The classics played wonderfully. Totally enjoyed each song. It’s nice to hear some classical music played so professionally. Would highly recommend getting this tape if you love classical music. His piano versions are even soothing.

I love Jon Batiste’s way of weaving the classic and his variations. Bravo👍❤️

The CD was terrible in every way imaginable. Simplistic unimaginative, simply awful. I thought it was going to be great. I mean, John Batiste, doing jazzy interpretations of Beethoven? Sounds fantastic. Boy was wrong. And to top it off, the production values were even worse than the horrible CD itself. What a disappointment. Do yourself a favor and skip this garbage CD altogether.

The young Ludwig van Beethoven made his name in Vienna as a pianist, and particularly distinguished himself as an improviser. There is the (perhaps apocryphal but still characteristic) story of his one meeting with Mozart, when Mozart initially thought that Beethoven was just another talented but ho-hum pianist until Beethoven impressed with his improvisation on a theme given to him by Mozart, who was himself a brilliant improviser. Likewise, Bach was a legendary improviser on any keyboard instrument. Anyone who likes this side of Beethoven should thoroughly enjoy this album. Jon Batiste admires and respects Beethoven, and understands him at a level that only very good and inventive musicians do.

I ordered Jon Batiste’s latest album for myself. The pieces are beautiful arrangements and pretty relaxing to sit and enjoy. The album reminds me of my childhood when my father would play classical music and my siblings played other styles.
