I purchased this board to replace an ASUS ROG X-470F motherboard that died. Pros: This board has the same number of SATA ports as the 470 (6), which was important for me, because all my games are stored in SATA SSDs. This MB boots quite a bit faster than my previous board. That’s always a plus. Built-in Wi-Fi controller. While I had a Wi-Fi expansion card for the x470 board, it was good to have it built-in to help clean up the interior of the case. Plenty of ports. Not only the above mentioned SARA ports, but plenty of USB ports, as well, including support for front-of-case ports. I have 6 USB cables plugged in and still have two free ports in the back, and 6 more on the case top. Drivers included on CD/DVD. This is a big deal to me, because newer boards don’t appear to include them. PNP picks up much of the drivers, but not all. Without included drivers, you might have to go to another machine to download them. That’s not customer-friendly. Cons: The Wi-Fi antenna is non-magnetic. This allows the antenna to slide off the case way too easily, diminishing the signal from the router, if you don’t notice it immediately. The Aura lights are not on top of the board. If you have ARGB light bars, it can flood out the boards built-in lights. DisplayPort and HDMI ports included, but so far, I have not been able to find integrated video hardware. This one has me confused.

I'm not a gamer. I use my personal computer for various hobbies, such as routing circuit boards, rendering video, the occasional AI project, running Linux VMs, etc. I had no trouble at all with this motherboard. I purchased 64GB of DDR5 RAM at the same time, as well as a new 9900X CPU, a Noctua cooler, and a Samsung 990 SSD. All of this worked well and booted properly on the first time. I burned in the system using Ubuntu 24.04 live distribution on a USB stick, ran some performance tests, and used Ubuntu to copy over my existing Windows 10 image onto the new Samsung SSD. Unlike the other reviewer, I had no problem using the Wifi under Ubuntu. I don't use Wifi on Windows, so I wouldn't know whether it works there or not. As a productivity user, I don't really care about some of the "Gamer" features of this motherboards, nor do I care about aesthetics like glowing LED lights. I picked the Tuf series over the ASUS B840 because it seemed like a beefier build overall. The only drawback is the relatively large heatsink at the rear of the motherboard -- it precludes me from the possibility of installing a second fan on my Noctua cooler. I'm skeptical whether such a large heatsink generates any real benefit, other whether it is done for appearance sake. Nevertheless, I don't really need that second fan anyway. Installing the SSDs was a little bit unorthodox with a plastic springy clip that ASUS uses rather than a screw, but it worked fine. There's a hefty heat sink that fits over the SSDs and will further hold them snugly in place. One complication I had during boot was that I had the enable Compatibility Support Mode (CSM) to get it to boot from the Samsung 990 SSD. Not sure if that's typical or if it was because of the idiosyncrasy of the existing SSD image that I brought over from my old computer (it was a new Samsung 990 SSD, but an existing image that I wrote to it). All things considered, a good motherboard that feels like it's more than tuf enough for my needs.

Solid motherboard and good looking on any system, no RGB, solid black color, lots of usb ports as well as many other connecting options on the main board... it only needs a good gpu release button, for the price it is the least we need for a semi high end MOBO, other than that, really stable and solid product

I don't know what it is about AM5 motherboards, but with the maiden boot cycle, I never get a video out signal if I use a Graphics card in the rig. After they fail to get a signal, I boot up with the monitor plugged into the rear I/O, dGPU removed, and then I get a signal. After this, I can put the dGPU back into the rig and everything is fine. My personal system has a Ryzen 9 9950x, the Crossair X870E board, and 64GB of DDR5-6000 cl30 Hynix die RAM. I have no problems tuning the RAM and passing rounds of Karhu, Prime95, and anything else. I even have the RAM running at 6200MT/s with the lateincies below what's on the Ram's sticker. It passes everything. Now, I put together a system with the TUF B850 along with the Ryzen 9 9900x, and the exact same 64GB kit of 6000MT/s cl30 RAM. No matter what I do or have tried, I cannot get this RAM stress test stable with EXPO enabled, the U-Clk at 3000MHz, and the F-CLk at 2000MHz. I know that Dual Ranked RAM is a bit tougher to tune, but my high end X870E board is running circles around this B850 baord. Other than that, this board is a bit pricy for what you get out of it. It must be the Asus tax. The only reason I bought this board in the first place is because I was building a PC for a friend of the family and she picked an ATX sized board to go with the Thermaltake Tower 300, and this case only works with mATX boards. For the price, it would have been nice if this board came with better Audio Codec and Wifi 7. Then again, as I was thumbing through the market, I noticed that really good mATX boards are non-existent. I was hoping to find a Strix X870 mATX board, but this is the best Asus has to offer. This board at least has a M.2 slot that supports a PCIe 5.0 drive, the VRM's are good, and the primary PCIe x16 slot supports PCIe 5.0. The BIOS Flashback feature is also useful.

Awesome product. You can never go wrong with asus they are a top company. I have had issues with asrock warranty but have never need to use my warranty with asus. But from research I know asus is honorable and reputable compared to alot those other companies. Great motherboard worth the $$$ and you probably won't ever use all it's features.

I thought it had an input type c to connect it to the case, but it doesn't, it only has its own type c. You should open the website and see the blueprint of the motherboard to see what to get in advance. I bought a type c input pcie for my case to connect it to the motherboard. I also got a fan hub. Everything else was spot on.

Has a heap of ports and is great quality for the price. The IO shield is already installed on the motherboard which makes things easier. Also has very easy m.2 SSD installation. Overall is a great price for the newest generation motherboard.
