Click to play video I bought this paper shredder to shred through medical documents and highly sensitive information. For under $30, I expected low quality, but this thing’s a powerhouse. It shredded through cardboard like it was nothing, multiple stacks of paper with staples in them, and even plastic. I didn't bother with the add-ons since I wasn't expecting to use this product daily, but I think the micro-cuts would be a great addition. But without the micro-cuts, this shredder still does its job and it does it very well. Emptying the bin is a breeze but the strips pile up fast. I find myself pushing the strips down manually just so I don't have to empty frequently, which I don't mind. If your looking for a budget friendly shredder, this is a must have!

Trust me...don't do what I did! I was so happy to have a new shredder in the house to get rid of the mail building up that I jumped right in and started shredding like a mad woman! I almost ruined the shredder within the first hour. Stop! Take the time to open every piece of mail and take out the extra envelopers, flyers, etc. Throw out anything that doesn't have your personal info on it and only shred the stuff with personal info. This may take time if you have a large shred pile, but once you get a handle on it, it will go quickly. When you're finally ready to shred the personal documents, I would only do 2 sheets at a time, folded. I know it says 6 sheets only at at time, but if you try to shred that many, you may experience what I did, and that was a massive paper jam. Although not recommended, I had to pry the papers out of the blades with scissors and pliers. I thought my new shredder was a goner! Luckily I got it working again and decided to try again. This time, as mentioned above, I removed all the unnecessary papers from the stuff that really needed to be shredded. Since doing this, the shredder has worked like a charm and I haven't had any problems. This is a great shredder for the price, as it shreds a single document into hundreds of pieces of confetti. (This would also be great if you actually needed confetti...just shred some colored paper and you've got instant confetti) For the price and security of having all your personal info gone, you can't beat this shredder!

My previous Micro Shredder stopped working. I had it for 8 years and I loved it. It had all the best features. When I started looking for a new shredder of equal quality I was price shocked. When I saw this shredder I was drawn in by the extremely low price. Secondly, it is a Micro-Cut shredder which is important. I have been a victim of identity fraud in the past and making sure my documents are properly destroyed is important. I figured, what do I have to loose ? If I buy it and it does not work I can send it back. If it breaks I have not lost a large amount of money. Yet, they offer a low cost added warranty. I just received it. I shredded a large pile of papers. The machine did a good job. My suggestion is to take it slow when feeding the shredder. I fed it slowly inserting one to four pages at a time. It never over heated and it kept running. So many people buy products and push them to the limit and wonder why they fail. The product is not big bulky or heavy. There are only two parts, the shredder and the basket. Other shredders offer larger baskets to catch the waste; the other shredders can shred CD's: the other shredders can shred up to 12 pages; the other shredders offer instructional CD software and lubricating sheets. Do you really need all that ? Do you really want to pay extra for all that ? I suggest giving it a try. I would give it more than three stars but like I said I have had it only one day. I will continue to use it and offer an update at a later date. Happy Shredding. !!!! Update--I have had it for a few months now and it still is working great. No problems. "Great Purchase"

I spent a whole morning with this piece of junk trying to shred 1000 pages and this is my objective review: Bottom line: Unless you are scared of someone going through your recycling (or trash, or guinea pig cage, depending on how green you are) and then painstakingly lining up slivers of your documents like a scene from the movie "Argo" to steal your information then I suggest you simply get a strip cut shredder such as the Amazon basics one: AmazonBasics 8-Sheet Strip-Cut Paper, CD, and Credit Card Shredder which is so much more practical. I did a head to head comparison with my daughter's older version of the Amazon Basics strip cutter simply because I was forced to because of the poor performance of this Bonsaii shredder.. This machine struggles with even 3 sheets of regular office paper and jams up almost as soon as you start to use it. It also overheats before the bin is even full and the thermal cut out takes about 15 minutes to reset. When working it does shred the paper, or rather slices and mangles it, but is it worth the effort? It does NOT shred paper cleanly into 5/32" x 15/32" pieces as suggested on the outer box - not even close - many pieces were a few inches long and just mangled (see photo). Note: There is no separate forward button when the blades jam (and they will) but I found that if you slide it in reverse and then forward and repeat this several times it does help to unclog the paper from the blades. Compare this to the cheaper strip cutter which accepts 8 sheets at a time complete with stapled corners and which powered through over 500 sheets of continuous use before the thermal cut out operated. Note that the strip shredder did not jam once. Conclusion - I can see this being only useful for occasional use and for tiny documents of 1-3 pages. If you really think you need the added security of shredded and mangled paper rather than strip cut paper and can put up with having to unjam the blades every time you use it then I guess this is for you. But to be honest you may be better off with a box of matches... (Review written while waiting for the thermal cut out to reset... yet again)

This is not a difficult review to write or a four star rating to be give BUT context has to be provided.... This shredder was bought as a gift for a family at home who would only have occasional need for shredding a few papers at a time. ^^^^ The above is kinda important and hence the four star rating for this capable, and yet not robust, shredder. In operation this shredder is about as noisy as others we have used. What is apparent is that it is not design with high or continued use with close to its rated maximum capacity of paper. However its price did reflect that when we bought this and it matched the intended use that it was put to. The cross cut pieces are well defined and not strung together, in other words it cuts consistently and their pieces are small enough in the bin as advertised. We did recommend to our daughter that it is occasionally cleaned, after unplugging the unit they flip the top over to clean out the mechanism from clogging up random pieces of paper. Now and again they have also used "Swordfish shredder oil" to run through a piece of paper smeared with that lubricant. I reckon that the lube is important as paper tends to have a "powder" or something applied to keep the sheets from sticking to each other. This causes the mechanism in the shredder to become quite dry, it used to be an issue also with printers and the rubber drive rollers would become coated and not be able to grip the paper to pull it through. With the above intended use in mind and the capability of this type of shredder and its price I do recommend it. However if you expect or need more industrious and durable shredder then I would consider looking elsewhere as you might well be disappointed with this particular model. It pays to research and do some reading before buying a shredder, more so if you are wanting to use them regularly, also take the quoted maximum paper handling of most paper shredders with a pinch of salt and you'll be fine. Hope this review helps.

Bought to replace an aged Rexel shredder that finally gave up the ghost, this is an excellent and compact piece of kit. When it came out of the box it looked rather small and I was concerned that it's capacity might be a little too small. Not a bit of it. It micro-shreds into much smaller pieces than my old Rexel cross-cut shredder and so it actually has a larger capacity in real use than the Rexel. Smaller pieces, so much more compact and incidentally, more secure,, whereas the Rexel filled the bucket with air and larger pieces. It's not very quiet, but much less noisy than the Rexel was. It genuinely will shred 6 sheets at a time, but like all domestic shredders it's not for constant use. If you run it too long, there is a thermal cut out which stops the cutting until the motor cools down. Realistically, unless you are shredding an entire office full of stuff, it's more than adequate. It would probably cut through a staple if you accidentally left one on the paper, but it's not designed for it, so you should be careful. It won't cut credit cards or CDs either and it won't shred Mail-Lite bags (I ripped some open and pulled off the plastic bubbles before shredding the labels. That works). I'm very happy with it and having just checked online, it's a Which Best Buy too. So if you want an inexpensive, compact and effective shredder, for domestic use, I would recommend this one.

I needed a decent shredder to start getting rid of files of paperwork accumulated over the years. I was content with something good enough for home use, that turned my confidential waste into confetti (rather than ribbons) and which was reliable but not too big. Having read many reviews, I settled on the Bonsaii C560-D, having also considered the slightly bigger Bonsaii C156-C model. I thought the price was very fair for both models. I am pleased to report that the C560-D seems perfectly adequate for my purposes, and does what it says on the tin. Easy to set up - take it out the box, put the teeth onto the tub, plug it in and turn it on. Then start feeding your paper. It is supposed to only be used continuously for 2 minutes before giving it a break, but I assume that recommendation is for when you are trying to do the maximum of six sheets of paper at a time, as I managed to keep shredding non stop for half an hour whilst just feeding one sheet at a time. It didn't automatically shut down during this prolonged use, there were no jams, and a tub full of confetti at the end of it :o) So I think if you are patient and careful, this should work fine for low/moderate use. One file done, about 12 more to do.....

I've been using this shredder for 3 days now and not a single paper jam! Not meaning to be cynical, but that's not bad as these things go. It is very compact. My only concern is that I'll forget to stop shredding after 6 minutesand begin to have problems with the motor. But I like it fine so far. Amazon's delivery service is another story...First delivery failed with no notice through the door though they claimed to have been here... 1 day wasted. 2nd day I was virtually sitting on the stairs waiting. Then heard a tell tale sound of a card dropping. Ran down and found a tried to deliver card. I ran outside and 2 guys in the delivery van sain thay had been to my house, but admittedto not having tried the doorbell. Sorry, Amazon, but not good enough.

Early days yet, but I read a lot of comments on lots of shredders both good and bad on all different price ranges. I decided to go for this one and thought if it stops working I haven't wasted to much money. I have not tried 6 sheets fact I put in an old wage slip that came in a small brown envelope (remember those from many years ago) and the cutters sound like they was struggling. I have been sitting here putting one sheet at a time through ( I find this quite therapeutic, sad I know), and can shred for about 15 - 20 minutes before it over heats and stops. After 15 - 20 minutes cool down I can go back to it. As with any shredder I think you have to take your chance.
