What an awesome deal - 2 20 Volt lithium batteries and the drill for about $90. I have used it for about a month and it works every bit as good as my old DeWalt drill. I have been working for over 5 years on an old 1940 Buick that was left in the elements for 30+ years in Connecticut. I know, I know, no one is that slow, but I welded in now floor pans, body brace supports, new rocker panels, sand blasted frame, motor mounts for an LS3 crate engine, transmission mounting bracket, new independent rear suspension, gas tank mounts for a new gas tank, etc. Any way lots of use on the old DeWalt drill. Had it about 10 years. So about 2 years ago one of the 2 batteries went bad so I ordered a new lithium battery for the old unit: $120 for a battery and new charger that would handle the old and new batteries. Now the drill quits. Check it out on the web: not new brushes, NO, you need to replace the motor for about $55. That's bad! I took it apart and the brushes rubbed on copper contacts that were all worn away. NO copper lerft. So I started checking because I had just picked up a cheap drill from the Harbor guys for less than $20 for the house but it only came with one battery. They have a 20V lithium drill but not 2 batteries. No good way to get 2, so I found the DeWalt drill, 2 20 Volt lithium batteries, a nice canvas zipper case with the charger. I got it!! It is working great and has all the features of the old drill plus an LED light that comes on when you tap the trigger, and stays on for about 12 seconds after you stop drilling. Photo shows the old one with the lithium battery and the new on on the right. Buy it you'l love it. Lighter, batteries last longer, the light helps, and it feels comfortable in the hand.

I have been using more than 3 years now this screwdriver and every time when I take it into my hands, I feel bond with it. It never lets me down. Very powerful, rigid, reliable and long lasting battery. Thanks to this purchase I shifted all my power instruments to DeWalt.

We've always used DeWalt tools in our family. Never really knew why but now I do. Even at this relatively low price point, the quality of tool you get is leaps and bounds ahead of other similarly priced products. Plus you get two batteries, which alone almost sell for the price of this whole kit. My only gripe is that this drill doesn't have a metal chuck. That said, the plastic one it does have feel super high quality. It also has serious power and seems to last for a long time. The batteries also charge fast enough so that when you run out of juice, you can put the battery on the charge, use your second battery, and by the time that one is out of power your first battery will be fully charged. Very nice. I've had this for almost year now. I'd say it has about 20 hours of total run time on it from driving screws and drilling wood and metal (not much to a professional but to a homeowner that's alot). Hasn't shown any signs of slowing down yet and the batteries have continued to hold a good charge, both through use and storage. I whole heatedly recommend this to anyone who plans to do any medium-large scale work on a non-professional level. 10/10 would buy again.

I’ve had this drill for almost two years now. It’s got a great battery life and is durable. The charging time for batteries is insanely quick as well. It saved my life the other day. I was mounting wall boards in a small clinic using toggle bolts. I was drilling through an interior wall and hit what I thought was a metal stud. I decided to drill through it and use the toggle anyway. As soon as I pierced the metal it was like a firework went off in my face and the power to the building went out. Turns out there was an electric panel on the other side of the wall and that was not a metal stud. The drill bit had created a short from the backing of the panel to the lug. Tripped the breaker and everything but I was thankfully okay. This drill is well insulated and saved my life. Otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this review.

I've been using this drill every day since I got it almost 2 weeks ago, to drive 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" construction screws to frame out some walls. The batteries have been lasting a good long time considering the use they're getting. Charging is quick enough that I haven't had to stop and wait for a battery to finish charging. The drill seems to have all the power and torque I need, although I haven't tried using it for any heavy duty drilling yet. I'm hoping it'll be able to handle drilling holes with a paddle bit through a couple of 2x4s so I can run wiring without having to use an extension cord in a crawlspace anymore. That's been the one shortcoming of the Ridgid drill I've been using the past couple of years, and the biggest reason I've come back to Dewalt. I did drop this drill from a stepladder, onto a concrete floor today, and it landed hard enough to send the screwdriver bit flying out of the bit holder. But when I picked it up and put the bit back in, it worked fine and hadn't shown any damage. As far as ergonomics, most of the cordless drills I've used over the past 10 years or so have been pretty comfortable to work with. This one is no exception. The keyless chuck has been flawless so far. But I haven't used it with any small drill bits yet. I also really like the built in LED worklights. They work very well, and are located where they actually shed light on the project without being completely blocked out by your hands as you try to work, which is what always seems to happen with my old Makita. I don't care for the charger, which feels cheap and is a PITA to get the batteries in and out of compared to every other one I've ever used. And I've been using cordless drills a lot since the late 80s. The other thing I'm not crazy about is the carrying bag that comes with the kit. It seems to be sturdy enough. But I have to take the battery out of the handle to fit the drill into it. And it's still like a puzzle to get my drill bits and the drill, charger and batteries in and get the zipper to close. I'm happy that Dewalt does still include the bag with this drill kit, since some others don't give you anything at all. But this bag would not have been my first choice for this drill kit. First of all because it's hard to get everything to fit into it at all, and also because you have to take everything out of it to find anything because you can't see into it very well. Everything gets put together like a puzzle to get it in, which means it's just as much of a pain to get it out. It's also an awkward shape that doesn't allow it to fit neatly into my truck with my other drills. I much prefer the flat rectangular drill bags that allow me to arrange everything easily inside the bag and then fit into a smaller space standing on edge. In all, I'm very happy with the tool itself. And as long as the charger doesn't crap out on me, I can live with the other minor inconveniences because the drill is a pleasure to work with.

Staying true to the DeWalt brand quality, I've never looked back on light duty drills since making this purchase. Got me the titanium drill bits of matching make. Hoping to get a lot more power tools from them.

Actually a gift for my son's birthday. I expect nothing but the finest tools from DeWalt and they have never failed to deliver. You can certainly find cheaper tools, but it's always safer and smarter in the long run to stick with DeWalt!
