It is probably a little early to be writing a review for this product as I only purchased it about a month ago but to date, it has performed perfectly. It offers everything I need for a basic kitchen toaster and I am hoping it will last for years. I have other Cuisinart products and I am generally quite pleased with their performance.

I read a review on CNN, and this was voted the best toaster. I was skeptical because I've had about a thousand toasters, half of which worked properly. This toaster is everything the review said! It's easy to adjust and toasts everything just perfectly on whatever setting you choose. Amazing! I immediately donated the toaster I had. You can't go wrong with this toaster.

The toaster is wonderful. It taste evenly and to the desired shade you want, and the toasting time is less than you would think.

The Cuisinart CPT-142P1 does exactly what it promises—it toasts well, has good features, and has held up for two years with no issues. That said, for the price, I was hoping for a bit more in terms of build quality. ✔ Toasts Evenly & Has Good Features – The shade control settings work well, and I like the bagel and defrost options. ✔ Compact & Clean Design – It looks good on the counter and doesn’t take up too much space. The cord wrap underneath is a nice little detail. ✖ Very Plastic Feel – The listing says "plastic," and it definitely feels plastic. I wish they had a slightly more premium option with metal or ceramic. Overall, it’s a solid toaster that works exactly as advertised, but for the price, I just expected it to feel a little nicer. 4 out of 5 stars. Maybe I'm just too picky.

Working good so far. It's light weight, easy to use, and toasts bread, muffins, bagels good to what lightness or darkness you want. The white looks nice. Seems to be a good quality toaster that does the job.

All I want is a properly toasted slice of bread. Toasters I’ve owned recently in my search for a decent slice of toasted bread include: Dualit (yah their flagship), Breville (a bit more 4 slice), Cuisinart CPT 142P1, Waring, Elite Gourmet ECT 3100, Breville Mini Smart Toaster Oven, Breville BTA830XL, and a few others. Why so many? NONE WORK AT ALL!!! I returned almost all of them, some I took into my back yard and beat into shattered pieces. All I want is a properly toasted slice of bread. It begs credulity I know, most all of these toasters pop up on some list somewhere as the Best of the Best. I fell for the phony reviews I guess. Because Not one of them performed like the glowing YouTube reviews I’ve seen; not one, not once, not the first time, not any time. I know why they don’t work. Marketing, Marketing and greed. Well I suppose that’s redundant. The toasters of yore (from when I was a kid) had wrinkled waffle bent heating elements that glowed red. The wrinkles increased the Nichrome heating element’s surface by some thing like three time the distance they actually spanned. So the elements produced a lot more infrared heat radiation. This of curse meant that the manufacturers were using three times as much nichrome wire for their heating elements AND they stood proud of the heat resistant backing. That second thing made it possible for them to actually glow red. If the wire is laying snug against the backing they lose all their energy into the backing and can’t get hot. NONE of the modern toasters use that waffle bend wrinkled heating elements and all of them pull the wore tight enough that they lay snug against the backing. This means that there is no possible way they can generate enough heat to properly toast slices of bread. What’s a boy to do? Well I just ordered $500 commercial HATCO 4-slice toaster that requires 240 VAC to run. I installed a 240 line in my kitchen. IT WORKS~!!!! There is a God~!!!

Works very well! It took a couple of tries to find my preferred setting for toast, but it came out well. Nice, even toasting. Can't say that about my last toaster. The mechanics of the toaster seem to be very good. I've used it a numner of times in the 2 weeks I've had it. No negative issues at all so far. I may see if I can find a toaster cozy to cover it when not in use.

8 years later. We still use it. All functions still work and we still use all functions on it. Toasting evenness over the years has gone from even throughout to even about 4/5 through with the other 1/5 being close. I really enjoy how I can pull up on the levers to pop out my toast a little more. It still looks nice and cleans up easily.

Bought this based on a Wirecutter recommendation of value for money. So far, so good. It will toast a dense slice of sourdough fresh from the fridge in one go, which is what we were looking for. Toasters just don’t last the way they used to, so no high hopes for longevity, but fresh out of the box, it works just fine.

I have had this product for about a year. The left handle is very hard to get down. It seems to catch on something and I often have to try a couple of times. It’s bad enough that I wish I could return it but my window has closed. The overall quality apart from that is good. My only comment would be that slightly wider slots would be better.

I operate a bed and breakfast so I need a fast and efficient toaster. I have been using an expensive Lagustina brand which cost twice as much as this Cuisinart. I got tired of waiting and waiting for the toast to finish so I recently bought this unit. My new Cuisinart is perfect. Not only did it toast 3 minutes faster than my old unit, the buttons are easy to read - especially the cancel button. More expensive does not mean the unit is better. The coils heated up immediately after depressing the lever. Thank you Cuisinart.

Evenly toasts your bread on both sides. I bought one for the cottage and it worked so well, I bought a second one to replace the one at home.
