So, I decided to get an Apple Watch after my Garmin broke in a restaurant over the holidays. Not to get into it, but their support was horrible and I decided to jump ship. Purchased an 8SE in January and it was great— but I didn’t realize that the SE doesn’t have a keyboard for typing. Returned and purchased this series 7 cellular later in January for about $20-$30 more than the SE was. It was a certified refurbished purchase and, while it was not eligible for Apple care, it was sold with a comparable 2 year warranty with Amazon. I was a bit nervous, but it came in perfect condition with a perfect battery. I do have to charge every day, or every 2 days if I remember to turn on low power and other energy-saving modes at night. I don’t wear in bed. About 10 months in I’m at 94% battery capacity from 100% when I got it. Do I wish it stayed charged longer? Sure! I have to remember to charge it if it’s low and I’m planning on working out, but you just get used to it. Glad I purchased cellular because, even though I didn’t connect it for months, it gave me the option. I hope to keep the watch long term. Glad I took the chance with return because I’ve had no issues! Series 7 is fantastic and has everything I need (fitness tracking with metrics, general productivity, texts/replies on my watch), and it looks way better than the Garmin as a general watch. Very easy to swap bands for different occasions or outfits, and there are many options available out there. I like that I can go from leather band to fabric/silicone easily if I’m getting to work out after work. (As an aside, silver hardware is the better choice generally for Starlight over gold or rose gold if you’d like to match reasonably well) I like to run, do general functional strength training and yoga, and I’ve been happy with Apple for these things. Plus, it connects to the elliptical at the gym, and runs simultaneous timers when cooking! I recommend both the watch (over my old forerunner 635 and the AW8 SE) and Amazon refurbished.

So this was a super value, has the EKG option which is very cool, that's why we chose this older model. The refurbished quality actually seemed new, except for the large Apple box which seemed particularly heavy duty and expensive. The green silicon watchband is beautiful, and so comfortable. And, sigh - it's fun to stick the band on the little stainless button. Wanted the universal sized band, but this turned out to be even better. Whoever designed this Apple watchband deserves kudos. As for the watch itself, seemed absolutely new with no scratches, marks, nothing. Bright, beautiful screen, all the apps, etc. easy to navigate. Works seamlessly with the iphone where you can get sleep details, health, exercise, heart, info taken from the watch. This model does not have cellular, but totally don't need as a phone is more than sufficient. Recharges in minutes with a magnet. The price for this was fantastic! Couldn't tell the difference from new, works perfectly so far. Does everything well, a great model, 7th generation.

#1- BATTERY HEALTH @79% Not at the >90% as advertised for a “Excellent “ reconditioned watch #2-terrible packaging. Sent in oversized box and watch loose in box. I will say that the overall condition of watch was good. Only one minor scratch on case.

Luckily, this came in seemingly unaffected negatively in every aspect. Battery health was 100%, no scratches or marks or anything out of the ordinary on the screen, device, or bands. Charging works fine. The always on display is a game changer if you’re active or working throughout the day. The bezels on the watch are so minimal it’s amazing. Battery is good, my battery tends to decrease only 30 - 35% in an eight hour period directly after I take it off of charge. My maximum capacity on battery health is still at 100% after months of use. The most useful qualities I see in the watch after months of use are as follows: -I never miss a notification now, from the vibration and/or sound the watch makes when I get one -Activity tracking, tracking how many calories I burn daily -The sleep settings I can enable to wake me up with an alarm at any time -controlling my music on my wrist There’s a reason why Apple Watch is the best selling smartwatch of all time. And I think the series 7 is a great pick which will last you a long time. The only notable benefits you get with the 8, 9, and ultra are brighter screens, a few more apps, and slightly thinner bezels.

Compared to my 1st gen SE, the Series 7 has heart monitoring for AFib, a great display, and longer battery life. Also, the vendor, CSNY shipped it faster than expected and accepted the return without questions. My decision in returning it is that Apple might discontinue support as they did the SE. I'll wait until Black Friday and get a Series 10.
