When it comes to this type of hardware, I almost always stick with Amazon basics. The designs are simple, and the price tends to be much more reasonable. This stand isn't super heavy duty, but it's got everything you need if you're just looking to record audio. The arm extends super high to allow for out-of-frame mic placement. Additionally, the arm is further customizable, so if you need it as a mic stand for singing, you can adjust it for sitting or standing.

Your not gonna get the best stand for this price. But seriously, if your careful with your things you will never have a issue with this. It isn’t perfect. It tilts a little. But it’s strong. It hold up my AT2020 a pop filter and a Kaotica Eyeball. Oh and a 25 foot wound up xlr cable. And the mechanics are well built. It just isn’t the sturdiest. If you have wreck-less friends, and a sensitive condenser microphone I’d get a boom arm and avoid things like a alctron pf8 or kaotica eyeball cause it probably wouldnt hold it. But if you have a a place away from cats and dogs, or a dynamic microphone or a strong condenser, this will be perfect. I bought mine cause I don’t have a good place for a boom arm. The plus is being able to hold up a kaotica eyeball. Sorry for the droning long review. I just wanted to emphasize why you should and shouldn’t purchase this in detail. I hope this helps.

Had it for a year or two before it started sagging. Going to try augmenting the discs with some electrical tape to give it more grip. It's well balanced and generally stable. I've been happy with it otherwise.

I use my mic stands for occasional music gigs where I need a small PA . These will do the job very well. What I am not happy with is the UPS driver has started leaving my packages less than 1/2 way up my driveway next to a gate post where they are visible from the road and out in the weather. I have specified that deliveries should be on the front porch out of the weather.

For the price of the stand, it is a good product. However you cannot use it for heavier microphones. I also think that for the price it should come with a stick SM58 clip. The fact that it doesn't defeats the purpose of the stand in the first place. The plastic on the adjustments feel cheap and I can see it being worn out pretty quick. But I have had it for about a month and I often use it to record and place different mics on it.

I am using this boom to hold a Sennheiser MKE 600 shogun mike. The book easily fits on top of a standard trip pod, and the clamps/screws are solid. No bouncing around. Of course, to get this stability you have to screw down the clamps pretty tight, which means the boom is not easily moved at that point. If you want to be able to periodically reach up and move it, you might want to get a more professional version. But for me, where I place it once and don't move it (for a talking head video) it works great!
