“Best. Gift. Ever!!!” Hi! I’m 7 years old, and I LOVE my new Kindle Paperwhite Kids! It’s like having a whole library in my hands, but way lighter than carrying all my books (which my mom says is a good thing because my backpack is already super full). Why It’s Awesome: ✔ So Many Books! – It comes with a huge library, and my kids get to pick any book they want. They never run out of stories to read! ✔ No Glare, No Problem! – I can read outside, in the car, or under my blanket with a flashlight. The screen looks just like a real book! ✔ Super Easy to Hold – It’s not heavy, and my hands don’t get tired, even when I read a LOT! ✔ No Distractions! – No games, no videos—just books! ✔ Waterproof! – My son feels like a real reader with his Kindle Paperwhite Kids. It’s his favorite thing to bring on car trips, and loves it for reading before bed now! If you love books, you NEED this!! The quality and price you cannot beat! The cover it came with was the perfect color scheme for him and he truly loves having it wherever we go!

I bought this for an adult, the case is so cute and soft I had to have it. Not sure how water resistant it actually is as I don’t want to harm it in my testing. Not my first kindle and won’t be my last but this is definitely one of my favorites. The screen is so clear I forgot to set my font and page color the way I usually do when I first set up my kindles. I just loved it right out of the box and it was so easy to set up and get started reading. It weighs almost nothing which is good for keeping my hands from getting tired when holding it. I haven’t really explored too many menus I just downloaded and imported some books and got going. I’ve had a little bit of trouble turning the pages sometimes but that might be the book itself and not the function of the kindle. Sometimes the imported library books freeze on pages so that’s on the book or something I’m doing wrong. Overall it was a great purchase and well worth the money. I got it for the case and the case is very soft and the colors are popping. The kids section was pretty well done I was wondering how that was set up and it was just a smaller library that you give the kid permission to read and they can just go at it and with the subscription they can read more kid friendly books included. I think you can even control that aspect with your phone or computer. Adult or kid as long as they can read they will be able to use and hopefully enjoy this device. Not going to promise a love of reading but when that’s all they can do on this it’s a good screen for a little reader to have

my daughter asked Santa for a Kindle and he delivered and she has not put it down since we got it. She’s already read two chapter books and one picture book that was Minnie mouse. She is loving it and has gotten her really excited about reading every day. it’s like we it’s compact the battery life is amazing. She has read four books on it two of which were chapter and has not had to charge it yet. The screen is great. We can change the brightness the font size and it’s just lightweight. She can carry it wherever we’ve gone on Christmas break.

Upgraded from my kindle basic and it is even more amazing than I thought it would be! A bigger screen but not too big. It's comparable to about the size of a book. I love that it has soft lighting features. It's easy to navigate and makes reading so convenient and enjoyable. This one came with a free warranty which is a plus! If you use as an adult kindle and don't add the kids function you will still get ads! Just an FYI. I don't find ads as an inconvenience personally. They're literally only there for a second until you swipe. The case that came with it was a good quality and colorful! I actually don't mind it and am not in a hurry to switch it.

Our 10 year old and 6 year old both got one for Christmas. They both already have iPads and we’re trying to ensure they focus on just reading, which is far easier when that’s all the Kindle does. My older child just cannot put the Kindle down and is a voracious reader. The younger child is getting there, too. The device itself is super simple and does its job without drama. Takes the kids some time to get used to it being slower than reading on a iPad, but once they understand, it’s no big deal. The e-ink display is rich and the backlight does a great job adjusting to the ambient light. Parental timing controls are decent. Wish the full power off process was clearer and more intuitive - device does not need to stand by forever. I took one star off because the process of kids downloading public library ebooks is excessively complicated. Without describing the process in detail, I will just note that it’s very simple on iPads. Both processes start with the Libbey app, but things go sideways once books have to transfer to the Kindle ecosystem, mainly because minor children don’t have their own Amazon account. And I don’t think Amazon really minds the complexity because it makes the kids Kindle Unlimited subscription super attractive because *that* is dead simple, as one would expect. (Note that it’s a lot easier for adults to use Kindles with library ebooks because it’s the adult’s Amazon account.)

This device is golden for our family. My daughter is way more focused on reading since we got it. And she’s become a much better reader. We did have a few growing pains at first. The kids kindle is definitely meant to be a book seller. You can search for books, request them, otc. It has parent controls which weren’t Intuitive for me. We were able to work through technical difficulties though, and I’m really happy with our choice to buy it.
