The reviews of knives all want a full tang which this has. Sturdy rivets. Non round handle to avoid slipping. Good Steel. High Carbon, but not so much it is brittle. So many of the high end knives can't be used for everyday cutting since this would chip the edge. The fancy unsymmetrical angle of sharping also means it can be difficult of left handed use. This knife is balance at the front bolster where the index finger holds the knife. It is heavy for good cutting and not so heavy as to be manuverable. It arrives pretty sharp and seems hard to sharpen, but then it is hard to dull. It is important to have everyday chores become easy, even fun and this helps in preparing and cooking meals. I will know more once I have used and learned to sharpen it well.

I am quite pleased with this knife so far. It has a good weight and feel to it, the blade is super sharp, and it does not look like a cheapie. I'm happy with it, and hope it holds up for a long time.

Fabulous knife! Very sharp, great balance, solid feel. I bought a WÜSTHOF Classic 8" Chef's Knife 170.00 a year ago and I think this knife is just as good maybe better. Definitely worth the price.

Let's be honest, most of us just want a good quality chef's knife that gets the job done without breaking the bank. And this Amazon Basics 8-incher? It delivers! First off, the quality is legit. The blade is sharp (like, seriously sharp - watch your fingers!), feels sturdy, and has held its edge well so far. No more hacking through veggies like I'm taming a jungle! Plus, the handle is comfy, even after I'm on a kitchen roll. But the real winner here is the price. Let's just say I wasn't expecting Michelin-star quality for the price I paid, but this little guy surprised me. It's become my go-to knife for everything from chopping veggies to slicing meat, and it hasn't let me down once. If you're looking for a no-nonsense, high-quality knife that won't put a dent in your wallet, this is it. Trust me, this Amazon Basics knife is a kitchen hero in disguise!

I collect kitchen knives, and I'm amazed by this one. I have Wusthof and Mac knives. I only used it for one day and will see how long it stays sharp and durable. I recommend this knife for its weight, looks, sharpness, and feel quality. I love the price.

I'm an Old Man, raised in the North amongst people most progressives would demean as primitive. Well, these primitives knew two things, if little else. The benefits of a good knife and the very real threat of Progressivism to their country. I've learned over my 78 years that they knew their stuff on both counts. This knife, which I've used since early December 2023, is a Winner. I can't attest to its Edge HOLDING abilities though. Regular use of both Ceramic Rod and 'Sharpening Steel' (a misnomer, by the way) assure a very sharp and controllable knife. In May of 2024 I gifted one to my daughter. Haven't asked and she's not commented ... know though, I'd have heard any negatives as she's a great and prolific cook. Highly recommended.

This is the best chefs knife I've ever used. Well balanced. Great heft. Cuts effortlessly through tough meats and dense veggies. Holds edge very well. My Sabatier, Henkel and others are benched.

These are actually pretty good for the price. They are difficult to sharpen and keep sharp, but I do about 4 hours of knife work everyday in the kitchen at work, so it takes a lot of work to keep even good quality knives as sharp as I like them to be. If you’re using these to make dinner at home, I would definitely recommend. They are well balanced and well constructed. Only pro for working chefs and cooks is if someone uses this when you’re not looking and bangs it up or steals it, it’s better than them doing that with your Shun or Global or even your Dalsteongs.

Excelente calidad, muy buen filo. Me ahorra mucho tiempo y trabajo al cocinar porque picas y rebañas todo tipo de alimentos en un santiamén. Además tiene muy buen precio. Lo recomiendo.

I bought one for myself and loved it ... solid, well-made, quality steel, balanced and sharp. And the price was less than what I paid for a Henckels paring knife. So I've now bought one for each of my (adult) children. They'll love theirs too.

Very sharp knife as expected, good quality. Delivered on time. Not very handy - little bit too big for me.
