I recommend to flea-comb your cat at least twice a day for about a week before applying. This reduces the number of living fleas on your cat, so when you apply the product, you don't have 300 fleas "jumping ship" so to speak. I'd gone over my cat so many times with the flea comb, I was coming up with only 1 or 2 fleas per session. Also, use a flea killing spray for areas like under beds, inside sofas, behind furniture, places fleas like to hide. Vacuum everything that you can. Proper application - First make sure your cat is comfortable with the flea comb. Then part a horizontal strip of hair about 1 inch wide at the back of the neck. While holding the part open, apply the product across this strip of exposed skin. Allow to soak for a couple seconds, then gently cover over with surrounding fur, avoiding contact with the liquid. Repeat every month for at least three months in a row to break the life cycle of the fleas, for an indoor-only cat. If your cat goes in and out of he house, it will continuously pick up fleas from outside, and I'd recommend a flea-combing every time they come back inside, and a monthly treatment with Advantage 2 for Cats. For entirely outdoor cats I recommend a flea collar like Seresto, or a monthly treatment with Advantage 2 for Cats.

Excellent product, is pricy but really works and doesn’t bother our cat at all, plus I can buy it at/through Walmart or here on Amazon. I also buy the Advantage spray and use every 3-4 weeks or so around my doorways, it keeps out ants, spiders /kills everything, just keep pet away until the spray is dried, then it’s fine.

My cat was chewing her front legs. She’s an older cat and I’ve never seen her do this before ? So when she started this behavior I thought it was odd she was doing it underneath the chair at my dining room table and I’ve had her on a diet so I naturally thought this was her wanting more food so I’d just give her a few more oz and everything seemed to be okay till the chewing became excessive and I noticed she was losing fur on her legs so I decided to do some research and found it could be her diet ? That she developed a allergy to the food I’ve been feeding her for the past few years? I changed her food that made her happy but the chewing continued. So order these medicine for her and I haven’t noticed her chewing since and her fur is starting to grow back. She’s an older can and hasn’t had a flea problem since she was younger so this kind caught me off guard!! But it seems like advantage is working !!

I love it ! It worked just took a couple hours to fully stop my cats from itching. I had tried capstar and capaction and the fleas kept coming back and I don’t even let my cats outside so I tried this and it worked got rid of fleas and stopped my cats from itching. Im very happy I was nervous at first bc my cat is a senior cat and sensitive but it all worked out. Only downside is that it’s topical so even if you put it on their back between their shoulders it leaks sideways, so I put a shirt on them overnight till it dried up in a way. My younger cat licked it and started salivating like crazy that’s why I suggest you put on a shirt on them if you apply it because I’m sure it’s not safe for them to ingest I had to rinse his mouth out it was very scary but he is fine! Make sure you always stay around your pet to watch for any reactions and to make sure they don’t lick it! Great quality and came a couple hours after I placed the order.

Myself, the Dog and Cat.Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2025

I did not have a big Flea problem with my BIG 20+ Tuxedo Cat but I noticed eggs and fleas on his Back and I did not want this to go any further since I also have a Boston Terrier puppy who was not yet infected. I only bought the Large Cat Advantage II and I am happy to pronounce a Flee free home. We are still Flea free and will purchase Advantage II again if needed. P.S. the sooner you spot the problem the faster it is eliminated, so don't wait for the Flea Horde to run you out of Town. Moi, Meow and Woof, Woof family.

With my review i am going to address points from reviews posted. This review is only based on my personal experiences. 1. Price. Yes, this product is expensive. However, it's absolutely worth it. It works very well and I've always felt that my cats not suffering is more important than the price tag. Also, here on amazon is significantly cheaper than other places. (Saved $20 buying it here instead of 1800petmeds) 2. Balding. There are a few things that need to be known for this product. Make sure you are using the appropriate dose for your cats. Weigh them. Do not assume their weight. If they are on the borderline, use the smaller dose or dont use all of the larger one. Also dont put it all in one spot. Make a line from the back of their neck to their shoulder blades. 3. "Frontline is cheaper and does the same thing". Incorrect! Frontline is cheaper but in order for frontline to work, the fleas have to bite the animals. This product does not require them to be bitten. 4. "Fleas didnt go away." You cannot expect any flea product to completely rid your home of them. It takes a minimum of 3 months to completely get rid of them if you actively fight against the fleas. You need to vacuum your floors and furniture every day at least for awhile. You also need to keep up with your laundry and wash blankets regularly, including your bedding. And its also very important to be spraying your furniture down with flea spray. RAID or Hotshot work wonders for this! Spray your furniture and bedding down every night. I also spray in the crevices of my apartment because fleas like to hide. 5. "Fleas were going everywhere so i had to give them a flea bath." Do NOT do this. Them jumping off your pets is a GOOD thing! That means the product is working. If you bathe them before the product has time to set it, you just wasted your money. This is why you need to be keeping up with prevention in your home. Theyre jumping off your animal because the product is working. Vacuuming, washing, and spraying is what will combat the infestation. You CANNOT get rid of fleas completely in a short period of time so dont expect a miracle. That's where people get disappointed. Let the product do its job and play catch up for the next few months. And make sure you're keeping up with the doses!!
