I got this because my previous guitar stand did not have padding. I also like that the legs are a little bit more compact than what I had. When I put my guitar away on this stand it does not make any noise. It is much less noticeable too since it is black. It's a little lighter and flimsier; there aren't any screws holding it together. There is a button on the bottom rack that doesn't have any padding but the guitar will never rest at an angle where it hits that button.

This guitar stand does what it is designed to do. It is sturdy. The only problem my husband has with it is with the easy swivel on the bottom that the guitar sits in. It gets knocked over when he picks up the guitar and he has to flip the swivel back over to re-seat the guitar. Don't know what the swivel arm at the bottom is called, but it's what the guitar sits on. Even though it's easy to flip over, he said if anything happened to it he'd want another one just like this because he can fold it up for easy travel and it's sturdy/well-made.

I own six of these now and they work great for acoustic and electric guitars of several different sizes. It accommodates my full-bodied acoustics, the slimmer Fender Acoustasonics, and electrics (both full sized Les Paul models and Strats/Teles). The strap at the top prevents them from falling forward, which has been an issue with another stand I have. It's easy to break down either partially or fully for ease of storage and travel, so we've taken them on the road a few times.

It does the job, and for the price I’m not going to complain. As long as you don’t have to worry about it potentially being bumped into, it will probably work for you, too. It isn’t the sturdiest otherwise. But for the money…it works.

This is a decent stand but you definitely get what you pay for. The bottom arms (which can fold for transport or storage) are held together with cheaper hardware. There is a rough edge on the main nut that holds them together. There is a small piece of rubber that is loosely attached to the end to prevent damage should you find a a way to get the edges of the guitar body near it. Basically, you’re counting on all that hardware to hold up the instrument, so take a look at it before you throw your expensive rig in it. The foam, that covers all the contact points, is fairly thin but should last a while with average use. The head folds down also. I’m not a fan of how loose that connection is so I modified it to stay securely in place. It’s fine for $13, I guess, but I won’t buy another. I like to keep a stand in all the rooms. This way, I can roam, and play for tips anywhere in the house.

A cheap basic guitar stand for the grand kids does the job for guitars with a lacquered finish it holds the guitar well acoustic, semi acoustic or solid bodied. I wouldn't trust my Gibson on one though nitrocellulose finish and cheap rubber don't mix
