If I could give this 10 stars I would. Who would have thought that a 12 volt refrigerator freezer could be this great and efficient. The inverter compressor is very quiet constantly adjusting is speed to efficiently use power. The most this device pulls is 2.5amps or 37 watts. It can easily flash freeze by dropping the temperature down to -8 F. I never have to waste my money on ice again. The fact that you don’t need ice means that you don’t need as large of a cooler. I fit more in this than my 55 gallon Coleman because I don’t need ice. I take it everywhere. If you plug it in and pre-cool it to zero and then take it on the road with the battery it will keep stuff at 30 degrees about 10 hours on a charge. Get the insulated cover it makes a huge difference in battery life. Without the cover it’s about 50% less efficient on battery power. I bought 2 batteries so I can keep Italian ices in it at -4 degrees all day. It’s always great to bring a meat freezer with you when you buy ice cream in the summer. You can get it home without it melting. It isn’t too heavy even with food in it. It’s easy to transport because its size is very manageable. I love the fact that it keeps your settings when you swap batteries. The interior has a wonderful lighting system that works just like a regular refrigerator. If they can make just one improvement it would be to have the battery just slide in. The cigarette lighter plug really holds tight into the battery making it difficult to pull out to remove battery. Other than that one tiny gripe this is truly the best gadget ever invented. I most definitely will buy a bigger one next year for use in my yard for party’s because it keeps stuff real cold even opening and closing a lot. It comes with a real nice set of accessories like a car power cord and a shorter cord for the battery.

Arrived on time, double boxed, in excellent condition. CR PRO 30. Heavier than a similar size cooler, but that's to be expected. Has resessed finger handles on either end which does make it much easier to pick up and carry. The divider inside is removable for larger items. Used for about a week now and it stays at my set temperature well in my car and RV, 110v and 12v. Set voltage cutoff to "L" in the car so it stays on while parked. LED light is placed well and useful, bright at night.. I chose this fridge because it is BougeRV! To explain. I recently replaced almost two years old BougeRV solar panels with their newest technology. Before removing the original panels I tested them and found that one was performing well below specs. I contacted their support and, after some emails and documenting the issue, they offered to compensate me with a credit back to my card, since my original panels are no longer available. I am very pleased with their support which is the primary reason that I chose a portable refrigerator from BougeRV. Will use it in my car, RV and motorhome. First use... Let it sit overnight then turned it on. Very quiet, it's hard to tell if it's running. Set to MAX and -8°f. Reached 0°f in 42 minutes. Feels sturdy, solid lid that opens easily with finger recess on the front and closes tight. Reached -8°f in less than a hour.

Im a over the road trucker..47yrs…. Ive bought a bunch of electric coolers from truck stops. Over the yrs the quality of them has got very bad. They used to last a couple yrs. Then your lucky to get a yr outta them now before you start haveing power issues.. And the price has doubled in last few yrs..$200 a yr for that cooler… So i started seeing people ( travelers ) using the portable fridge/ freezer units and they was about same size i used. I seen for $50-150 more i get a unit that has a cooling system like a full size fridge. SO! Im taking a chance with this ..( BougeRV VIP fridge/freezer 30qt).. this thing is amazing.. Very quite keeps everything cold ( i normally run it @34-37 degrees F. But other day somehow while loading or moving things around in it. I mist of changed the temp.. i looked over an it was 17 degrees inside.. & i had it set at 9 degrees somehow.. WOW!! I was surprised how cold it was inside that fast.. i wish it was a bit bigger cause i stay in truck long time so i stock up… But the VIP fridge was only a 30qt….. All in All.. i will buy BougeRV fridge/ freezers again. Very Pleased. Very good product and the inside lite is great for nite time driving reaching for a drink in the dark

This cooler worked great on our long trips. However, with the 1st test, the refrigerator temperature accuracy and it’s off by 6-10 degrees on accuracy (between bougerv temp setting and use of a couple digital, liquid and infrared thermometers). Will be testing the refrigerator temps and freezer temps in the future. We had to reduce the temp setting to meet FDA refrigerator recommended temp range.

I've had this cooler for quite some time as my mini fridge by me while driving for drinks and the occasional sandwich. I love that I can pick my temperature and it just does that with ease.

I got one of this VIP insulation model from another retailer; right off the bat the compressor was SUPER loud, it could be heard rattling from several rooms away. I got this second one from Amazon to see if it was a fluke. This one has a whisper-quiet compressor, but when I set it to 10 Fahrenheit and put my ice cream in it overnight, the ice cream was melted the next day even though the current temp reported 10f. I made sure on the display that it's not 10c. I did unplug both of this model and place a 10-pound bag of ice into each, along with a competing compressor RV fridge with similar capacity. The ice took about 10% longer to melt in both of the BougeRV Vacuum Insulated Panel models, versus the third brand with only foam insulation. So, the panels have potential, but the claims are exaggerated in testing, and the quality control made both of these unusable in the end.
