Worth it. After having problems with the free rosin that came with the violin, after problems with the next two sets of rosin we purchased, we finally came across this one. And to be honest, before grabbing this rosin we weren't sure if the problem was with the prior rosins or the bow and bought a second bow that alleviated the sound quality - but after applying this rosin, both bows work wonderfully and sound great. In fact, I like the original bow now that the rosin gives a proper grip on the strings. It's also much easier to apply due to the rubber guard on the sides. Seems to last too.

The bumper guard is AMAZING 🤩 MUCH NEEDED!! We have dropped and broken so many already and this bumper makes it not break at all.

Nice light color. After applying only two passes rosin has my bowing sounding perfect. The shape, size and outer casing for grip makes easy to apply without slipping. No excessive dust left behind and stayed solid. no crumbling or cracking.

I’ve been playing the violin for a while now, and finding a good rosin that’s both easy to use and effective can be a bit of a challenge. This one caught my attention because of its simple design and how well it grips the bow hair. The first time I used it, I noticed that it went on smoothly without making a mess, which is always a plus. Some rosins can be too powdery or sticky, but this one sits in a nice balance between the two. The packaging is simple but practical. The grip makes it easier to hold, which is something I didn’t think about much until I used rosins without it. It definitely helps, especially when I’m in a rush before a lesson and need to apply it quickly. What stands out to me is how consistent it is. Some rosins wear down unevenly or get flaky over time, but this one has held up well. I don’t have to reapply too often, and when I do, a few strokes are enough to refresh the bow. That makes a difference when I’m going through long practice sessions and don’t want to keep stopping to add more rosin. Another thing that makes it great for me is how compact it is. It fits easily in my case, so I don’t have to worry about misplacing it. I’ve had larger rosins before, and they tend to take up unnecessary space. This one is simple and convenient. When it comes to performance, I’d say it does its job well. The bow catches the strings smoothly, and the sound is clear without feeling too harsh. It works well for both slow, expressive pieces and faster passages where I need a bit more control. I also like that it doesn’t leave too much dust on my instrument, which means less cleaning after practice. The only thing I’d say is that the plastic holder feels a little flimsy. It hasn’t broken on me yet, but I do wonder how well it will hold up over time, especially with frequent use. Still, for the price and the performance, I think it’s a solid choice.

Ever thought about taking a violin bow to your guitar strings? Neither did I, until I did. And let me tell you, it's like finding out your coffee machine can also make perfect pizza. Sounds bizarre, tastes incredible. Here's the scoop: I took this violin rosin, typically the trusty sidekick of violinists far and wide, and introduced it to my guitar via a bow. Yes, a bow. It's like deciding to ride a horse to work instead of driving—unconventional, yet surprisingly majestic. Applying this rosin to the bow before serenading my guitar strings has been a game-changer. The rosin acts like a motivational coach for the bow, giving it the grip and friction it needs to pull soul-stirring melodies out of the guitar. The result? Notes that sing with a clarity and resonance you just can't coax out with traditional plucking or strumming. It's as if my guitar has discovered its operatic voice, hitting notes that vibrate with an emotional depth I hadn't unearthed before. And here's where it gets fun. There's a certain rogue pleasure in cross-pollinating musical techniques, like a mad scientist mixing elements to create something new. Using violin rosin on a bow for the guitar feels like breaking the rules for all the right reasons, turning every strum into an experiment that ends in an auditory feast. So, for those adventurous souls who dare to bow their guitars, this violin rosin is your secret weapon. It's the passport to a new realm of musical expression, where guitars don't just strum or pick; they sing with the soul of a string quartet. In the end, this violin rosin and my guitar bow have formed an alliance that's nothing short of revolutionary. It's not just playing music; it's about crafting an experience that's as unique as putting pineapple on pizza—unexpected, a bit controversial, but utterly delightful. 10/10, would bow my guitar into musical bliss again."

I like the width of the holder. It fits securely in my hand. I felt this was a very good value for the money.

I could rosin a new bow in 2 mins with this even though it was my first time handling a violin. It doesn’t come in a hard case though. Easy to handle and very effective in rosining.
