Was a little concerned with all the “doesn’t fit” reviews so did a check before ordering: Model V6, length 23.8 cm, diameter 4.5 cm, looking down the tube 4 holes and the bearing cap came out with the roller. The new roller fit like a charm.

Noticed my Dyson V8 wasn’t working as well as it should, noticed my original beater brush had half missing bristles. This fit with no issues, and my vacuum has the power back like it was when it was new. I don’t see any compromises or flaws that would prevent buying this again, if ever needed. Time will tell how long it will last.

I purchased the four pack of brush strips. Two are red and have stiff bristles. Two are black and have a soft texture. I was excited to find these. I have a Dyson stick vacuum with an XL powered head. It’s three - plus years old and the original brushes have worn down. I understood I could replace the roller assembly in the head, probably for $25-30. Except no-one, including Dyson, sell replacement rollers for the XL head, only the whole head assembly for $140!! I caught a YouTube video that showed how two thread these onto the roller, cutting a second to make up the extended roller length, so I bought this set of four pieces figuring I’d use 1 1/2 of each type to rejuvenate the head. They kinda worked. The black pieces are identical to the ones I took out of the roller head, but the replacement red ones are mounted on a slightly narrower backing strip than the original, which is a problem. In fact the first time I tried the machine, the second shorter strip of red brush came partly out of the slot (sideways) and proceeded to batter the plastic case of the power head. I re-inserted the red strips, but first taped them together to make one strip. I used metal backed self-adhesive tape (used with building insulation sheets), and made it slightly wider than the red strips so it couldn’t escape in the opening and it seems to be working. Time will tell. I would give a product like this 5 stars if the red strip had the right width of backing of the original I was replacing. But I’d still prefer to buy a complete replacement roller for my XL powerhead.

No, I do not mean the fluffy roller, the V6 Fluffy was a Dyson that came with several attachments (Best Buy sold it), which did include the fluffy roller head. It also came with a brush roll power head, which is what needed to be replaced here (the brush roll did, not the entire power head). There's a piece at one end that must be there in order for the motor to catch and spin the roller. There's another side that has the slotted removal cover. This roller was not made with the section that causes it to be powered by the motor and spin, therefore actually cleaning. I used a tape measure to ensure it would fit my version, it did, but again...it doesn't spin so it's useless regardless. I finally resorted to removing the black brush section (There's a black roll and a purple one) and using it on my old roller (you can replace just the brushes, as I found out after I bought this). Disappointing, annoying and it took quite a while to figure out what to do here. Yes, I could have attempted to return it. I was stubborn and in need of my dyson, so thankfully I lucked into making it work. Oh... and the black strip on my original roller is much more firm, this one is fuzzy for some reason. It seems to work for now, time will tell how well.

This fit my Dyson v6 perfectly. It's well made and was easy to install. I've had my Dyson for years so replacing parts that are worn make sense. I've replaced the rechargeable battery and this roller brush bar. The battery was also a success.

READ FIRST_________The New Brush Did Not Fit At First. Then I noticed the old end bearing on the old brush had broken off-In the end Cap(The one you take off to remove the brush). Took a phillips screwdrive and worked the old/stuck bearing out of the end cap. Then installed the cap over the bearing on the new brush. Then reinserted the new brush, with the old end cap attached to it, back into the housing and used a quarter to lock it in.

Not sure if it is too thick or just that my old one was so beaten down. But I don’t recall my Dyson being this noisy. Yes it hits the floor and the front lip of the vac in a way that it makes a lot of noise. It does the job, but noisy. It also was no where near the $125 that Dyson wanted for a replacement.

This replacement brush did not fit my existing Dyson motor head. This may be because I have replaced the motor head previously, so I wouldn't necessarily criticise either Amazon or Dyson for this in this case I've just bought another motor head, which should solve the problem.
