As a first time buyer of a pool cleaning robot, I recently purchased the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra and my initial impressions of it were quite favorable. After using it for a few cleanings, I noticed that while the smart return to floor feature is handy, it is a little heavy and not very easy to retrieve. It has a good battery life and can last for several cleanings, but I would have liked the charging time to be a little faster. I didn't always observe his actual overall cleaning process as it was quite long, probably more than 4 hours? Will follow up on this product observation in making a more detailed review, overall the pool will be cleaner after cleaning, reducing labor costs.

I was really looking forward to trying out the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra. The build quality is fantastic, and it's plenty powerful and well-made. Though it's on the pricier side, you can tell that it is well made and I expect to last. The design is sleek, and it feels like the quality is built to last. My pool isn't open yet here in CO, but I'm all set up already and waiting to try it out when it warms up. I'll provide an update once I pop it in the pool the first time, but so far I'm impressed and looking forward to putting it to work!

This is my second BeatBot robotic pool cleaner, the first being the AquaSense Pro. When I saw they released the new AquaSense 2 Ultra, I was so excited by the upgraded features that I didn’t hesitate to order it right away! Although the pool isn’t open yet this season, I’ve already been impressed by the build quality and how easy it was to set up. The app connected seamlessly with my phone, which was a great sign. I can’t wait to actually use it once the pool is ready – super excited to see how well it works!

Without a doubt the best purchase I have had in many years. It is very efficient when it comes to capturing dirt from the pool. I recommend it 100%. Its price is perfect for what you can do with it.

Click to play video Having used a pressure side vacuum for years and just recently transitioning to robotic vacuums, this one is yet another exciting addition to my pool cleaning arsenal. Be sure to follow the instructions from the beginning to avoid some of the glitches I faced when pairing the unit with my phone and internet. The first time I ran the robot, it was supposed to map the pool for streamlining the future cleaning and provide a map of the pool, which it did, however, I think I was expecting a much better mapping based on the advertised number of sensors and the AI camera. The FAQ indicates the mapping is not based on the outside shape of the pool, rather the bottom interior of it which sounds reasonable to me, but the map still differs from what I had expected. I am thinking I may re-set the robot and give it another mapping opportunity to improve the operation. The unit is just about 30 pounds which is not too heavy for most people, however, based on my experience, the battery (although a big one) needs to be recharged after almost each use so taking the robot out of the water repeatedly to recharge is not something that I look forward to. The operation is easy and the Beatbot app is user friendly. I have noticed some glitches with the app, such as locking up, or not showing up-to-date info at times, however, I am hoping that they will be updating the App soon and provide a solid firmware update to improve the operation and functionality of the vacuum. The pros include the ability to do the floor, walls, water line, and the surface, while clarifying the water, and then automatically coming back to the surface to park on the edge for easy retrieval, however, in my case I need to separate these cleanings into different sessions since the battery runs out before finishing all the tasks. The tank is as big, if not bigger than, the Debrie bag from my pressure side vacuum and holds a good amount of pool Debrie. At this price point, the unit is great on specifications and intended functionality, however, some quick improvements and firmware/software updates are needed to deliver the state-of-the-art robot as envisioned.

This Beatbot Aquasense 2 Ultra pool cleaner is an amazing piece of technology. Its currently winter here in Canada so I wasn’t able to use the robot on my own personal pool, what I did instead was take it to a local hotel and tested it out in their indoor pool, sadly I was told that I wouldn’t be allowed to take any pictures due to protecting the privacy of other guests using the pool at the time. This is the top of the line premium pool cleaner and is reviewed positively around the web so I was really excited to try it out. The Ultra version gets you the AI pool mapping and debris detection, more sensors, more motors, and the larger battery for longer runtime. It’s a five in one system that will clean the floor of your pool, the walls, the waterline, the surface and also provides water clarification. For the water clarification, the whole package does come with the little blue clarifying agent kit but just one, and once it runs out you will have to buy replacements separately which run $49.00 for two pieces on the beatbot website. To be honest though, they aren’t required for the pool cleaner to function and unless you pool is super dirty on a regular basis, I personally don’t think they are needed. The multi zone mode is super impressive to watch in action when the robot crawls up the pool walls and over lips and edges in the pool and its ability to skim across the surface of the water is amazing because the side brushes are a game changer and I can totally see how leaves and other debris will get sucked into making it more efficient at cleaning outdoor pools. The debris basket is 4 liters and is easy to access, empty and clean. It’s dual layer for different size of debris that the cleaner picks up. The robot itself is 29lbs which is pretty heavy but when the robot is done cleaning the pool it parks itself at the surface of the water and will self drain itself so when you pick it up it doesn’t weight more being full of water. The large grip handle on the top is really helpful getting it in and out of the water. The version I got came with the charging base, and it’s convenient to have as you can just pick up the robot and place it on its dock for recharging without having to mess around with wires and ports. The app worked ok and its pretty similar to the apps of the robot vacuums I’ve used in the past, pretty basic. It lets you choose your modes, set cleaning parameters, shows your remaining battery percentage and current runtimes. Allows you to do spot cleaning and define custom modes. The 3 year warranty is a really nice touch especially for something that is used outdoors and underwater, and that length of a warranty on tech items is pretty rare these days. Can’t wait until summer to get this thing in my own pool as it worked very well in the indoor pool I tested it out in, Yes, the ultra is pretty expensive but it comes packed with a ton of cool features and it saves you money from hiring a company to come clean your pool for you and saves you time if you’ve just been doing it yourself.

This Beatbot Aqua Sense 2 Ultra Pool Robotic Cleaner comes in a big box that at first seemed overwhelming however everything is well marked so setup was fairly easy especially with the well written manual. There's only 2 things to assemble. The rear stabilizers (legs) for the charging station (very easy) and 2 side brushes (probably not attached due to shipping of the product). We put the side brushes on as per the instructions however there was a package of screws labelled for the side brushes leftover (no mention of any screws required in the instructions) so I contacted customer service. I received a response in less than 24 hours stating that the screws are only extra parts. They also included an extra set of these brushes for future use. You also need to install the water clarifying cartridge. I couldn't find replacement cartridges on Amazon.ca for this model but they do have them for the Pro model for $54.99 for 2 cartridges (note they don't fit this machine) but hopefully they will carry them for this newer model in the future. You can get them directly from the manufacturer for $49.99 US but that's a bit expensive for the Canadian consumer. Each cartridge will last for about a month if used weekly. The cartridge emits the solution automatically when on floor/bottom cleaning mode and also has an on/off button control for use as needed. The solution is a non toxic biodegradable formula using crushed sea shells too. The filter basket is very easy to remove to clean and it's a double screened basket. The best feature is the AI sensors and camera that allows the robot to "see" debris like leaves etc. Hopefully no more missed areas. This newer model also has additional brushes for cleaning. Once everything is assembled we placed it on the charging station. It has a large pickup handle on one end. The station has a 6' power cord. The green charging light fades on/off when charging. It took a little over 3 hours for a full charge. All the charging lights go out when charging is complete. It can be operated by the unit control panel or by a phone app. The main reason for using the app is for product updates and to set specific cleaning modes not offered on the unit panel. The operation panel allows the selection of different cleaning modes depending on your needs. Running battery time is 3-4 hours (our current one only does 45 minutes and only the floor/bottom). This machine will do the walls and the waterline (bathtub like ring) too. Upon completing the pool cleaning it will surface and"park" by the pool side. It then empties with an automatic drainage system so that it's not too heavy to lift out. They also included a pole hook if it's necessary to retrieve it if there's any issue. They also included a heavy oxford fabric drawstring storage bag with a zippered side storage pocket. The robot approximate dimensions are as follows: 11" high at the rear and 8" high at the front (it slopes) 15" wide and 17" from the top handle to the bottom. It has some weight to it as well. It winter in Canada so unfortunately I will have to complete this review with a springtime update when we reopen our inground pool. I will adjust my rating if I'm not pleased with its operation. The current price $4,758 Canadian does seem overwhelming and it is cheaper if purchased directly from the US manufacturer. The manufacturer list price is $2,799 in US dollars. Not sure why there's such a price difference.

What I Liked: Comprehensive Cleaning: This robot really does a good job by cleaning not just the pool floor but also the waterline, walls, and even clarifying the water. I love that one device can cover all these areas without me having to use multiple tools. Smart Parking and Drainage: One of the best features is its smart surface parking. When it finishes cleaning or the battery runs low, it automatically parks on the water surface and drains the water out of its interior. This makes it super easy to retrieve the robot, even my mom can pick it from the pool. Ease of Use: The charging base is a huge plus. It’s very convenient to just lift the robot out, plug it in, and let it charge. The setup is simple, and the controls through the app are intuitive, which makes the whole process easy. What I Didn’t Like: Drain Interference: I did notice that for the robot to perform optimally, I have to stop the pool drain to avoid creating a whirlpool effect. This extra step can be a bit inconvenient, especially if you’re in a hurry or not used to managing the pool’s water flow manually. Minor Learning Curve: Although the robot is smart, there was a slight learning curve when it came to setting up the cleaning modes and understanding the best practices to get the most out of its advanced features. Conclusion: The AquaSense 2 is a perfect all-in-one pool cleaning solution that truly simplifies maintenance for a round, above-ground pool like mine, but would be optimal for an inground pool. Its ability to clean all surfaces and smart features such as auto-parking and water drainage, are useful. While managing the drain can be a bit of a hassle for optimal performance, the overall benefits far outweigh this minor drawback. I’d definitely recommend this robot if you’re looking for an efficient, all-in-one pool cleaner and have the money to buy this one.

This is definitely going to be one of those reviews, which require a lot of time and detail, so buckle in. This Beatbot Aquasense 2, is absolutely remarkable. After taking the time to research what makes this product different from the rest, I’ve learnt quite a bit. The ad itself speaks volumes, a 5 in 1 cleaner, that can “handle” it all. Unfortunately, due to it being winter where I’m from, I wont be able to physically test it for another few months. Which is disappointing since this is the type of high value item that really demands a live test. But I will say, that from the few videos I have been able to track down, that I am very impressed. The fact that this is an all natural cleaner is huge. Salt water pools are becoming more common, the less chemicals, the better. As long as your salt water pool is under 5000 PPM, you’re free to use this machine. In the new world, AI is taking over, and this Aquasense 2 is following suit being the “world’s first robotic pool cleaner, with water surface parking.” It also maps the areas out and creates restricted areas, if need be. It has 4 guided wheels for precise cleaning and if you have stairs in your pool, this Beatbot can clean them, depending on the width. This pool cleaner can also be used for an in ground, or above ground pool and it covers up to 3444 square feet. If you do have a larger pool, it may require more time to clean but luckily the charging time is only 4 and a half hours. It’s battery life is also 4 hours. Another notable mention is, there is an app available to control the machine while it’s in the water. The app provides battery life, cleaning mode options and so much more. To be honest, I’ve never seen anything like this. I wanted to get the opinion from someone who owns a pool, on their experiences with their pool cleaners. They were overwhelmed when they saw this one. They said the average life span of their “average” pool cleaner was a year, and for a hefty price too. They said after some time, their machine wasn’t filtering correctly and was instead holding the dirt inside causing it to break. Since the Beatbot has the “smart drain” feature which automatically releases water, there likely wouldn’t be that machine damaging build up. This Beatbot also has advanced coating technology to prevent sun exposure/damage. They also guarantee a three year full replacement warranty, which to me seems that they stand strongly behind their product. I enjoyed learning all about this Beatbot and look forward to trying it in the summer months. I understand the sticker cost may stun you, however I really do believe this machine is worth it. It’s new technology, hands free, and arrives with a full warranty to back you up. Although it is impossible to provide photos of the unit in operation due to the time of year,(Feb 26/25), I will return to this review later in the year to provide a complete update on real world results.
