I recently purchased the Amazon Smart Plug and it works exactly as intended. Setting it up was incredibly easy, and it seamlessly integrates with Alexa. I primarily use it for my lamp, and it's fantastic to be able to control the lighting with simple voice commands. The convenience of turning my lamp on and off without having to get up adds a significant level of comfort to my daily routine. This smart plug is especially useful for making my home appear occupied when I'm away. I highly recommend this smart plug to anyone looking to enhance their home automation—it does exactly what it promises!

So I’m kind of new to the amazon device family. We just got our echo a few months ago. I’ve been a prime member for over 10 years so I’m familiar with how amazon has changed life as we knew it (for me anyway). I saw the amazon smart plug when I was searching for any brand smart plug that had Alexa control with it. It’s been in my cart saved for later for at least a month! I finally decided to just pre order it so that I could review it and hopefully help other people that are like me and have fallen way behind in the tech field. For reference I’m an almost 34 year old mom of 2. This means that my 8 year old stole my iPad, iMac, and I haven’t had a computer of my own in about 4 years! So I do everything from my iPhone. I’ve had some weird issues with our echo and my Alexa app that it will just randomly pause a song so I’m not sure what that is about. ANYWAY! I received my new amazon smart plug the day it was released (so glad it’s not like a new iPhone or PlayStation where people camp out ahead of time or do people still do this??). It was easier than I expected but harder than was described in the listing because my Alexa didn’t just recognize it. Setup: Since my Alexa didn’t recognize it on its own, I had to unplug the smart plug and quickly scan the code on the back of the plug, then plug it back in fast so that when it scanned for it it would see it plugged in. After that it was very simple. I was able to plug in my baby monitor and then tell Alexa to “turn off plug one” and it turned off! It is so cool! Future: I think homes will end up being built with these right into the electrical system. Maybe they already are. Comparing: With so many different brands offering smart plugs with Alexa integration I can’t see myself buying any more than 1 for $25. Too many are 2 for $20. While it’s nice to have the amazon support backing this up, I just can’t afford to fill my home with them at such a high cost comparative to other brands that do the same exact thing. Overall: If you can afford to fill your plugs with these then do! This smart plug is easy and awesome! But if you’re on a tight budget like I am, I would try a different brand first and see if those will work just as well. Every time I purchase something online, I always check the reviews. I count on others to help me choose the best option. My reviews are always my honest opinion and I try to include photos if possible. I have my living room lamps plugged into this. Setup was automatic and easy, and it always works with voice commands, even if I am talking over the TV. I wish I could think of more things I need to have voice control over.

I have only been using this for less than a week but it's already been a lifesaver. I am a massage therapist and I have a hot towel cabi in my office. I am always paranoid that I left it on even though I double & triple check before I leave, and have even drove back to my office a few times to make sure. I decided I needed one of these at least for the peace of mind and I am so glad I did. It was super easy to set up, took a few minutes if that. I don't really use alexa but I have the echo glow in my office so I was already familiar with the app. Now I can turn on both devices with one click or voice command. It's makes thing really simple & convenient. Of course there is also the bonus of being able to turn the warmer on in advance so the warmer on & ready when I get to the office. This is extremely convenient for me, especially if I am running late, and another reason why I wanted one of these. I hope I don't have the issues I've read in some of the other comments but so far it's been working seamlessly.

I really like these Amazon Smart Plugs! They work perfectly with my Alexa devices, and I love being able to schedule them to turn on and off at specific times. One of my favorite uses is placing them in my kids' rooms so I can turn their lights off without having to physically walk to their rooms — it’s a total game-changer for bedtime routines. The setup was super easy, and the connection is reliable. I’ve only had one instance where one of the plugs randomly stopped connecting to WiFi, but since then, I haven’t had any issues at all. They’ve been working flawlessly. Key Features: Alexa Integration: Works seamlessly with Alexa for voice control and scheduling. Scheduling: I can set specific times for lights or devices to turn on and off automatically. Remote Control: I can control the lights in my kids' rooms from anywhere in the house. What I Love: Works perfectly with Alexa for voice control and scheduling. Makes bedtime routines easier by letting me control lights in my kids' rooms remotely. Reliable connection — I’ve only had one WiFi issue, but it hasn’t happened again. What I Don’t Love: Bulky Design: They’re a little bulky, which can make it tricky to fit 2 plugs into one outlet. WiFi Connection Glitch: One of my plugs randomly disconnected from WiFi once, but it hasn’t happened again. If you’re looking for a smart, simple way to control lights or devices in your home, these smart plugs are a great choice. They work flawlessly with Alexa, and the scheduling feature is super convenient. I just wish they weren’t so bulky so I could use two plugs in one outlet more easily. Despite that, I’ll definitely be buying more for other rooms in my house!
