The keyboard is fast, snappy, and smooth to use. If you are familiar with icue and the Corsair ecosystem you will have no issues with this keyboard.

TL;DR - PRO: Great key sound and feel (wanted something more muted), Adjustable actuation, ROTARY volume! (their older scroll wheel ones tend to fail really easily due to dust and debris getting in the sensor), comes with wrist wrest/pad. VERY responsive. Overall build is super solid (i.e not plasticky or cheap feeling). Detachable USB-C to USB-A cable. Grippy underside makes sure your kb won't slide around. CONS: The magnets on the wristpad NEEDS TO BE STRONGER. No one needs a dedicated turbo or icue button, give back the dedicated media controls! Not really that bad but I wish it came with dual height adjustment feet. Flat feels off and when it's raised, it feels like it could use just a tiny bit more height. Full disclosure: I was coming from a Steel Series Apex 7 TKL OLED w/ Blue Clicky Tactile keys so I am mostly comparing my experience with that.

I have dabbled into trying magnetic keyboards to see how I would like them. An expensive endeavor, for sure, but worth it. I have the following HE / Magnetic boards: ASUS ROG Falchion Ace HFX MADE68 Pro EWEADN Battle68 IROK MU68 EPOMAKER HE75 GK GAMAKAY TK68 HE Out of all of them, the only ones that stood out the best was the Corsair K70 Pro TKL and ASUS ROG Falchion Ace HFX. See they have to fit specific characteristics for me. For gaming easy enabling SOCD and Rapid Trigger. Both of those keyboards do that with no problem. The ASUS ROG even more so than the Corsair, but I am not much of an iCUE hater as some; probably because I have built my whole gaming arsenal around Corsair, so I have learned to tolerate the pain (cries on the inside :D). Additionally, the other characteristic is the typing sound and feel. This and the ASUS ROG have this in bunches. Both come pre-lubed and have a great creamy and thocky sound to it. I require this because from my keyboards. Plus these keyboards meet my gaming and productivity needs, as some of my builds are used for work and play. This keyboard matches those requirements. I was not sure if I needed another Corsair keyboard as I have entirely too many as it is, but this was about as perfect for my requirements. Currently playing Delta Force and Call of Duty for my FPS needs and this keyboard is perfect for that. Quick and responsive! This is a blast to game on. If you're on the fence, jump off and take plunge. Corsair nailed it on this one!

This keyboard is fast, smooth, and well-built, but let’s talk about the real issue... no numpad. If you’re just gaming, sure, it’s great. But try entering numbers without a numpad and tell me how much fun that is. Oh, what’s that? You’re tabbing between the number row and arrow keys like some kind of peasant? Yeah, welcome to the club. That said, for a travel-friendly, high-performance keyboard, this thing is top-notch. The adjustable switches feel great, the build quality is solid, and the volume wheel while I thought it was meh actually I find myself using consistently. But Corsair, let’s be real… we know you could’ve squeezed in a detachable numpad. Maybe in the K70 Pro XL TKL Ultimate RGB MAX Edition or whatever name you come up with next.

It's a really of good quality. Noticeably more affordably than a well-known competitor in TKL keyboards. One caveat though is that Space button seems to not be well-lubricated so it's definitely louder than other keys. Otherwise, a high-end device.

The build quality seemed good. Nice and heavy. The wrist pad is nice. The keys move smoothly but once again icue is a crap program. The description to program the keys is vague and not user friendly. After some time I figured it would it with trial and error and it worked great for a day. I only programmed the “W” key to walk and run. I tried to make the “C” key to crouch and go prone but it was jenky. It would only go prone if you held the key down or tapped it just right. The next day I got online to play only to find out it wouldn’t run with the “W” key anymore. I had to reprogram the key again to make it work. Low and behold the next day it did it again. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the Icue multiple times to get it to work. Icue software is great for changing colors but that’s about it. If Corsair could build software as good as they build their products, I might buy their products again. Until then, I’m done trying to use Corsair if Icue is involved.

I've owned over 7 mechanical keyboards over the past 15yrs, premium to budget. This is by far the smoothest & most pleasant board I've bought & use out of the box, still havent installed iCUE 1 month in because ive had no need. Definitely worth the 199$ CAD.

Click to play video Always been a fan of corsair keyboards and this one is brilliant. Build quality is really top tier. If researching all the specs and cherry switches on different gaming keyboards drives you crazy then just know this feels AMAZING to type and play on. Absolute best part of the keyboard is actually pressing the keys. It's not loud or clicky at all, it feels crispy and satisfying while having the nicest dampened clicks. Touch typing is a breeze as each key press registers without applying much pressure while also not being too light that you're not sure if the press went off. You feel exactly when each key press is being registered while still being amazingly smooth. You can also edit how hard you need to press each key before it registers in the ICUE software. Coming from a super clicky keyboard which was starting to do my head in - the sound of each press on this is orgasmic. Turn volume up in the video to get an idea (won't be as good as in person). It's got that classic corsair aluminum solid look and feel. Also it's fairly heavy which makes it feel expensive rather which i love compared to the cheap plastic light weight keyboards. Haven't gone deep into the ICUE software yet and honestly don't really need to. Volume and media buttons are great, colors and options are great especially being able to change colors, brightness, effects and heaps more with pure keyboard shortcuts. Always had full sized keyboards but this totally changed my opinion on ten key less and smaller boards. Still includes the arrow keys so this is the absolute perfect size. I don't want to stop writing the review because typing is just so satisfying!!!!

Click to play video The keyboard sounds almost as good as my custom keyboard. No rattle, no bending, feels like it was made well.

I've been using a corsair keyboard of some denomination for gaming for a good few years now, and this latest offering does not let down whatsoever. Let me start with the one and only complaint I have about this- and bear in mind it's not enough to strip a star. I wish that it had the TKL layout of the regular K70. This one strips the top bar of the regular k70 that had things like volume and media control for compactness and instead slices away the Printscreen, scroll lock and pause break buttons to slot them in there. This loses some functionality like the full media controls (you only get the volume dial) and obviously you lose 3 buttons that you'll have to reprogram if you need. I could understand wanting to make it more compact, and it definitely is, but if they were going to do so I would have preferred they moved the insert/home/end group of buttons down and kept the 3 buttons. There is enough room above the arrow keys for it, after all. That being said, everything else about this keyboard is amazing. This is my first magnetic/hall effect board, and being able to completely customize your actuation point is absolutely amazing. To finally have a corsair keyboard with the functionality is everything I've been waiting for since things like rapid trigger came to my attention, and they nailed it already. Everything in ICue is easy to set up, and while really low actuation points can be difficult to do things like type with (when so much as touching a key registers a keypress), it's great for gaming, and so the gaming mode (which I usually ignore on keyboards) finally has an actual, undeniable use case for me. The lighting is as high end as on other keyboards I owned, which is great since I was a bit worried about it by the picture provided, and the keycaps are high quality, though they lack the extra wasd keys I'm used to from corsair, which was a little disappointing.. even if I rarely used those keys anyway. Overall, if you're a hardcore gamer you won't be disappointed by this keyboard. I wish I had been given the chance to receive the full sized one to fully replace my K100, but I am far from let down by this more compact option giving me more mousepad room for when I really want to lock in on a competitive gaming session. And really, how often do you use the numpad anyway? Overall this is a fantastic keyboard, and I know what I'll be recommending in the future to anyone looking for the best gaming keyboard one can buy.
