Replaced my 28 year old food processor. It is quiet and definitely lighter in weight than my old Cuisinart. It is more compact making storing easier. Very durable and easy to put together and clean and take apart.

The one I received doesn't turn on. I bought it brand new and it won't turn on. I had to call Cusinart for them to help me reset the motor. It works now. I will update this if it stops working

First addressing the concerns of a previous reviewer about this 7 cup food processor not having a 950 watt motor. If you placed a 950 watt motor on a 7 cup food processor you would probably obliterate anything you tried to process in it. If you had a 14 to 16 cup processor that used a direct drive induction motor without any gearing like several do, then a 950 watt induction motor could work well, but is probably going to still be too powerful for the application. Also, you would have to expect to spend MUCH more on one of those machines and expect them to be very heavy. From an engineering perspective, a 350 watt motor is about perfect for the overall size and design of this appliance. As I don't cook for a commercial kitchen or a crowd of 16 people, this 7 cup food processor is perfect for my 2 person household. I think many people buy the huge, top of the line processors that come with a bazillion parts (and are more work to clean), then find they don't use them because they simply don't fit for what the average person needs to make themselves some food. I purchased this food processor to make smaller batches of hummus or bean dip from one can of beans. I also wanted it to puree up some bananas for a few baking recipes, grate a small amount of carrot and zucchini for muffin and bread recipes and make smooth sauces for the size dishes that the average person will actually cook at home. I have found for those practical tasks, in a small home kitchen that this machine is PERFECT. The engineers who designed this machine did a wonderful job making a machine that is practical for most of us cooking at home. It is very affordable, yet durable enough for the average kitchen, very easy to clean and stores easily and compactly in a lower kitchen cabinet. I like the seal of the lid and built in spindle that makes it pretty leakproof, as well as the very simple and just big enough feed tube (for carrots, zucchini, celery and cut to size items). Despite its 350 watt motor, it has been more than powerful enough for any task I have needed it for. I'm impressed with how fast it will make a batch of smooth hummus from one can of chickpeas etc, and is actually faster at this than the large expensive machines I've owned in the past and ended up hardly ever using. The only thing I don't like about this appliance is the loud high pitched noise it makes while running due to the gearbox inside the base, but is no worst than my Vitamix blender, KoMo grain mill or vacuum cleaners. I guess if I wanted to spend $400 on the same processor, it could quietly run on a heavy induction motor but for a VERY practical $99 machine, this thing is wonderful for what I need. So if you want a food processor you will actually use often, that will just work well, will be very easy to clean and store, is affordable and durable enough for us home cooks then I HIGHLY recommend this Cuisinart 7 cup model. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do.

The product works well once you can figure out how to lock the canister into the base. The canister is very tricky to lock which makes the whole chopping experience aggravating.

In a word....AWSOME! We had an old Kichen -aide that was always a hassle to set up, break down, and clean. This machine is superb. And it works so well!
