You might surmise that Martha Beck has run out of fresh material to tackle after having written so many brilliant books, but you'd be wrong. She has done it again. Written another extraordinary book offering fresh insight in her fluid, clear, readable style. Even as a certified Wayfinder Coach, trained in her company, I learned a great deal of new and helpful methods to address anxiety. Highly recommended.

OMG Brilliant insights into the awakening and healing of humanity. I will immediately begin rereading this wonderful book. It will be my manual for deciphering the first 70 years of my life. Once again... Thanks, Martha!

Martha Beck has written a helpful book with numerous self-help exercises.
She stresses the differences between right and left hemispheres of the brain.
An approach to anxiety in this book involves focus. Creativity is one of those focuses and offers so many possibilities.
Society’s effect on the brain and particularly anxiety was an interesting part of the book.
The author’s writing style makes the book an easy, beneficial read.
The book is also loaded with helpful exercises.

I mostly listened to the Audible version, highlighting passages and resources that spoke to me. Martha is a gifted teacher for whom this topic is intensely personal. I’ll be going back and recording several of the exercises and have already incorporated many lessons in my self-talk. I’ve recommended the book on Reddit as well. Thank you Martha.

I’m a few chapters in and the essential message is a good one . Beck is a caring individual and that comes across authentically. What drives me apes-t is the editors clear insistence ( as in every novel fictive or not these days) that the author makes sure to press home the ideological trope of the ( clutches pearls) man made climate change and the ( gasp!)inevitable destruction of planet earth. Enough . Just stop it. It’s really obnoxious. And frankly it runs counter to the authors message of “tap into less fear based left brain “ when she has to reiterate “ the world is ending!” But talk to your inner scared critter soothingly and everything will be ok. It’s all so contrived .

Genius. Beck's robust research and phenomenal strategies are immediately and immensely helpful. This magnum opus lights me up! I will reread this often, and practice the strategies along with Beck's The Way of Integrity. I am deeply grateful.

Let me be truthful first. I love Martha Beck and I am a big fan. What I loved about this book was the idea of treating our anxiety as a fearful creature that you need to befriend and calm down. She offers many practical techniques on doing that. I love her witty analogies and approaches. She then offers creativity as a counter strategy to the Anxiety Spiral . It's witty, clever and full of compassion - like most of her work.

And please don't just casually read it - practice the techniques, painstakingly collected. Find bliss. Joy. Freedom. Simply put: Wake up!
