I'm quite impressed with the quality of this TV for being so cheap ($249 at the time of purchase). The TV has excellent Image quality whether it's using Prime and Pluto via the TV itself, or connected to my PC or home media server depending on the display settings, I'd recommend that you avoid the "dynamic setting" for most media or turndown "action smoothing" to zero to avoid that ugly cheap soap opera look. As for audio, I'm satisfied with the built-in speaker and audio pre-set options and don't see the need to invest in a soundbar or other equipment unless you're a serious audiophile. At this time I haven't used the Alexa feature for this product. Pros: >Great picture quality >Great Audio quality >Reasonable price >Easy to physically set up >Simple to set up and connect your Amazon account Cons: >It's a smart device, which always poses potential security risks General information: I'd highly recommend that go into preferences and turn off data collection and targeted adds under privacy immediately after your initial setup before you do anything else, though this may not effect third-party services available on this product.

Overall, I like this. This may be the same model I've already purchased two of, but not reviewed, or a close "variant". I love my Fire TVs though I felt that the earlier ones lacked enough space for applications. This is one I purchased for a different reason. I'm using it as a computer monitor. You have to be careful on this and if you're one who plays games, this might not be for you. It's absolutely NOT snappy fast as game players need, but for me doing my usual academic work (i.e. -grading) and setting up virtual machines and such, it's absolutely fine. I will say that I made the decision to buy it based on another user's review that it was suitable as a computer monitor and handled text well enough, which not all smart televisions can do when being used as a monitor. Pros Easy setup Has a nice picture, and adds HDR when being used as a computer monitor Has ample storage to add apps (around 12 GB) Cons It can get a little strange as a computer display. You might find your scaling changed, may find you need to modify your refresh. Don't try and overdo it even if it's got refresh rate above 60 Hz, as mine showed. In my own tests, it appears to cause the screen to periodically blank out. Overall, I like it and I'd recommend it. The photo shown is me using it as a computer monitor.

I've owned the 43 inch fire tv now for over 2 years and I've been overall very pleased with it for the price. The picture is vibrant and beautiful, and it has pretty decent features , I use the sleep timer nightly. As with most flat screen tv's an area where it lacks is in the audio. It sounds fine for what it is but for me the volume what a bit low depending on the source. On YouTube the volume can be quite adequate depending on the video but on regular apps like Netflix, hulu, fandango and Amazon you might want to boost it up with a nice speaker system or sound bar. I happened to already have a small speaker system with a sub woofer used for a TV, game system, or pc and it works perfectly in my case. The only other thing that's a downside and something I find quite annoying honestly is that it has built in firetv software but it is very much lacking in the memory department. It gets achingly slow sometimes and I've done everything I've seen on videos to speed it up. I would say if I did it again I might buy a separate streaming system that I had more control over the memory. If Amazon would double the size of the memory or at the very least make it expandable so that it ran fast and smooth without slowing down and bogging down I'd be very happy. Now let me be clear here.. The movies and TV shows play perfectly the slowness and bogging down I'm referring to is the menu and apps. Other than those couple of minor things, I think it is a great tv for the price.
