Where do I start? This shredder did not jam once. This 12-cut micro shredder shredded everything I gave it to cut. No way any personal data is salvageable with this machine. The security aspect is "spot on!" There is no piecing together something like they do in the movies. Plus, I saved money purchasing this shredder from Amazon. Bottom line: so far, it has worked as advertised. Holds a ton of shredded material. I have to say, though, I was not speed-feeding items as I wanted to go slowly to get the feel of what it could do. My next step is to "go for it," and push through loads of flyers, envelopes - post cards and all other stuff to test the 40-minute claim speed. I must say, it is a little disconcerting to see it "back cut" which slows down the input, but the manual says that's the way the machine clears any possible paper jams and resharpens the cutter blades. I viewed other 12-cut micro shredders for lots more money, hopefully, I have gotten a good deal and a good product. Stay tuned. Well, went at using my shredder full-throttle: This thing is quiet, and it hummed along for 20-minutes flat out! No hiccups - nothing - just shredding its heart out! I am totally satisfied with my purchase.

When I received the shredder for my church, I was so excited and started shredding old envelopes from 2 years ago. It was awesome! Then I started shredding financial reports from 5 years ago and that's when I saw an issue. When I would stop shredding, the shredder would continue to run forward and then it stopped and started running in reverse. The problem with that is, all the paper that had not dropped would come back up to the top of shredder and created a jam. I had to clear it out in order to shred more paper. So, I started lightly pressing the lever after a few shreds to make it think I was shredding and it would clear any paper that had not dropped. That is time consuming and I was disappointed with that. I wish there was a way to turn the auto reverse off.

A nicely designed and reasonably quiet shredder. The bin size is good, although now I wish I would have gotten the next larger size. But, all in all, I'm very satisfied with the operation and style of the machine. The stated run time is what also sold me on this unit, given as 60 minutes, is impressive. Although I don't think I have ever run any shredder for more than 10 minutes at a time, it must be a pretty good motor to advertise it as they state.

FIRST, THIS IS NOT SPONSORED OR COMMISSIONED - Just writing the kind of review I like to read if I were still searching for a shredder :) Stop looking & buy this :) - I did all that so you don't have to! (imho). Have owned other shredders for sensitive documents etc & wanted a top of the line. THIS SHREDDER: MICRO-CUT = The better cut, it's like tiny confetti, not strips that could be glued back together. TINY-SIZED MICRO-CUT "CONFETTI" = This one micro cuts to a tiny size; better since the whole purpose is to shred for security reasons QUIET = 60 db (imho) Not loud. I sat right in front of it & could've talked on my phone at the same time. So, you could also use this is one room & it wouldn't hinder anyone else sleeping or watching TV etc in another area. GOOD SIZE = 5.3 gallon means you could shred 480pages before you need to empty it. Big enough to shred & hold a bunch, but not so big that you can't make is discreet in a room or home office EASY SETUP = Super easy right out of the box. I don't want to deal with complicated or time consuming setups. With this, you won't have to either. WHEELS W/ LOCKABLE CASTERS = 4 wheels - 2 have locking "flap" USE = 60 minutes of run time until it stops to cool itself down (seems more than enough time even if papers pile up) SAFETY = Auto stop if you open bin while shredding (I tested this!) SUMMARY: Right kind of shredding cut (tiny micro confetti) Quiet Low Noise Easy to use Easy to open to empty or to look in there Can insert multiple pages to shred at one time - bye junk mail! Was the best paper shredder I ever used until it shut off, burn smell from a jam. I got over 21/2 years from this and it worked awesome. Unfortunately, these companies only have 1 year warranty: a sad scam to provide products with only a 1 year guarantee and no accountability to replace or repair. I would buy again with an amazon warranty attached....Wife got me another brand, so we shall see

I shredded a full reusable bag of papers in a single session with this amazing shredder. It is stronger and quieter than my last shredder and a joy to use. Even thick envelopes like those bank "terms and conditions" could be shredded without removing the papers from the envelope first. This is the first shredder I've seen with a heat exhaust vent, allowing long runtimes without overheating. The see-through window lets me know when it's time to empty the basket, so no guessing. Finally, it is quite a bit quieter than my last shredder, a welcome feature. Definitely recommend!
