Perfect, just as described. Everything there, no deep seats but typical SAE and metric sockets.

Bought this set for my youngest son to add to his tool collection. He was very pleased with the whole set. Their quality seems to have improved and you can't beat the lifetime warranty. Great value for a great price!!

This 1/2 drive kit came packed in a plain brown box and the set is inside of a Red blow molded case with a slot for every piece. The ratchet itself has a nice weight and feel to it, smooth operation with a 72 tooth mechanism. The rachet is also more slimline with the new "thinner head". The set also comes with a breaker bar, extensions and swivel. Be aware, the sockets are 12point. Sometimes 6point matters, so order accordingly. I also like that the set comes with an 18MM socket vs. thinking you can just use the 3/4 SAE. Older kits often skipped the 18MM sockets and wrenches. BUT this set skips 20MM. I agree that I would rarely ever reach for a 20MM but I consider it is a "hole" in the sizing. The sockets have a nice finish and keep the time honored Craftsman theme of a serration pattern to identify Metric sockets from SAE. One odd thing about the breaker bar is the serrated grip area. I would prefer a smooth grip and I think it would fit the rest of theme of the set better. I ordered this as a second set for a secondary toolbox. I have had my original Craftsman 1/2 drive set for 30+ trouble free years. I have heard the rumors that Craftsman isn't just made well anymore, I beg to differ. I have some cheap tools in my box as well and the fit and finish on the new Craftsman is superior. The edges, the fit and finish, the operation of the mechanisms, the connection between sockets and ratchet, etc. are all better. Like most everything, the set is made in China and no longer in the USA but that doesn't automatically make it bad... Compared to my old set, this set has a far more user friendly finish (ergonomic) and is easier on the hands with tough fasteners. The blow molded case is nice though I don't really need it, I plan to rack up the sockets in a toolbox drawer. I am very happy with my new socket set and plan to put it in as my primary 1/2 drive set and move my 30yr old set to the "spare" box on the far end of the shop. The spare box is really just to keep me from walking the 100 foot building to get a forgotten tool.

Craftsman is still the brand I think of when I thing hand tools, and especially sockets. They still maintain excellent quality in this area, and still provide the fantastic lifetime warranty. I really like the thin profile of the ratchet, it is so much nicer to use than the standard. My only issue is with the case. It is my opinion that they intentionally make it so large to increase the "perceived" value of the product. Similar to giant bags of chips that come half full. I love having a hard case for my tools, but I also like to store them in a cabinet. There is absolutely no reason why this set needs to take up SO MUCH space. It's honestly a but underwhelming when you open the case to see so much plastic wasted space. It makes you "feel" like you got ripped off with I stand buyers remorse. BUT the tools themselves are fantastic and for the quality/brand I believe they are priced competitively.

Over the years I have heard people say that Craftsman tools have declined in quality. This is my second Craftsman set of tools that I've ordered in the past year and I have to quite disagree, at least in reference to my experiences only. This is a 33 piece mechanics set, which is a 1/2" drive with metric and SAE sockets, 3 different sizes drive extensions, a swivel adapter, and a 1/2" drive breaker bar. The 1/2" drive itself is a 72 tooth ratchet with a low profile head. The low profile head is nice because it allows you to get into places that would otherwise be difficult. Also, it's nice that this set includes the 1/2" breaker bar for those bolts that you just can get unstuck. It gives the extra leverage you need to get it unstuck.. The set comes in a red plastic case with each piece having a specific spot that is clearly marked. I also want to mention that this is the very first set of tools I've EVER received that didn't have loose tools inside the case the first time I opened it up. The tools are very secure in their respective spots. It also means I don't have to be very careful carrying this set around worrying about having ing to replace everything back into their spots whenever I get to my destination. The tools themselves are of good quality. They have weight to them and they don't have that "cheap" feel to them that other cheaper tools normally have. I did not pay for this set and I want that to be clear. When I ordered this set I thought the price tag was a little much and wondered if I would feel that I wouldn't have ordered it at the price they were asking. After seeing and using the set, I can definitely say that I do feel the price is warranted.
