Click to play video I recently purchased the Black and Decker mini portable washer, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. This compact machine is a game changer for anyone living in an apartment or with limited space. It washes clothes remarkably well, delivering clean and fresh results every time. The convenience of being portable means I can easily move it around as needed, and it fits perfectly in my laundry area without taking up too much space. The setup was straightforward, and I was impressed by how quickly it fills up and starts washing. Despite its small size, it has a surprisingly large capacity, allowing me to wash multiple items at once. The wash cycles are efficient, and I love how quiet it operates compared to traditional washers. Overall, the Black and Decker mini portable washer has exceeded my expectations, making laundry day a breeze. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and effective washing solution!

I love this washer, it is perfect for my small rental. I put it on a rollable cart and its very easy to roll into my bathroom and hook up to wash laundry. With my particular sink I did have some issues keeping the water drain hose in place, so I ended up zip-tying it to the intake hose, which worked pretty well. It can hold a surprising amount of clothes for its size. I can get maybe about 3-5 full outfits in the wash depending on the type of clothing. It seems to clean just as well as any full-sized washing machine, and often better, especially compared to those found in laundromats. The spin cycle also works great and leaves the clothes already fairly dry, which helps since I just hang-dry them afterwards. The default mode only takes about 65 minutes to wash the clothes fully, but even the faster 30 minute mode still cleans great. Durability is good and its held up well. The only slight problem I've had is that a small part of the plastic outer coating has peeled off, right where they had affixed the efficiency notice at the factory. Otherwise no issues. Overall I would recommend this washer if you need something small and compact and don't have much room.

So I specifically bought this to bucket fill… I live off grid and don’t have any water source to directly hook it to. I have also had the Japanese style ones where there’s a wash cycle on one side and a spin on the other and they’re AWFUL. This is much much better. I had seen a couple reviews stating that they bucket fill this one, but not much info about water usage doing that or how it works, so here’s what I’ve learned so far (please note, this is for the largest model offered): The system seems to be weight based. Given that it’s hooked up to nothing I can hear the intake pump running at the beginning of a cycle. This will continue until the unit has enough water in it, but how does it know? I played around a lot and decided it’s gotta be weight based, which correlates with the size of load you’re running. So, I put my wash settings on “normal”, change the load size to small, add about 8 gallons of water + the drum 3/4 filled with clothes will get it to start. You’ll see the time for the wash drop from 37 minutes to 34 as soon as it’s got enough water. The cycle size you choose will affect how much water it wants, so I always choose “small” for size and this cuts down on how much water I use. The same thing happens on the rinse cycle. It drains the water from the wash cycle and wants another 8 gallons to do the rinse cycle. At this point it really depends what I’m washing if I choose to do this or not. I have a geriatric dog that makes a whole lot of laundry throughout the week, and for those items I don’t really worry about the rinse cycle. I’ll let the system run through the beginning of the rinse cycle where it is draining most of the wash water off, pause the program, turn the washer off and back on, and then put it on the “spin only” cycle. This cycle is automatically 27 minutes but I usually run it for about 10 and then stop it again. I use those little $3 Walmart micro fleece blankets for him and after 10 minutes in spin only they come out almost completely dry and smelling super fresh. I’ll hang them on a rack in front of a box fan and they’re bone dry within an hour. I also have a regular household pillow for him as a dog bed and that will spin out and dry super fast (2-3 hours) with the same method. This machine will hold two of the fleece blankets and the pillow at the same time, and get everything very clean on the normal cycle, small size. For my clothes I do want a rinse cycle so when the washer changes from wash to rinse I’ll let it drain the wash water, add another 8 gallons, and let the rinse cycle run. The main thing I listen for is if the inlet pump is trying to run. If it is, add more water. You’ll have to pause the system every time you’re adding more water or you’ll get an “E3” error, which just means the lid is open. So, all in all, it is kind of hands on if you’re a bucket filler. It uses between 8-16 gallons of water on small cycle depending on if you want to do a rinse cycle. Based on other reviews I was cautious to have the drain inlet at the proper height. I drain it to my bathroom sink and it works great. If it’s too low it won’t hold water, too high and the pump isn’t strong enough to drain. The drain hose has a nice moveable gooseneck on it and the power of the pump has yet to be so strong it kicks the gooseneck out of the sink, which has been my biggest fear. Despite the hands on nature of it, I really love it. It took me about a week of use, using it 2-3x a day to where I felt really comfortable not just standing over it staring and learning the sounds it’s making to know when it needs my attention. Living in a small space I can just attend to it while I’m doing other chores and it doesn’t feel like a pain. This may depend on how much you hate the laundromat or how much access you have to one. There’s only one laundromat nearby but this woman runs a wash and fold out of it and will tie up all the machines until about 3 pm, and then the rest of the community has a mad dash to try to get their stuff in so it feels like sometimes there’s a laundromat nearby, but it’s a huge source of stress to try to time my day around it’s availability. Other pros: it is really really quiet. I’ll run it at night while my s/o is sleeping and it doesn’t bother them at all. Whether you use the rinse cycle or not everything comes out smelling incredibly fresh. If you want to soak anything, just put it all in with water, soak as long as you want, then run the cycle as you see fit. Will definitely be keeping.

It arrived on time, no damage. Its not very heavy at all. I was able to pull it up 3 steps and into my camper. I bought this for our small space living. Doing the camper thing (by choice, not by circumstances). Unpacking it was easy. Set up was a breeze. I didnt even have to open the owners manual to figure this out and I am not appliance or plumbing savvy. This machine has very easy hookups. I hooked it up to my kitchen sink faucet, put the drain hose in the sink, threw a tide pod in the drum, loaded it up, turned it on, selected normal and hit start. 32 minutes later, my clothes were done, smelled clean, felt clean, I was honestly on cloud 9. This was exactly what I was looking for in a clothes washer. It just doesnt get easier then this. This machine is a must if you are doing the camper, tiny house style of living. I also purchased a retractable clothes line for indoors for days when weather does not permit outdoor clothes line drying. You wont regret getting this machine. Its worth the money. These reviews about drainage and error codes probably do not apply to this model .09 cubic ft washer by Black and Decker

The machine can hold a significant amount of laundry for its size (15 pounds) - which is why I purchased this. It is notably good quality and smart looking so it does not look out of place outside of a closet, in the open, as pictured. That’s hard to find as most top loaders could not pull off a “nice looking” aesthetic. Spin cycle is great and leaves clothes very dry. It came with all necessary attachments to have this up and running in 5 minutes from opening the box. Well packaged and not a scratch on it when delivered (rurally, even). Really impressed with this machine so far! Would certainly recommend. If it holds up to time and usage I would recommend this machine based on specs as it currently outperforms anything in its size/weight capacity and I did a lot of research prior to purchase. Will update review if I note any unreasonable failures.

Purchased this compact washer for next summer when we set up our new RV. I am truly amazed by this small washer. It is currently set up in my laundry room at home. I use my home washer for larger loads and have used the Black and Decker compact for smaller loads to test it out. I am thrilled with it. Best decision to purchase it. I can pick it up easily although I decided to purchase a dolly for it. It is easy to move, easy to use, quiet and efficient. I will continue to use it over the winter for smaller loads. Word of advice to anyone buying….remember to not overload and use the right quantity of HE laundry soap. It is a wonderful machine so read the manufacturer’s instructions and don’t treat it like a full size machine. I love mine.

There’s no washer or even plumbing for one in my old apartment suite, and no laundromats nearby either. This washer has been a total game changer. It works better than any I’ve used before, and I’m so happy I can finally have clean clothes at home. It was super easy to set up. I got the 3.0 Cu model and it’s huge. It fits a queen-sized comforter or a bunch of towels with no problem.

I am absolutely in love with this machine. I live in an apartment and washing clothes is super expensive and a real pain. This was an upgrade from a Panda that lasted 3 washes before the spinner detached on one side, it was a problem from the beginning. In contrast the Black and Decker is dependable, quiet, and washes clothes better than the front load washers in our laundry room. I couldn't be happier and can't recommend it enough. Worth every penny!!
