Image quality is way better than original Blink Doorbell. Looks nice too. Person detection works as expected. Didn't end up using the included sync module since I already had one running my other Blink cameras.

After all the complaints about your misleading claim of being a wired doorbell which we've learned means only wired for the doorbell chime, I mean I'm still in shock after all those complaints you come out with this second generation doorbell camera and you're still unable to use house power instead of batteries to support the doorbell. Really? As far as I'm concerned this isn't worth upgrading to at all!

I have 3 blink cameras and have had them for years. Pros - easy to set up, takes clear videos, if you need help with and issue their customer service is pretty good and the battery life is really good. Cons - There is quite a delay before you get A notification, no matter how close to the sync module/Wifi your camera is, which totally negates talking to anyone they are already gone and it can be intermittent in picking up motion if the subject is small (like a kitten). Like I said my cameras are older, I got them when they first came out. I’m guessing they have improved over the years. Over all I like the camera it mostly does what I got it for.

I’ve been using Blink doorbells for a while now, and decided to upgrade to this one. Overall, I’m happy with it, but there are a few things worth noting if you’re coming from the previous model. First, the video quality during the day doesn’t seem drastically improved l. It’s good, just not a big leap. However, the night video is noticeably better. Much clearer and brighter, which makes a big difference for late-night deliveries or just general peace of mind. One thing I really appreciated is that the app connects to live view much faster now. I’m not sure if that’s thanks to the new doorbell itself or the newer sync module, but the lag I used to experience is basically gone. Big win there. Audio has also improved, the robotic echo that plagued the previous model is not that bad now. Conversations are clearer and more natural, which is great for talking to delivery drivers or guests. Now, about the field of view - yes, it’s a bit wider, but that comes with more distortion around the edges. I installed mine in a narrow hallway, so the wider angle isn’t really useful for me and the distortion is kind of distracting. But if you’re placing it in an open area and want to capture more, you’ll probably see that as a positive. Another drawback is the absence of dual-band WiFi, which is somewhat disappointing given that some competitors have supported 5 GHz WiFi for quite some time. In short, this is a solid upgrade, especially for night vision, audio, and connection speed. Just be aware of the trade-offs if you’re in a tighter space like I am.

I own the previous version of this doorbell, for which battery life is claimed to be up to two years. Try maybe a month or two?

I absolutely love my new ring device! It took us less than half an hour to install and begin using. The app itself is fairly easy to navigate. 10/10 definitely recommend!
