I am super happy with this purchase. I've been wanting a deep freezer for extra storage of food. My current freezer is packed like Tetris so this extra freezer is very helpful. I had previously purchased another one but it's was 5 cu ft but that one got "LOST" in shipping and was issued a refund thru Amazon. I kept searching and searching and everything was going up to $700+ for the exact item I wanted. Until I found this. Before, everything was overpriced or sold out. I jumped on this and prayed I would receive. It was a few days late of delivery date but I did receive and installed immediately. I placed in my pantry and plugged in. I'm super happy. I place my frozen veggies in it. This item has a three prong plug. I have an outlet in my pantry but it's only two prong so I had to use an extension cord. It works perfectly fine. I have it placed on the floor of my pantry. And even though I had originally ordered a 5 cu ft deep freezer and didn't receive that one, this 1 cu ft deep freezer is just fine. I'm just happy I finally have one especially during this pandemic when we are on lockdown and meat factories are closing so it's best to stock up on what you can.

I read all the reviews and though I was concerned mildly about it arriving scratched or dented, it arrived flawlessly without any dings, scratches or dents whatsoever. And I looked based on reviews. This freezer is incredible really, it is exactly what it should be. Thankfully I was considering this purchase before COVID affected us, in fact I ordered it about 2 weeks before we had any idea COVID was going to happen, and very luckily so. It arrived on a Friday, I went to Costco that Saturday, and by Monday/Tuesday, the world was now a completely different world and my work had issued a work from home order here in Texas. The timing was nothing but epic to now have more stored food for the harsh times to come. I will say, it is kind of annoying not having a digital thermostat to give an indication of what temperature you are setting it to, but a handy thermometer in the unit is perfect insurance to knowing it is cold enough in there. Minor complaint, and at this price, it is definitely nitpicking. A 2 dollar thermometer hanging in the freezer was an easy fix, which I ordered along with the unit to watch all my fridge and this extended unit. So far weeks after purchasing, about 11 weeks now, it is working flawlessly, not terribly noisy, and I love how it matched the height of my countertops in the kitchen and looks at home at the end of the counter space. Easy access versus sitting in the garage. It takes up a very convenient footprint I must say.

We have a main freezer in the garage that is bigger than this one. With the onset of COVID and the need to stock-up, we needed another one. We had only a small space left in the garage next to the stairs to come into the house. All the local retail stores were sold out. This came pretty timely, considering the overload on supply chains in general. The packaging was good, and it the handling to keep it upright was adhered too. It works like a champ. There was a little damage to a plastic grate that goes on the back of the freezer. A few slats broken. It is not a functional piece, but a protective piece. Not severe enough to make it completely unusable. We have it stocked full and it is up to the task. Love the wire basket that fits on one side to hold some smaller items, or things you want to get to without digging.

Click to play video For the money, this freezer is really great! I've had it for about 10 days. It was inexpensive and it fits my space perfectly. It gets really cold and freezes things more quickly than the freezer on my fridge. All the other reviews on this brand say that it showed up with some damage/denting. Mine was no exception. I think it's just made with a thinner steel than the more expensive brands. I could really care less, since there was about a $300 price difference. It was also one of the only ones I could get in the 5.5 cf range that came in black. Nice freezer works well so far :)

Purchased on 08Apr20 & delivered 16Apr20. Freezer is by Artic King 5.0 cu ft and not by Home Joy. Nice sized deep freezer to add to your home. It’s about the size of a dishwasher and doesn’t take too much space. I’m 5’3” and it stands at waist height to me. It’s a top loader and not awkward to bend in & reach bottom of unit. Perfect for 1-3 person household. It arrived two days into the six day delivery window I was quoted. It was packaged & insulated well, no dents or noticeable damage. It’s pretty light, about 60lbs, but I still used a dolly to maneuver. Instructions & manual found inside freezer. Comes with one hanging basket. Manual defrost, comes with a scraper. Price was inflated, so it lost a star. Has a turn temp dial at the bottom with no light indicator. The dial is pretty basic with no degree documentation. An external digital thermometer is necessary if you need to gauge the temp specifically. No lock. The underside has two leveling legs that you should adjust before you load your food to ensure stability. Device is fairly silent. I plugged mine in and let sit for 24 hrs before I added food. So far, no noted mechanical issues.

I live in a 2 bed apartment and do not have a lot of extra space in garage for a full size freezer and don;t need a full size freezer because its just the two of us. We needed extra freezer space as the small freezer on top of refer just isn't enough to store more foods we want to have on hand and be able to take full advantage of the sales out there. This is a great value and works perfect. Takes up so little space but is perfect for buying more items on sale and freezing them for later use. I love it. I know the money I have saved on food purchased already has more than paid for this freezer.
