I was nervous at first because two pods were not as tall as the rest, could see the seed at the bottom of the pod. They were just late bloomers. Would purchase again!

this is realllly growing a lot of tomatoes, I haven't seen any peppers yet. The tomatoes are taking a long time to go from green to red. Previously I had a set of mini cherry tomatoes that grew and ripened much more quickly. But I can't complain really as these plants are full and bushy, I prune them a lot, and they make a nice showing.

I bought these to go with my new hydroponics garden about 2 weeks ago with an herb garden and some salad greens.. I thought I'd start small and simple and then figure out the fancy stuff later. I'm a very casual gardener and this seemed simple enough to fit into my lifestyle. The tomatoes popped right up. Thats a 2 week shot of them right there. One is doing really well and the little one is on the struggle buss. The dud on the end.... is the peppers plant. There were two pods that I'd put into the system but when they didn't sprout at all I did do an autopsy on one. It was as I'd thought, no pepper seeds! The good news is that no harm no foul. Seeds are still 98 cents at the store and I'll grab a packet in the morning. I've already looked in the box to see if maybe they'd gotten knocked loose from the pod, but there weren't any. I'm sure for someone less adventurous this might be a serious drawback. I however am having a grand old time playing hydroponic farmer. :) I'll probably buy direct from the site next time seeing as amazon isn't any cheaper and its merchandise has become compromised and you actually have a wider selection of pod kits.

I bought this for my girlfriend as a Christmas present. We use a lot of herbs and spices and are always going to the grocery store for more. This little son of a gun grows so unbelievably fast. If you plan to replant, make sure you're getting into the bottom space and keeping the roots under control. If you have all the pod spaces filled, the roots start to get intertwined. Not a big problem, just something to look out for. HIGHLY recommend this product!

I like this kit and it’s perfect for my Aerogarden! I can’t wait to see this grow into bountiful produce and I can make fresh salsa with the cherry tomatoes and jalapeños!

UPDATE: I really wanted to update my review once the tomatoes and jalapeños got going and here we are. Have to say, this is the first time I have been 100% successful with all the pods (speaking in general, not specific to the salsa kit). I am so excited but still need to be patient as one tomato fell off, so I ate it. Even though it was red, it wasn't ready and tasted awful (so tart) so I'm leaving them for a while longer. I covered the unused holes with foil (I refuse to pay $25 plus import fees for the cheap quality caps that should come with EVERY AeroGarden). This is very important to stop algea growth which will ruin your entire crop. Original Review: I'm so happy! All 6 pods are doing well even though 3 pods took a couple extra weeks and I am in my 6th week right now and all are flourishing. All 3 of my tomato plants have flowers and my jalapeño plants are still a bit thin but looks very healthy. If you have only ever grown herbs in an AeroGarden, like myself, you need to be MUCH more patient with the Salsa kit. All 3 of my jalapeño plants took about 3 weeks to start sprouting, the flowers on my tomato plants took almost a month to start growing and there are extra steps you need to take. Once you have flowers, you need to mimic the same action bees do when they pollinate flowers and AeroGarden recommends buying their over-priced Be the Bee Pollinator (which is a nice low price in the US but here in Canada it is triple the price). Don't waste your money, an electric toothbrush does the exact same thing the Pollinator does and if you don't have an electric toothbrush then rest a small fan in front of the garden for an hour or so (this also helps the plants to strengthen their stems). This is very lengthy process and can take over 3 months until you are ready to harvest. Please remember to do a complete water change every 4 weeks and replace with filtered or distilled water (tap water will throw off the acidity levels).

Easy to use and quick germination. Plants are already 2 inches tall and growing strong.

My tomatoes sprouted after just 5 days, and are growing quite quickly. I can see the jalepeno sprouts after 6 days, just peeking through the soil. Will order again!

I love the idea and when this product works its great. I have had 3 units replaced, one was replaced by the wrong model. So many kits have failed. The last kit, the salsa kit, only 1 jalenpeno sprouted at after 7 weeks it is about 1 inch high and the original two leaves have not opened. So, 1/2 the kit failed. The tomatoes? Well, one sprouted as intended and is doing well. The other two took an additional 3 weeks to sprout and now are about 1/2 the size of the first sprouter. I also bought some golden tomatoes at the same time. Only 2 of the 6 have sprouted. They were planted at the same time as the others and they are only about 2 inches high with 4 leaves. Again a FAIL. I’ve worked with the Aerogardens for a year now. Sometimes they are great but overall, I wasted a lot of money on them. A LOT OF MONEY WASTED. I’m not even going to contact the company. Oh, did I mention that the one time I bought directly through the company, not from Amazon, my card information was compromised? Again, a fail at the company’s end. *SIGH* I’m just done with these guys.

The aero garden has been so fun and so easy to use. Typically do for herbs, but this time tried the salsa and after 45 days I have tomatoes and peppers ready to harvest any day
