My father was a machinist mate in and flew in the navy's version of the B-24 in the Pacific during WWII. He was a waist gunner during combat missions where his crew were recognized as having downed more Japanese aircraft, (7), than any other four engine aircraft in the Pacific conflict. Your book was a great source of information for me and pride in my father and his crewmates.

This does a good job of describing the unsung workhorse of a bomber that was the B24. The B17 got the glory and the movies. The poor B24 got Ploiesti. It is a great capture of the bomber and it's too many variants, for one that really only had 3 models in mass production. Good illustrations znd photos as I have come to expect from this publisher.

All of the "In Action Series" are very good value for your money. You get short but thorough developmental history, plenty of B&W photos and color examples as well. The best thing about these books is they show you with drawings and photos the differences between versions of the plane. This book is excellent for modlers and those who want a quick authoritative read on an interesting weapon system that helped the Allies win the war. Great for the price, definately recommend the book.

Typical of this publishers "In Action" series with good photographic coverage, basic descriptive text at a reasonable price. This book is especially comprehensive because it includes the Naval variants and the B-32 follow-on. Not the final word here but still a fine introduction.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a great help for history and for model building.

This is the second book I've bought from this series. I bought it for a friend in order to get lots of pictures and a summary of all the technical specifications. Probably not aimed at someone who wants an exhaustive description of the aircraft but still a very interesting book.
