As with most households, Internet and good Wi-Fi coverage are essential. One of my computers is older and the WiFi in it just doesn't work well. So I wanted to get one of these to mesh up with my Archer router so I could use the Ethernet jack on it. This has worked out very well as my TP Link router is compatible with this mesh extender. This extender was easy to set up. What I like so much about it is that it uses the same network name, and I don't have to do "networkname_ext" to connect to it. So not only did I get faster-than-ever Internet speed for my computer in the basement, but it also helped speed up some of my other devices and helped with dead zones. I liked it so much that I got another one for the garage. My flood light camera in my garage was on the fringe of our Wi-Fi, making the connection not always stable. I hadn't really gotten into the world of mesh networking, but now I have. I will never go back, and I highly recommend it.

... configured it right! Do NOT disable one of the radios (like I did and shutdown 5G and brought my 2.4G wifi to a crawl) if you are going to use in Mesh mode. I already had an existing AX1500 connected to my main router AX5400. I put the newly purchased refurb one in my downstairs walkout basement just outside of utility room to improve weak 2.4G wifi signal to my Rainbird WIFI controller. The other tip is to proper set the coverage (signal strength). In my case the AX1500 max signal was pulling too many devices that the main router was handling just fine before so I reduced the coverage mode / setting. Very happy with the refurb purchase!

I am a campground host and I live in an area with no cellular phone towers at all whatsoever. My Hughes Net modem/wifi router is located inside and in the very back of my 5th wheel, which has aluminum siding. Outside the trailer in front (40' away from router) the HughesNet Wi-Fi signal is weak and Wi-Fi phone calls cut in and out. 1-2 bars. I put the TP-Link extender on top of the 5th wheel (12' tall) - and it gives me 500' line-of-sight range from the TP-Link. More like 300' if there's any obstructions. It will stream a YouTube video or give you a good clear Wi-Fi call from 300'.... And up to 500' if you stand in the same spot and don't move out of sight of the extender. Don't forget this unit isn't water resistant so I must take it down if it rains. I don't know how it would perform in a constant high humidity environment. Putting the Wi-Fi extender in the most open spot and as high up as possible gives you the most range obviously, but exposes it to the elements and bird poop. If the unit loses power - when it later regains power, it automatically reconnects with no problems. You can't print using your Wi-Fi-network-connected printer through the extender - I'm sure that's a security measure. But for my Google Pixel 9 Pro, I prefer to be connected to the TP link as is it gives me so much more range - so when I arrive at home (where there are no cell towers) - before I even get out of my car, my phone will connect to my satellite network. So in my particular case this is a great item to have.....

Bought this to extend my TPLink router in the family room so the signal could reach the living room and master bedroom. I could see the increased signal strength, but data packets were dropping like crazy. Ended up getting an EERO Mesh network 3 Pack and now I have 200 mbps throughout my entire home. Yes, EERO is expensive, but it works.

I was hesitant to purchase something refurbished, but this comes with a 90-day guarantee so I figured, why not try it? I'm so glad I did! This puppy gives me 100+ Mbps download speeds--my old WiFi extender was giving me 40 or so. Setup was easy. My previous extender was also from TP-Link, so I already had their Tether app on my phone. I simply plugged this into the wall, located it using the Tether app, gave it my WiFi password, and it was ready to go. Super happy with my purchase!
