My granddaughter has just finished the first book in the series, and is now a lover of all things Harry Potter. This book is on her Christmas list and we can’t wait to give it to her. What’s so great about it is it illustrates the scene in The Socerer’s Stone where Harry celebrates Christmas at Hogwarts. The text mirrors that of the book and the illustrations are beautiful. This is a book to be treasured and passed down for Christmases to come. It’s not only for Potter lovers. It may also inspire others to take the plunge and give Harry a try!

I am SHOCKED at seeing one star reviews. This book is delightful. I would never say the illustrations are in an anime style as one reviewer claimed and criticized. The illustrations are beautiful. This is a children’s Christmas book and if you’re a Harry Potter enthusiast, I can’t see how you wouldn’t absolutely love it. I have four children and we love Harry Potter and Christmas books in our house, so this is an easy win. The book has a bit of length to it so it’s a nice time with the story and illustrations. This sort of book is what I’ve been longing for — beautifully done picture books to bring Harry Potter more accessible to those who aren’t ready for the novels.

Excellent synopsis of a very happy and unique Christmas. Destined to be a children's classic to accompany, "The Night Before Christmas". Would have preferred photos from the movie, but the drawings are ideal and full of detail.

Point 1: Like other reviewers have stated, this entire story is pulled directly from the first Harry Potter novel. There is literally nothing new added in the story. If I thought there was deception involved to trick people into buying a new story, I'd mark off for it. However, the description on this website flat-out states it's directly from Sorcerer's Stone. The physical book itself also includes this information. While there is no denying this book is an obvious cash grab, it's okay because it's not deceptively marketed.
Point 2: The illustrations are what I'd call "anime-tinged." Having said that, other reviewers have already posted a few pictures for you to view. I encourage you to check them out; The pictures presented are an accurate representation of the entire book. If you like the illustration style, great. If you do not, that's another you might pass.
Point 3: The art was created digitally via Adobe photoshop (as per the info in the book). That doesn't mean it isn't real, as one reviewer believes. A human still created it from their imagination and with their own skill. Also, for anyone unaware, most art in children's books (and other mediums) is created via Adobe photoshop (or similar programs) these days. Whether that bothers you is not for me to say. But if it is enough to dissuade you from purchasing a book, I strongly encourage you to avoid looking at such illustration information in other books these days.
Point 4: This books is currently listed at $13.46. Is that too much for a non-new story in picture book form? That likely depends on your plan for the book. If you're a hardcore Potter fan that has to have every last piece of HP merchandise...well, I guess you already have your answer. Are you hoping to gift the book to a young child uninitiated with the Harry Potter series, but who loves Christmas stories? Maybe consider purchasing it. This particular chapter is often mentioned as a top-three Christmas-based chapter among diehard Potterheads.
My final thoughts: I purchased this book to donate to my niece's elementary school library. I have no regrets, because I know it's going to be a popular book among the young kids every week and for years to come. Also, a friend of mine purchased this book for their home despite having older children who might leaf through it once and then move on. These friends have a family tradition where they put out a couple Christmas books every year as part of a festive decoration. Being big Potterheads, this book made too much sense. However, as an adult who considers himself an avid, if not diehard Harry Potter fan, I certainly wouldn't have purchased this book just to put it on my bookshelf. It's just not worth the money (whether $10, $13.46, or $19.99) for a story I can read by simply picking up my copy of Sorcerer's Stone and reading chapter 12.
I gave it 5 stars because the book and the story itself is fine. I fully knew what this product was going in, and I'd already seen a few of the illustrations, too. I'm not overly impressed by the art, but that's subjective and I don't need to be impressed with it in my particular situation. If you've seen the first Harry Potter movie but not read the book, I can tell you that this particular story does a good job reflecting the fun, magical feeling of that first movie.

I love HP, and I was excited when I found out that they made a children’s book AND Christmas book. I really wanted to get my toddler a Christmas book this year, and the fact that it was HP made it even better! The illustrations were absolutely amazing.

This Harry Potter children's book is a hit with my 1-year-old, and it's really enjoyable for me as well! The pictures are beautiful, large, and colorful, which really holds his attention. When I ask him which book he wants me to read, he always picks this one. He's mesmerized by all the interesting details in the illustrations. Just be sure to let him gently point at the pictures to avoid him grabbing the book and ripping it.

I love that the Christmas scenes in the original stories were broken down into its own book. Such a fun tradition to begin.

The target audience are kids below 10 years I believe and images have been designed accordingly without considering HP adult fanbase. Had huge expectations on illustrations but Illustrations are extremely simple and with less details and info. Minalima would have done it extremely better if their team had designed this.
