Finally I found a great monitor with no backlight bleeding. It has some ips glow but that is ok, as the black levels in this monitor is the best I have seen in an ips monitor so far. Second of all, people are complaining about HDR being washed out for 2 reasons 1- They are using HDR on non supported HDR games 2- Or they are playing a game that has terrible HDR implementation to begin with, and a good example for such a game is Red Dead redemption 2 which looks terrible and washed out when HDR is turned on(this is even for the best HDR TVs as it is a game issue and not a monitor or a TV issue), but you can still fix this issue by tinkering with your PS4's HDR calibration settings. Games that I have tried on this monitor and look great with HDR for PS4 pro are(Spider man, God of war, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon zero of Dawn). Most importantly I do not understand why is this not vesa hdr certified while LG UK, UN and UL series are. For one, the LG monitors in the series I have listed and that have the "400" hdr certification, do not even exceed 350 nits(Their peak brightness is 350 nits, just as high as this Asus monitor) which is funny because both the Asus TUF Gaming VG289Q and the LG 27UK, UN and UL series are all 350 nits max, but for some reason the LG was able to acquire a Vesa 400 certification for its HDR, but the Asus TUF Gaming VG289Q, which has the same amount of nits(350), did not acquire this certification. All in all this is a great monitor that has the best black levels for an IPS monitor and it is of better quality than the more expensive LG27UK, Ul and UN series. Its black levels are very impressive and makes any game that much more atmospheric and immersive, regardless of the resolution. For example, Cyberpunk on PC, set at 1080p, actually looks great on this monitor due to the black levels (without HDR). -The Cons, What are they? 1-The Buttons and the Display options are kinda terrible and inaccessible/nonintuitive. 2-No volume buttons or wheel, so you actually have to go into the OSD(on screen display options) in order to get into the volume section to turn your volume up or down. 3- It does not come with an HDMI cable and only comes with a Display Port cable. 4- Terrible wire connection locations(vertically placed in the back rather than horizontally, which LG monitors win in this department) 5- And lastly there is no quick buttons for input changes. You still have to go into the menu in order to change your input from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 to Display Port and vice versa. So good thing non of the cons have to do anything with the actual image quality because this monitor performs very well in that department. I feel they skimped on these technical issues in order to give you an Amazing display for this price, so the shortcuts that were made to offer such an amazing picture for this price, are mostly the cons I have listed, and It did not come at the expense of image quality which is great. Of course many people would add 60hertz as a "con" but for gamers who are not planning to play games higher than 60fps, then there is no reason to consider this a con. It is only a con for people who care more about performance in multiplayer games, than about image quality. And no, the new consoles will not take advantage of monitors with higher refresh rates in triple A tittles and only a few games will even run at 4k 120 hertz on the xbox series x or the PS5. It is a gimmick that you should not base your monitor shopping decision on. I mean the PS5 box states "8k"...does that mean that games will run at 8k on PS5 and that you should go out and now buy an 8k TV to "future proof" yourself? lol of course not. Gimmick advertising is a thing children.

The XG27UCS was the perfect monitor choice for me, especially for the price! I have a small table so I was worried about the size, BUT the small base is a lifesaver and also has a smartphone holder which I've never seen on a monitor before, as well as a super convenient USB-C charging port. The setup process couldn't have been easier, as no tools were required. While setting it up, I noticed the tripod socket on top of the vertical stand which is perfect for my webcam / lighting setup. Once I had it set up via the Display Port 1.4 option, I couldn't believe how good the quality was. I didn't expect it to be that much clearer than my 1440p 144hz monitor I had before, but it was a game changer. When I loaded up my game, I could INSTANTLY tell not only the quality difference but also the refresh rate. 160hz combined with 4K felt like I was gaming on a NASA computer for the first time ever LOL. Not only were the HDR & ELMB insane, but I felt like I was seeing colors I had never seen before! I also love how you can turn the screen sideways! As tempted as I am to try it for my live stream chat, I can't go back to using my 1440p monitor to game after using this one - the quality, refresh rate, and 1ms response time has me hooked. I couldn't be happier with this purchase!

I was totally stuck deciding whether FPS or Picture quality was more important for my gaming setup. Typically at the 200-300 dollar price range, your stuck deciding between the two. Computers than can run at 320Hz at 4k are in the thousands, so I figured for my budget it was one or the other.... That is until i stumbled upon this divine creation. For just a hundred bucks more than i was planning on spending, this monitor allows you to easily swap between high frames poor picture quality (320hz 1080p) to reasonable frames High quality (160hz 4k). Now I can play Rocket League or Call of Duty at a competitive level of frames , then swap to 4k and lower the frames for immersive games like Red Dead Redemption. The Monitor and Mount are very sturdy and look sleek and futuristic. Very happy with my purchase. (Probably not ideal for Xbox players as the max frames the xbox can display is 120hz)

If you're playing single player titles or just playing for kicks with friends online this screen will meet your needs. The HDR isn't absolutely eye-popping, but I don't find it lacking by any means. I used windows HDR calibration app which I must say really brought it all up to par. I've got this hooked up to a 4090, g-sync enabled. The frame rates are butter. Absolute constant 60 fps. 3D modeling and Photoshop have looked and worked great on this monitor. No complaints there. The 10-bit colour depth coming in with 1.02 billion colours, standard contrast ratio, and slightly above standard brightness all add to the experience. The stand is actually very nice. Great quality, and many angles of adjustment. I've been playing around with the idea of buying two more of these monitors for a triple monitor set-up. Absolutely love it. Highly recommend.

As of 10-15-2024, the monitor is (still) NOT G-SYNC Compatible. As a 4k monitor, the colour and picture quality are really nice and the 160hz panel helps with regular use. The 320hz mode (Frame Rate Boost) @ 1080p works well during games however the resolution difference is really noticeable. The monitor really heats up during extreme usage. Overall it is an excellent multi-use monitor for daily usage, watching videos, and gaming.

Overall good product. HDR in black background is acceptable. Cannot ask too much for edge-lit. Delivery is faster than expected.
