Got this for my grandson who is 10. He is creative and loves music. Product was perfect to start out and see where he goes with his music interest. Easy to assemble.

We bought these drums for my son as a first kit. He’s asked about drums since he could first talk, but we’ve been hesitant as most parents are. Drums are loud, They take a lot of space, etc. this kit from Alesis is a great solution. Being electronic the audible acoustic noise is minimal. He plays them with headphones, the included sounds, while not professional grade, are fantastic for learning. This kit gives him a chance to learn an instrument, pretend to be Animal from the Muppets, and get some noise/wiggles out in a non-destructive, productive manner. Negatives: the hardware isn’t the best. Hitting with hands or aggressively with sticks can tilt the top racked Tom’s,crash, and ride symbol down. Even with the one mentioned negative this kit is totally worth it. I’d definitely recommend them over a typical toy electronic kit, or a child’s acoustic kit. He’s happy, I’m Happy. All around it’s an awesome purchase.

Perfect for youbger kids as a starter kit. It sets up quickly, looks nice enough to leave out all the time and doesn't take up much space, and has all of the features for a beginner to start playing. Wish the various controls on the panel were more straightforward (i.e. press 2 buttons at the same time then a 5 and then start and then another number etc) meaning that an adult needs to help with the settings, but for the price it's well done and very fun to play. A larger/full size set would be too big for a small child. This is the perfect size for the under 10 set.

So this is a MINI kit, not a Beginner's kit. The crossbar which holds the two toms and the crash and ride are only 24 inches off the ground at their highest setting. That's super super short, even for most kids. I didn't take a star off for that, although there's nowhere that shows how tall this thing is in the description. But when I ordered a "Kids kit" I assumed it would be smaller, just not this tiny. I was originally going to purchase the Alesis Drums Nitro Mesh Kit for a $100 more, and then saw this and thought "hey, beginner's kit for a beginner." WRONG. Spend the extra money and get a full size kit unless your kid is like 7 or 8 years old. The melodics website frustrating. I'm a geek and couldn't figure out why it would not let me register the product. I tried to register the serial # so I could access the drum lessons, but it was impossible to do so. I left feedback and we'll see if they can tell me what i'm doing wrong. I took one star off for that. It should be simple to register a product, but you should have to in order to access free drum lessons...IMHO The base drum pedal is SUPER sensitive, which makes it a little hard to keep just one beat when you want one beat. It has a habit of double beats and random beats if you even touch it. It's probably because it's on a carpet so I'll most likely put down something hard for it to sit on instead. There is music you can play along to on the controller, but that music isn't for beginners at all; you really have to learn the basics before you can use any of the music on the controller. I get that this is a beginner's kit, and a "kids" kit, but I was surprised at how SMALL (as in low to the floor) it is. I'm either going to replace the legs with longer pvc or pipe to raise it up or I'm going to return it and get the Alesis Drums Nitro Mesh Kit instead for the extra $100. PROS: The mesh heads are super, it comes with a key to adjust the head tension which is awesome. The controller is very simple and easy to use. It took me less than 10 minutes to set up the kit and start playing. It literally comes with EVERYTHING you need to start playing the drum kit. The pre-set drum kits you can choose from are very cool. There is no delay at all when hitting any surface. CONS This is a MINI kit. It's REALLY low to the floor. Also the mesh heads are 6 inches, so MINI. Can't adjust the cymbal heights, they are at the height they're at which is about 10"-12" inches above crossbeam. Floor pedals are very sensitive and no way (that I found ) to adjust the sensitivity (will research this). Trying to register product online was impossible. Overall, as I mentioned, unless your kid is under 4 feet tall or so, this is too small for them. Spend the extra $100 and get the Alesis Drums Nitro Mesh Kit instead.

I purchased these electric drums for my daughter. She decided that she wanted to learn to play drums (she plays several different instruments). She loves them. I thought the price was great and she has been using them constantly.

This went together in minutes, very easy to set up. It was purchased as a gift, arrived earlier than ETA and is the perfect size for a kid. It has dozens of different kits to choose from, different click track and mattern presets to practice to. The mesh tops are very quiet, makes practicing easy without disrupting the rest of the house. Everything needed to start was included, headphones, sticks, throne, etc.

This electric drum set is adequate for kids younger than 7 years old to see if they have an interest or aptitude. If you've established you are going to keep playing, even sparingly, after 7 years old, it's not really a viable product. It's physically very small and will be outgrown quickly. That's not a big deal, but definitely worth knowing. Overalls it's a fun product and plays reasonably well for the price point. You'll never mistake it for real drums, but it's nice being able to use the headphones. The only real annoyance is the bass and high hat pedals. They are of such low quality design - flexing plastic shelf that steps on a button - they are exceptionally difficult to use, even with practice. Replacing this component with pedals with a hinge design would improve the experience greatly. The current design gets double clicks and inconsistent actuation. Not exactly ideal for setting the beat with the bass drum. Again, usable for small kids to guage their level of interest without committing a bunch of money on your part.

My twin 12 year old boys wanted a drum kit for a while, I like a house not filled with banging chaos so we compromised. This electric drum kit is a great size, works great, sound is realistic and it comes with headphones! I can handles the knocking sounds when banging around! Good value for what you get. Even I have fun playing this! Very easy to use but takes some assembly!

Acabamos de montarla y se ve de buena calidad. El sonido es bueno y tiene muchas configuraciones. Sin duda es un buen producto para un baterista junior a partir de 5-6 años hasta los 10-12. Incluyo yo me he animado y puedo tocarla bien. Pros: calidad del material, tuercas y piezas. Contras: quizá los auriculares son demasiado sencillos. Para verla en acción: IG: @TriumphRiderLife
