These are a LIFE-SAVER and well worth the money! Personally, I've done the vinegar-flush on coffee machines before and this (to me) seems like it cleans better, does not smell at all, and is 100% worth it. The instructions make it crystal clear and easy to use, and it works as designed to in regards to cleaning your machine. If you're on the fence on the price think about this way... hundreds (and hundreds) of dollars for a new machine, or a few extra bucks here and there to maintain the great one you already have.

The only descaling powder I will use is Breville’s for my Barista Pro. Yes, I am all about saving money on accessories for my machine, and have found more affordable options to work very well when making my espresso. When it comes to cleaning the inside of your machine, you can do more damage if not done properly with the required type of solution… For the few extra $, I advise anyone with a Breville machine to buy their descaling powder! I used my machine multiple times daily and after trying a cheaper alternative in the past, I had to spend more to fix the damage. Please do yourselves a favor and get their name brand because ever since I stuck with it, I’ve had to only descale my machine once a month as opposed to spend more by using an alternative brand. <3

cant figure why breville only provide 1 free descaler with my barista pro machine. but i have to say the original descaler is pretty effective

These work very well but are too expensive in my honest opinion. I guess drinking coffee is an expensive hobby. lol.
