than the 3.0 but their is ample ventilation at it's top, where it should be, so that should not be a problem. Also, I have as yet been unable to access the modem's settings page. 192.168.100.1. I get nothing. Not really a big deal since my experience with that page for the 3.0 was that it gave the status of the modem. That's about it. No real settings to speak of. If it's status ever becomes 'not working' I'm sure I'll know that without needing to go the modem's web page.
