It's sturdy enough to keep a Shepard and a husky out of the room to give the cats freedom to come and go but have a space they can't be bothered by the dogs. It was super easy to setup and stretches across the door perfectly. Works great!! Don't forget it does have a locking feature that stiffens it up so when pushed against it isn't going anywhere. Just like the traditional baby gates but rolls up for less space used.

Great gate to block doorways. Was easy to install, very sturdy and stable. However nothing against the gate but it didn't serve our purpose because my cats are arse hats. We purchased gate to be able to feed new 3 month old rescue kitten in the bathroom, but still let him and the other cats be able to see each other. The 5 lb 3 month old climbed over it - hence high stability rating. And my 12 lb beast figured out how to crawl under it with out knocking it down - hence sturdy rating

Click to play video Arrived by Amazon as expected. I'm a very "consistent" shopper. This product has not disappointed. It was as of described very easy installation. It looks good and does what I needed to do. I do have train dogs I'm sure if you have one that is mysterious and horse coil Pandora child the same they could probably rip it up with some work. My dog know that barriers me do not cross. This is going to be so great for what I want to keep them out of certain areas especially is when visitors come over and then maybe don't want dogs around. I definitely recommend this for anyone needing to block off an area for a rather a pet or a child. The lock is very easy to use it's a great value for the money. I followed the instructions and drilled and screwed in as instructed very it is very sturdy. Size is perfect and the push button makes it easy to take off. Update after having for a while: I have down graded my to 4 stars. The gate itself is nice. All i stated before about installation etc stands. The issue is as I have read other reviews the dogs and children that are persistent WILL go under the gate. The three dogs i have, only one is determined. It never fails when he decides he wants through his 65lb self goes right underneath. I currently have grandchildren visiting from out of state. One climbs over the younger two go right underneath. It is suggested that there be a way to secure the bottom better so it is not so easy to raise/move.

I wanted a gate to keep my dog out of two carpeted bedrooms but I wanted them to be easily moved out of the way when not needed. As my dog is older and not so determined to get to a place anymore, I didn't need anything super sturdy. I had two of the more traditional kind of gates (kept in a doorway by tension, not hardware) but when I didn't need them they had to lean against a wall or try to fit them in a closet. I wanted something that just "disappeared." These retractable gates fit my requirements perfectly! They are very easy to install. They come with a template for the mounting hardware placement but I found it easier to just measure. They are easy to open and close with two hands but are a little awkward, but doable, with one hand. I cannot speak to how durable or resistant they would be for someone or something that was determined to get through (or over) them, but they work well as a deterrent. I have had them installed for about 4 months now and open and close them nearly every day and they still work great. I would definitely recommend these and I would buy them again if the need arises.

The hardware that comes with this gate is nowhere near sturdy enough for a safety gate. Gate is described as 34” tall, but is actually only 30” so it was not tall enough to keep my dog from jumping it. I think the mechanism works nicely, but is difficult to operate one handed and is just not worth the holes in the walls!

One year later and it is still in great shape. We use it everyday a few times a day to cover the basement stairs. Easy to install and strong. Clean design not a mess. My cat can get under it so that’s nice. My medium size dog can not get around it so it helps keeps kids and pets out.
