Great detail and lots of info on how it was made for and different uses

The book is in great condition. It could pass as new. Also, it arrived much quicker than expected. I’m very pleased.

Lots of photos not a lot of meat about the aircraft and crews.

This book is well done and quite interesting. One of best bombers of WW2.

Another excellent volume in this series. This is the first, of two, volumes devoted to the B-24. As always, the volume is illustrated with a wealth of well-curated photographs. An excellent overview of the earlier models of the B-24.

There is no comparative table of the B-24's evolving specifications. The nearest attempt is a brief synopsis of the B-24J which appears like a scanty figleaf on page 103 of volume 2. The table on page 95 of volume 1 on the B-17 Flying Fortress shows how it could and should have been done. Several existing photographs of the B-24 (and their captions) could have been deleted if necessary, at minimal if any loss.
Another gripe, while I'm in the mood: the Legends of Warfare series has never, in my experience, included detailed linear plans of the subjects in each review. This notwithstanding the books normally teeter on 5 stars...as far as I'm concerned. A better table of specifications would have vaulted this book in that direction.
That said, I am pleased own it: almost 19,000 B-24s were completed, the greatest number of any version of bomber in history-- ergo volumes 1 and 2 justify their space in my library.
