Dwight is in the pantheon of great singers. His distinctive voice and delivery are thrilling. It's disappointing then that this album features vocals delivered with barely any of the distinctive twang that made me a fan. Does he rock? Heck yes! Could this have been better? IMHO, yes.

Good, but not great

Dwight Yoakam is a living country music legend whose albums always have a freshness and an energy about them. It is hillbilly honky tonk real country music with drive. He is great voice. His band 'rocks' and provides great toe tapping backing. The songs are good to great. If you are fan of Yoakam , you will enjoy this. If you just like good authentic music with attitude, this is definitely worth a listen. His best? Probably not. Great to have him back with new music and this one is great fun.
