Used it for a day. Had a power outage due to storm. Nothing we do has worked to make it make ice again. It's just sitting there. Making noise.

If you need a little extra ice, this is a great solution. The ice it makes are small chunks and it makes them fairly quickly. However, you need to be around to constantly reload water. Also, it wouldn’t make enough if you were maybe planning a large party. This would be great for a college student without a freezer, or if you just need a little more, perhaps a small party.

As a counter top ice maker is is just that. It arrived in a timely manner and very well packaged. The finishes are nice and of high quality. Function on the other hand is sup par in my experience. it does actual start making ice in 6 mins as they claim but the ice is very watery and doesn't freeze completely. This normally wouldn't be a problem but as I found out if you transfer the ic from the tray into your freezer then it all sticks together and becomes one giant ice cube. I wish there was a way to actually plum the water in or add a holding tank for water as you have to fill it quire a few times to get a full basket of ice. I have used a couple of the big brand counter type ice makers and although they are way over priced they perform at a much higher standard. IF your not worried about transferring your ice to the freezer then this could be a good solution fo you.

At $230 this nugget ice maker is probably a stretch since it does not keep the ice frozen, so it's pretty much a use it as you make it product - but at the time of this review there is a $40 off coupon which may make it more palatable for someone that really wants nugget ice and is willing to wait 20-30 minutes to get it. My unit started producing ice in just under 10 minutes, and after 30 minutes I had a decent amount (roughly 16 ounces ... I poured it into a pint glass to measure). It is a bit noisy, not fighter jet loud, but loud enough that I noticed it while working in my home office in the room next to the wet bar where the ice maker resides. I probably would not want to sit right next to it while it's working though. As the ice sits in the discharge basket, unused ice melts into a drain tank at the bottom. Emptying and cleaning were easy - there is a drain plug on the bottom to drain the tank, and underneath the ice basket there's a plug to drain the fill tank at the top (it drains into the bottom drain tank then out the bottom drain plug). Once most of the water drained out, I used a paper towel to dry the sides but getting into the upper fill tank was a little tight. I just let it sit overnight with the lids open and it dried enough for storage. Overall, so far this is a decent ice maker for those that love the nugget ice. The price is what would give me pause ... at $240, that's about half the cost of the GE Opal nugget ice maker which stores the ice and keeps it frozen. If I had the space I may be inclined to just spend the extra for the GE model, but with limited space (and a love of nugget ice), this maker seems to be a good compromise at the discounted price of $190.

It has always been a dream of my family to have a nugget ice maker. I actually looking in to getting one about five years ago, but the prices then were exorbitant and so I just forgot about it. So of course I was absolutely thrilled to get the opportunity to try this ChefRobot nugget ice maker. And yes, this ice machine makes that wonderful, crunchable ice that we all dreamed of. Personally, I've always had trouble forcing myself to drink enough water. I drank way too much soda or tea, and had to force myself to drink plain water. But, since we brought this beauty home, I can't get enough ice water. So this machine has saved money on sodas and gave me healthier habits. The ice maker produces enough ice on a daily basis for my family, which is usually four adults. You fill the reservoir under the basket and touch the power button on the top to start the machine. In ten to fifteen minutes you will have enough ice for one drink. As long as it has water and isn't too full of ice the machine will continue to produce ice. It does have a tendency to pile ice toward one side, and when it backs up it will beep and stop making ice when it is a little over half full. All you have to do is shift the ice to the other end of the basket and it will resume production when you close the lid. Even with four of us we rarely run out of ice in the machine. The machine will also stop and beep when it is out of water. Just refill and touch the power button and it starts right up. As much as I love this ice machine, I can't recommend it alone for large parties. Even when full it only holds so much ice. The ice is pretty moist when made, and if you attempt to put it in a bowl and place in the freezer it will all freeze together. I did have luck putting the ice in smaller individual containers to freeze it, and once a beverage is poured over it reverted to individual ice pellets again pretty quickly. It might work to fill plastic cups with ice and put them in the freezer beforehand, or to use some sort of mold to make ice clusters that will fit in your cups. But just counting on the machine to make enough ice for a larger group is not a good idea. If you are like me and love the refreshing crunch of nugget ice in your beverages, this ice maker may be just what you need. Unlike the nugget ice machines of a few years ago, this machine is reasonably priced and doesn't take up a lot of room. It is pretty easy to clean and consistently makes ice all day.. The nugget ice makes every drink taste so much better somehow. For me it has been literally life changing, as I've probably never been so hydrated. And iced coffee is my new favorite treat.

When I turned this icemaker on it was very quiet and it took about 6 minutes to make ice which immediately melted when it went into the tray. The ice is made in a small nugget style and the issue with this is that the ice is kind of the watery type of ice that's on the brink of melting when deposited into the storage bin. This is great for chewing ice but to add a warm drink to it the ice completely goes away quickly unless a lot has been added to the cup or glass. After letting it run for a few days it quiet sound went away it made probably twice as much noise while running. None of these things are a showstopper for this machine BUT if it is competing with others of the type changes need to be made to this device.
