I bought two of these as gifts, and I don't know if the second one has been set up yet but the first has been running for a week and a half and my girlfriend has some very impressive lettuce going from the seeds that came with it! We only used the middle two pods at first, but we were so impressed that we just bought some tea pods and added those as well. The tea pods were 1 month beyond their sell-by date, so I contacted AeroGarden customer service through Amazon's support page and they got back to me in a matter of minutes explaining that the seeds should last for a year after the sell-by date and were still covered by their warranty for 90 days after purchase. So we put the tea pods in the 4 outer slots today. My only initial complaint about the unit is that you have to plug in or reset the Harvest 2.0 at the same time of day you want the light and pump to start at every day. So if you want it to start at 6am so that the light turns off before bed time, you have to wake up and be ready to reset it at 6am. The model with the LCD allows you to program it, but I knew that when I bought it and I figured this limited inconvenience was worth the lower price and the more simplistic aesthetics of the Harvest 2.0. I should also mention that some of the plastic pod inserts were pretty tight going in. I had to press fairly hard to get them to "seat", but nothing felt like it would break, just that they might be hard to remove when we replant. The "switch" aka "button" is actually neither, it's the little embossed leaf symbol on the top of the lighting canopy, which seems to be a capacitive sensor which detects touch rather being a moving part. You can use this to temporarily turn the light off or on, or long-press it for 5 seconds to reset the daily start time to the current time of day.

A very nice product. Just love it. Will buy more of them. I start all my vegies and flowers in it.

Deducting one star because my Aerogarden didn’t come with seeds as advertised, and because it took me about 30 minutes to get it to turn on. The light hood wasn’t snapped into the post quite far enough, even though it felt like it clicked in place properly. I initially even tested the fit by wiggling, pressing, lightly lifting it, so I really don’t know what the problem was but, it’s working just fine now after removing and reinstalling the light hood. I’ve been using an Aerogarden Bounty for almost 5 years, so with this model I’m kinda missing having a touchscreen display, but it really isn’t necessary, It’s smaller and has a less powerful light than the Bounty, but for the price (on sale) it’s a good value. The charcoal matte finish is surprisingly premium looking in person.

Got it set up. Filled with water. Plugged in. NOTHING!! I checked all connections. Then to take it apart was another challenge. Highly disappointed, they sure don't make them like they used to!! I have one that is 8+ years old and is working like new, easy to use and reliable. It is being returned ASAP! Don't know if I will consider another Aerogarden brand. I can see why they are going out of business. Update: I returned the thing. After all the negative comments I decided to look for a gently used older model, from back when they made them better.

I really like this, and the pump is so quiet.

I have several indoor hydroponic systems, and am a firm believer on the value of counter top gardens. However, for me, this unit is not at all practical because of its size, and I will probably never use it. The unit is well built, and has all the necessary components for a counter top system. The pods fit nicely, and I like that it has a larger front opening for adding nutrient fluid. I don't care for the pod covers as they are too easy to move. And I would prefer fluid level window that gives me an immediate indication of the remaining level, instead of a visible red leaf after the level is already low. But the biggest issue is its size, and limited height. It advertises a 12" light height, but the unit I received only went up 11". Since you don't want plants in contact with the lights, that means only a 10" plant height. Not having grown herbs or flowers in a hydroponic system, this unit may be suitable for that purpose. Or any plant that would be under 10 inches tall. But for most lettuce, tomatoes, celery, and other leafy greens, this is way too small, if you want mature plants. Of course, if you want to harvest smaller, immature plants, then you could use this unit. I have a unit with 16 pods that is at least 3 times larger with a 24" light height, and I can only use 2-3 pods, if I want mature plants with a long harvest period. (See Picture). Bottom line is this unit is way too expensive for such a small unit with such limited grow capability. You can find many units 2-3 times the size for 1/2-2/3 of the price, with more versatility, (higher light), that will work far better if you are serious about growing.

Aerogardens make the best products. Better water circulation than any competitors. The watering access port is very large and convenient. The grow light works as advertised.

It works great for growing things, but the problem is some of the plants take up most of the room. It’s almost like the holes are too close together and don’t allow for the plant to actually grow. I had to buy a second one just for one tomato plant. What shades everything else. Not sure why they sell seed kits for plants that don’t fit in this system, the tomato plants is growing taller than the light
