After much searching, I tried this mold with my grandson. We had a fun time making the present for his mom and dad. Only issue was the bottom did not dry as quickly, but customer service was fabulous with options and further support. Highly recommended.

This was a cute activity. The package is easy enough to follow and came with all the items needed to make the handprint ornament. You have to make sure to work fast once you’ve opened up the clay package otherwise it starts drying up and cracking very quickly — and like most art, it gets harder and harder to fix something once thr drying process starts. Our little one kept moving around so we had to redo the prints a few times, and noticed the clay started cracking and drying already. My tip is to try to get it how you want it the first time and make sure your baby is in a good and calm mood before you start this activity. This was fun and cute — will be cherishing these tiny handprints in years to come!

It sounds like you get an inconsistent product, some people get one that is dried out, while others get one that might be too moist. Mine was very dry, crumbly to the point of being called dirt instead of clay, however, it was fine after a little bit of water. I moistened my hands and the clay just enough to work it into a smooth ball. I also rolled mine out slightly thinner than the frame and used the frame like a cookie cutter to get a really nice top edge. As others have mentioned, it’s pretty thick if you fill the frame so I got 3 from my pack of 2 this way. I also live in a very humid region so I removed the ring and then baked mine at about 225 for an hour. Stamping her foot was hard, do it while they are young (less squirmy) and possibly while they are drinking a bottle, we tried while she was sleeping but that just woke her up and made her mad. I used the oval because at 8 weeks, I’m pretty sure her foot wouldn’t fit in the circle or any of the other shapes. Do it early to catch those adorable newborn hands and feet. I’m so thankful that I did this, these will make great Christmas presents for the grandparents and keepsakes for my husband and I. I bought 4 kits total to make hands and feet for everyone, plus a few spares in case they break or don’t come out nice. As for the paints, I did not use the paints that came with the set and this is my main reason for removing a star. The finishing makes all the difference. I bought a few bottles in colors that I liked better. I think this kit could be made better if it included pastel colors instead of bold primary/secondary colors. I painted the background white but I don’t think I needed to. I especially liked a pearl white paint (from folkart) to add a shimmer layer over my colored paint, it softened the pink color and really makes the hands and feet pop. Lastly, I finished them off with a clear gloss spray paint. I hope this review and advice helps you, I loved this project, I will be getting 4 more kits when we have our next baby.

Loved making these with both of my children, they both had small features when doing it, so it was perfect. Probably best for kids 2 and under or else their hands/feet won't fit. Can be difficult to roll because the amount of product doesnt come to the top of the cutter and the rolling pin doesn't fit inside. I used my hands to kind of smooth it out, but can lead to unwanted fingerprints.

I am so pleased with how this turned out! I used this to make Christmas gifts for my family and everyone loved them! It is incredibly user friendly and the instructions are easy to follow so the outcome is perfect! There was no mess to clean off of my daughter’s hands/feet. I will absolutely be buying this again for my next baby!

So, I consider myself to be a very crafty person, but even this project was a bit annoying for me. The instructions were easy enough to follow, but I had to do a lot of figuring out along the way and come up with my own little hacks. First, when you spread out the clay in the heart-shaped mold, either there was not enough clay or the mold was too high, so I could not really smooth it out with the roller. Second, even after I used scissors to separate the letters, I still had to go back with a nail clipper to cut off all the little edges. Otherwise, they would not fit properly into the stamper. That's another thing, the stamper was a little tricky to use, and it was a bit difficult to get the letters in and out. The clay also started drying pretty quickly, and the baby's hand and foot impressions were just barely visible. So, overall, it's a cute and cheap gift idea, and it makes for a nice memento, but it helps if you are a crafty person and can find little workarounds for some of the things the instructions don't cover.

I bought 7 of these to make 14 ornaments. Maybe I missed the memo somewhere but you definitely can make up to 3 ornaments per bag of clay! I have so much clay left over, which is not a problem but I wish I would have known. I rolled the clay out, then pressed the mold onto it cookie-cutter style. The clay did not dry out quickly so I was able to stamp my very wiggly baby’s footprint into all of them in one go. Whew! So glad it was that easy. The paint is good quality too. I am not the most skilled with a paintbrush but I think they turned out alright! They also give you plenty of ribbon options.

LOVED this! Easy to use, clear directions, all supplies included. I was hoping to use these creations as tree ornaments, but if you create the ornaments using the directions, they are VERY heavy. Too heavy for a Christmas tree. BUT they come with easels. So these are now mantel pieces that we love. If I did this again, I would break it into 4, lighter weight, ornaments.

Easy and clean to use Lots of stuff with them mold, paints, ties, ect. The mold was a little to small for my 1 month olds large feet Great gift for the grand parents and a beautiful keep sake!

Brilliant little kit, although it is very hard to get a newborn to sit still, so it took 3 attempts. But it was good because the clay doesn't dry too quickly so you can reroll and start again! The only thing I will say is the roller is a bit too small and the amount of clay per shape could be increased because it doesn't quite sit at the top of the shape and so is hard to roll out properly. I ended up using a little bit of the second bag to really make it work. Which means that I only got one end result in the end.
