This book was suspenseful, well written and was very hard to put down. I am not a GMA book club person but this book caught my attention. I hope the author writes many more. I believe this is her first book.

I really enjoyed this thriller. It took some time to get into but after the first few chapters it just flowed very easily. The characters were likeable for the most part and the storyline was good. I didn't really like the ending, but overall would highly recommend.

Wow!!! Just finished this book tonight. I could not put it down. This book had everything you ever want in a book. Mystery, murder, love, hate, Jealousy, suspenseful. Unbelievable ending was the best. Definite page turner too. SOPHIE STAVA you should be so very proud of your first novel…thank you for giving me time away from my problems in life to enjoy it.

3.5 Stars! Oh boy, where do I even start with “Count My Lies” by Sophia Stava? This book is like that guilty pleasure rom-com you watch on a lazy Sunday—totally entertaining, even if it’s not exactly deep. So, here’s the scoop: Sloane Caraway is a pathological liar who can’t seem to tell the truth to save her life. She crosses paths with a wealthy couple and somehow lands a gig as their nanny. But surprise, surprise—the “perfect” couple is anything but, and things spiral out of control faster than you can say “lie.” Reading this felt like munching on a big bowl of popcorn—light, fun, and just what you need when you don’t want to overthink things. The characters? Well, let’s just say they’re not exactly the kind of folks you’d invite to your dinner party. But I guess that’s the point; their flaws make the story juicier. Now, about that ending… It wrapped up so neatly that it felt like a fairy tale. I mean, come on, it’s 2025! No way things would tie up that perfectly in real life. It was a bit too convenient for my taste. All in all, “Count My Lies” is a fun ride, even if it doesn’t leave a lasting impression. I’d give it a solid 3.5 stars. If you’re in the mood for some light drama and don’t mind suspending disbelief, give it a go.

She lies about pretty much everything. At the moment she is working as a manicurist at a salon. She lied to get the position. She used to work at a Montessori School, but got fired and with no references it is hard to get a job. She takes her breaks at a park and continues her lies when a young girl gets stung by a bee and her father doesn’t know what to do. She says she is a nurse and her name is Caitlin. Soon she is hired by the family - Violet and Jay Lockhart - to help with their daughter - Harper. But she is not the only one that lies Violet and Jay lie too.

Even if you solve an Agatha Christie novel with ease, you won' t figure this one out - The ending is a stunner.

Hot damn! What a twisted, twisted tale. From the very beginning of Count My Lies, I was drawn in by the deliciously unhinged premise that just got better with each page. Told in four increasingly shocking parts that turned everything inside out and upside down, the pile of lies grew right along with the page count. The truth, though, was what made this book sing. You see, thanks to a Gone Girl-esque vibe, I was positively hooked by the the unbridled deceit, underhanded manipulation, and well-hidden secrets that made this book into a multilayered treat for yours truly as they exploded into view. As for the storyline, it was both fast-paced and addictive. Told in chunks by multiple POVs, the story twisted and turned from each additional persona as they lended their individual perspectives. Giving an unguessable edge to this somewhat but pleasingly over-the-top plot, I happily held on for dear life as I flew through the pages. Did I predict some of these jaw-dropping twists? Well—yes. But that was most likely down to my incessant inhalation of anything and everything thriller. Even I, though, didn’t foresee that downright perfect conclusion. Both smile-inducing and triumphant, it just couldn’t have been better. All said and done, this debut tale of domestic suspense was packed full of plenty of morally gray characters in a well-plotted storyline that had no lack of sharp turns. Complete with distinct voices that filled out their personas as I read along, I was captivated by their individual dilemmas which only grew more complex with each passing page. It was the full picture, however, that had me at an utter loss for words. Now I’m on pins and needles to see what Ms. Stava comes up with next. Bingeable, head-snapping, and with a near pitch perfect plot, this masterclass in suspense will keep you riveted for sure as you fly through the pages in no time at all. Rating of 4.5 stars. P.S. Just a little forewarning that you should be prepared to not be able to put this book down. In fact, I read it in only a matter of hours without a single break to be seen. So you just might want to have all of your errands completed and a long stretch of free time in your future—otherwise you might just end up with a stack of unfinished chores as you ignore even your children.

This is an incredible novel. It is deliciously twisty! I always like being surprised by events in a novel and this one really packs a punch. Characters you care about and beautifully descriptive settings makes Count My Lies a 5 star read!

This book is a mess. Without revealing too much of the story line, let me just say that so many details are messed up or explained away that it detracts from what could’ve been a decent domestic thriller. This isn’t necessarily the fault of the writer. The editor could have steered them into tightening the story. It almost seems self published.
