The CUBICUBI 42” Ceiling Fans with Lights is a great addition to my home office. The size is perfect for my 12’x12’ space. Having 5 blades (instead of 3) is, to me, a plus for better air movement. Installation was relatively easy (completed in just over one hour, including the time to remove the existing ceiling light fixture), with decent instructions that include helpful illustrations. This unit is also rated for “outdoor” installation. The fan/light combo is a full featured unit. With six fan speeds (reversible) plus an LED Light fixture that can be both dimmed and adjusted to cool or warm light (or somewhere in-between). When running, the fan motor is virtually silent. Only the sound it that of air whooshing (especially at speed settings 4, 5 and 6). The brightness (power) of the light is not clearly stated anywhere in the description, the product instructions or on the box. One place shows the dimming feature to adjust the light from 200 Lumens to 2,000 Lumens. That would work out to the equivalent of about a 125w incandescent or 25w LED bulb. I can say that at max power, the room is sufficiently bright for most general tasks. This unit also includes a remote control (so there are no chains on the unit itself) for turning the fan on/off and adjusting fan speed and direction (this includes a “natural wind” mode, that randomly alters the fan speed every few seconds). The remote is also used for controlling the light: on/off, dimming/brightening and adjusting the light color temperature. The remote can also set a 1/2/4-hour timer that shuts off the fan and the light. There is also an App available that allows control of the unit from your phone. I am not basing my fan unit rating with any consideration of this App, as I find it rudimentary, with limited controls, and not very user friendly. Basic fan controls are possible, but only on/off for the light. I do not believe this fan can be connected to any smart home devices (e.g. Alexa). I did encounter one minor issue with the fan/light installation. When attaching the light fixture to the fan base and tightening the screws, the light housing was drawn up enough that it rubbed on the fan blade assembly. I had to add a washer to the screws to allow me to properly tighten the light and not have the rubbing issue. This may have just been a manufacturing flaw and I am not deducting any stars because of this issue. One final note: as a bonus, they included five activated carbon filters that are to be mounted to the top of each blade to act as “a powerful air purifier”. In my opinion, this is maybe a good idea, but the fact that they recommend changing these out every 2-3 months makes this very inconvenient and an added cost. Changing these out would need a ladder and a bit of time and $$$. Oh, and these filters are NOT available in the CUBICUBI store on Amazon! I opted to NOT install these on my fan blades. Overall, this fan meets all of my air circulation and lighting needs in my room. 5 STARS AND I DO RECOMMEND THIS ITEM I write honest reviews based on real life experience with each item to help others make informed purchases. I was pleasantly surprised and the nice quality of this fan. The fan can be a bit flimsy sometimes and not what you really want to go through all the trouble to install. All the parts are well made and the motor housing and the motor itself is good heavy duty materials The blades were also nice and solid. This is one of the only times I ever have mentioned the instructions. While not difficult to install, having well written instructions is a big plus. They really put some work into making this a pleasant experience to assemble. There is one thing you would need to know and that is how to wire the fan to your power. It's not just a plug. You need to do a little wiring. It is straight forward, but not something that everyone is comfortable with. If you are ok with that, than this should be a snap. Like most of these fans, at low speeds they are very quiet but get a bit louder at high speeds. It does move the air and I like NOT to feel such a breeze myself. So I use it on low most of the time anyhow, as I am using this in a bedroom. Included is a remote control, which you will need...so DON'T lose it. I don't know what would happen if it got lost. It might be a bit of a problem getting a replacement. There an app download that you can get and use to operate the fan, which is something I have only seen on this fan. A nice touch. But the remote a lot easier to work with. With all that in mind, I like this fan a lot. It looks stylish and functions smoothly. I think it's a pretty good price for the overall package. I just may get another for another room!

Summer is coming and my new apartment’s bedrooms lack floor space so I got this to save space beautiful ceiling fan for my bedroom. It has a slender appearance with a nice silver painted finish: I was expecting a brushed metal, but it still looks very nice. Installation took a bit longer than usual as it has a lot of parts, but not super complicated. Instructions were a little confusing in a couple spots causing me to install the bezel upside-down (see video). I did appreciate the smiley faces with comments in the instruction manual. The install was hampered by the cramped space: remote box and wiring requires chasing wires though a tight rod space and pushing the control box into a tight cradle before placing the ball joint into the cradle which had me concerned that I’d drop the fan while completing the task. One complete and turning it on I was pleasantly surprised at how balanced and quite it I was even at its highest setting. It’s a tad slow to respond to remote commands even with the antenna wire sticking out of the base, but to be fair I have found this to be common on all the different fans (5 of them) I’ve installed in my place. As for the build quality, it’s good, holes lined up and screws tightened without difficulty. Materials are of a good quality, but nothing stood out above my expectations. The charcoal pads installed on top of the blades are an interesting concept that leaves me puzzle on the physics of how it helps clean the air, but it does smell nicer after using the fan so I can only assume it’s the pads clean ing the air as room did have a slight odor. Also they didn’t affect the balance as I expected. The air flow is excellent as I mentioned operation is very quiet even at the highest speed. A common issue with ceiling fans for me is that the lights don’t dim down enough to create a soft mood, but it’s not a deal breaker as it is common for LED lighting I’ve found. Despite my difficulty with the install I think with the build quality, style, smooth quiet function, remote operation, and price point this fan is a great value for my money.
