Mixing - The two speed operation is handy. For making soups, you can do most of the job on low speed, even with chunky vegetables. This makes it easier to control how thick the final product is, and it makes for less possibility of splash-ups. The switch feel is sure (good tactile feel). The blade is stocky and sharp - it looks like it's built for business. I blended a large pot of tomato black bean garlic soup down in under 30 seconds. Motor - Plenty of power. It's quiet compared to my last blender (especially on low), which was 3x the price. I cannot comment on durability yet, as this is a new model. Size/weight/feel - Hefty, but not heavy. It has a quality feel with a nice balance. If it were too light, it would feel cheap. Cord - Long enough to get the job done, but not too long to make wrapping up the cord a hassle. Assembly/Cleaning - Easy to attach/detach. The lock-up feels solid. So far, there's little mechanical play in the interface. It's very easy to clean by hand if you don't wait for it to dry up. I've grown to like Cuisinart products. It looks like they have a winner here. 4/10/2013 update - I've had this for several months now, and I can say the concern about the plastic gear on the prior version does not appear to be an issue on this design. I've used it dozens of times and there is not a hint of wear. Bumping to 5 stars. It's one of my favorite kitchen tools. 11/17/2013 update - Still going strong. This is my single favorite kitchen tool, and I have lots of them. It's the best combination of usefulness and fun factor. So nice not to have to drag out the food processor for so many tasks any more. I just made a super creamy hummus (in the can, no less) in under five minutes. Fast, yummy, inexpensive and so easy to clean up afterwards. 2/4/16 update - This is my *favorite* kitchen gadget ever. My latest 'discovery' is you can make a fool proof mayo with this puppy. I will use this till it dies (some day), then I will buy another one just like it. 3/3/2016 update - well that's the end. After three years of regular use, it's time to get a new one. Very high gear noise, and I'd give it another month tops before it destroys itself. If this is the current model, I will gladly get a replacement.

This is a great item...I use it constantly. At this point I have owned this immersion blender for 6 months, using it several times a week. This great tool has sent my Cuisinart food processor (previously the star of the kitchen) to a hidden corner of a lower cabinet, where it rarely sees the light of day. My son loves smoothies, but before I got this blender, I hated making them because the food processor was a huge mess to clean up. Plus, the processor's blades are very sharp, and must be washed separately. I am clumsy enough that I am fearful of a deep cut every time I wash those blades. It has not happened yet, but I fear it still may. When I bought this immersion blender, I was concerned about some of the issues raised by other reviewers for similar blenders... mainly the broken plastic gearings of the motor handle. I have had no problems at all with that. I can only assume that the users were trying to grind up hard objects, such as ice, by putting downward pressure on the blade head against the bottom of the provided processing beaker. I am careful that I do not process hard objects, but honestly I think it could probably handle that too. I would say hold the blade head above the bottom and let the blades churn the ice, thus avoiding applying heavy pressure to the motor unit. But, then, I avoid using ice anyway. TIPS -- 1. Easy storage. I wrap the cord around the motor handle and put it on the shelf, then put the blade arm in the beaker and put that next to the motor on the same shelf. All is very light, compact and occupies very little space. 2. Easy cleanup. Compared to the food processor, this is night and day. I drop the blade head in water as soon as I am done, to let it soak. When I clean up, I wash the beaker like any cup (it's clear plastic, so do not use abrasive wash pads) then put the wash pad tip in the blade head, twist it a few times and then rinse it. This keeps my fingers away from the blades, and still cleans up perfectly. No cut fingers! 3. A tip for usage. When I first began using the blender, I would plug it in, insert it into the cup and begin blending the food. Often, I would stop to add additional ingredients (leaving the entire blender upright in the beaker) then resume processing. I found that sometimes the weight of the cord on the motor handle could cause the whole blender to tip over, spilling the beaker's contents ... big mess! Since then, I press the rear release button to remove the motor section, but leave the blade arm still in the beaker. Then I snap the top half (the motor half) back in place when I am ready to resume blending. This works very well. It only takes one or two spills to see the benefits of this approach. I can't say enough good things about this blender. I really really like the whole idea of an immersion blender and this one is very good. I had never even heard of immersion blenders until I came upon a recipe that specified the use of one. I was puzzled, so I looked it up, bought this one, and will never go back.

I love the Cuisinart blender we have in the USA, which is why I ordered this one (at 3 times the price) for use in the UK. But what came was a standard US blender, that requires a 120v 60Hz power supply. It even came with a US plug, which at least saved me from plugging it in and blowing it up.

Very well built, and blends vegan chili way better and faster than I thought it would. So much easier doing in the pot than transferring to the blender. Wasn't quite sure what to expect the first time so I tried it on low for about 30 - 40 seconds and BAM! done! A full large slow cooker pot of vegan (bean) chili blended up perfectly. Next time I would only do it for about 20 seconds to leave a chunkier texture. I'm imagining the High setting would absolutely pulverise stuff. Overall very impressed with it's build quality, ease of use and power. If I don't update this in a few months it's because it has continued to be excellent!

Se ve de bu na calidad. Me gusta para hacer salsa Italia Ana y moler directo en la olla. El equipo tiene un botón de seguridad en la parte de arriba que hace difícil el manipularla con una sola mano.

Good power, and the button on the top that has to be pressed is a good safety guard. I find sometimes I have to keep the safety button pressed all the while blending. That doesn’t happen often, and I think it must be because what I’m blending is done being blended? Not certain on that, but like I said, it doesn’t happen often. Other than than that, it works great - in a deep pot of hot soup to be puréed to sauces, or smoothies.
