If you look at my other reviews, I don't write lengthy ones but this product merits it. First of all, even though I rated it 5 stars doesn't mean is perfect, it has it's quirkiness. However, as someone that has gone to a laser hair removal "spa" and spent thousands of dollars I can tell you that this product has given me better results than the "spa". I'm not the typical Hispanic with dark skin, but not light either. I have been shaving my whole body for the last 25+ years because I'm very hairy. When I tried the "spa" for (8) sessions for my back, I went from shaving my back twice a week to twice a month. Was it better? Yes. Was it worth the stupid amount of money? No. Back to the Braun: The good: It works. I bought it almost 2 months ago now and have been using it every week. I've used it on my legs, back, and arms. It took 3 sessions to start seeing a big reduction in hair growth. I just finished my 6th session and the results have been better than when I went to the spa. This last time I went 2 weeks without shaving and had less hair than when I was shaving twice a week. I'm going to go 3 weeks until the next one and see, but I'm confident that is just a matter of time before it'll be every other month or so. (I'll update later) The price for this Braun is peanuts compared to what you'd spend on a "spa", and they tell you that they do NOT guarantee results and that you might need additional treatments besides your 6 months "maintenance". I wish more people knew about this product, it'll put the "spas" out of business. Full disclosure, I do not use the app at all. I set it at the highest setting possible and go (more on that later) The bad: This one is hard for me because I don't necessarily view these as "bad" but I know it will bother some users as I've read other reviews. In the highest setting, it could get uncomfortable in some of the more delicate areas. It gets really hot and stings a little. Everybody's pain threshold is different but I would rate it a 3 out of 10. Again, not all the time but in some areas. You can always reduce the intensity, I choose not to. As some of the other reviews I've read, the machine starts off "zapping" rapidly and after the first or second use the zapping rate slows down quite a bit. I've notice that it zaps faster with the larger attachments as well. Having said that, it works just as well and it takes me another 1-2 minutes longer than when I first used it. So for me, it's not a big deal. Conclusion: Sorry for the long winded review but I really like this laser hair removal from Braun and I think it's worth every penny. I suggest you follow the instructions, shave the area before using it as you'll get better results (even spas tell you to do that), and use it weekly. I'll try to post an update in a couple of months.

Works great for hair and those dark age spots. This is my second one. I used the first till it died. So much cheaper than a medspa and more convenient. Some of the App linkage is stupid but you don't need the app to use it.

This gets my annual “worst of” reward for 2024. I used this religiously, according to the instructions, for over 12 weeks (probably closer to 13 or 14wks). It did very little to reduce or eliminate hair in the areas below the belt. As far as the areas that I hit on my arms, torso and legs, the hair still grows but it is now patchy. If I grow the hair out I look ridiculous. I would’ve been better off, not using this overpriced product whatsoever. I am trying to get a refund from the manufacturer. I will post how that goes. 12/20/24 Update- after waiting 10min 30sec to speak to a representative I provided a summary of my issue. After finishing there was no voice. The call was still connected then hung up after 30sec. It's been awhile since I've felt this ripped off.

I'm only on my third treatment, but it seems to be starting to work.

Click to play video Let me begin by saying this is a really high quality and well made product. I think for the right skin and hair type this IPL hair removal device will likely be very useful. Unfortunately, I wasn’t aware of a few of the limitations before choosing this product, which I learned after reading the manual. Primarily there are hair and skin types for which this product cannot work. I am fair skin-toned which is fine, but my hair is too light. This works best for a variety of light skin tones with dark black to dark brown hair color. It cannot recognize blonde, red, light brown or gray hairs. Very dark-skinned individuals also are excluded from using this product. Another huge factor is if you are someone who regularly gets a tan or are planning to go out in the sun. The areas to be treated cannot be artificially or naturally tanner than your base skin color and if you use the laser and then go out in the sun you may experience some complications (per the manual). Otherwise, with the right skin and hair type and for a person who is not going to tan, this device is designed to remove hair permanently but it takes time and continued use to get those results (again, per the manual). There is also an app which I did consider getting just to check it out, but the reviews were mixed so I chose not to download it. The app is primarily for tracking treatment and reminders to do your hair removal sessions. The operation of the device seems fairly straight forward and includes a detailed manual for instructions. The power cord is two-prong electric and a very long cord at that. There is no power button on the actual device so it must be unplugged after use. There are three treatment heads with windows ranging from small to large and the medium head is the one which comes pre-set on the device. Changing out the heads is accomplished by manually pulling them on and off. The two operational buttons are a + and - for setting skin color sensitivity, but the device is supposed to automatically read your skin and optimize the power you need. The red indicator dots show how intense the laser will fire and the darker the skin is, the more red dots should be visible. There is a large central button for activating the laser. The device can be used in two ways: stationary and just pulse of light, move to next area and so on or can be glided over a large area (legs) as the button is pressed. Includes a nicely organized velvet-like zippered storage bag which is appreciated. The bundle I received also came with a regular shaving razor (one handle and one razor head) plus a little battery operated lipstick-sized hair remover which I REALLY like! There is also a cleaning brush included and I think I will use the lipstick razor almost daily since I cannot use the actual IPL due to my hair color and tanning. I wish I could give a more detailed review on the actual results when using the IPL, but I do plan on trying it on my son’s back hair since he is fair with dark hair and stays out of the sun. My point in all of this is to be informative so someone will know the limitations before purchasing this expensive item but I am still giving it 4 stars with the belief it is a good product.

It's definitely a process, but I'm seeing results. I have light olive skin and almost black hair. I've done 6 session so far and I see the results. There are some places were I missed so I'll need to go back over them. My hair growth is pretty fast. I would need to shave my legs every day if I want them to stay smooth to the touch. I'm at a point now where I haven't shaved my underarms in over two weeks. I was very skeptical of this working, even though I did a ton of research before I purchased. The Braun and Philips looked to be the best on the market. The deciding factor for me was the product weight. The Philips unit is twice the weight of the Braun.
