I purchased the item to cut a large piece of carpet to pieces I could carry. I cut against the fiber matting. It cuts like butter and I saved about 30 minutes of time if I used a utility knife. Buy one before you need it because it’s just a matter of time till you do. Oh we did cut vinyl siding just to test it. Worked awesome

I love this thing! The only thing I ever use it for is cutting caulking along baseboard, door and window casing, around sinks etc... It works perfectly! Perfect straight cuts, very easy to use! Stays sharp! I will be buying this product again and again! I'm a contractor, specifically I own a high-end remodeling company. Since I remodel, I cut a lot of caulking and I always hated pulling out my razor knife, putting in a new blade. Then using both hands, one to push the blade into the material and the other to pull and always making a long squiggly line down a piece of baseboard or casing. It drove me nuts!! Now, of course I could've made nice perfect straight cuts that way, but it was very time consuming to do so... Now I pull out the oscillating tool, put on this blade and very easily and very quickly make perfect quick one cut through cuts!! I really love this tool!!!

This thing works great for slicing through soft materials. Really expands the usability of the oscillating tool. The tips are a little easy to damage so dont drop or bump them on hard surfaces. I plan to remove carpet with it soon so it will get a lot of use then.

Used to remove swimming pool mastic. Got out the bulk. Had to go back in some spots with a 5 n 1

Last year we removed 500 sq feet of carpet from our first floor using a carpet knife. Super sharp, frequent blade changes, and my hand cramped up several times. This multi tool blade cut through the carpet in a 20 x 19 room quickly and easily. I was hesitant to buy this blade after I read several reviews on amazon saying the blade wouldnt cut carpet at all. I had trouble at first. You have to hold the blade at a certain angle. Once you find that sweet spot it just sails through the carpet. There may be some defective blades out there resulting in those bad reviews. I cant say, i only bought one. As for durability it worked in this 20x19 room from start to finish without a problem but thats a small project.

I was in the process of replacing the roll roofing on a 20x14' shed and was using a utility knife to cut the material. This proved to be very difficult and time consuming, the aggregate on the roofing quickly dulled the knife blades, which I had to change frequently. So, part way through the job, I discovered this blade attachment for my Rigid multi tool. It fit perfectly, and worked amazingly well. I quickly trimmed all 4 sides of the shed roof with it and it showed no sign of dulling. Note: it is possible to mount the blade upside down, which is what I did initially. This makes holding your multi tool in the proper angle more difficult. Also, I found that pushing the tool rather than pulling made it easier for me to follow the drip edge of the roof. If you are doing any roofing project and you have a multi tool, this blade will do the job. Highly recommended.

I used this to trim some carpet and pad back that I need to remove to add some Tile. I wanted to disrupt the carpet as little as possible and this worked great. Could have probably done this with a hand held utility knife but this bade worked great and was quick. Allowed for great control. Was not an overall big job but I will be glad I have this in my tool kit for future needs.

Does exactly what it’s intended for but not much else. I bought a couple of these to do an asphalt roof on a large shed and these things work great for cutting and trimming the asphalt tiles. I use my oscillating tool on a regular basis at least every other day or so for a number of different purposes cutting sanding etc. but I’ve pulled This blade out a few times to try to do some things like cutting carpet and the other things and it doesn’t seem to do much else very well. But use it for us intended purpose and it works like a charm

I used this to shingle two roofs with architectural asphalt / fiberglass shingles this summer. These were the shingles that are 2 layers thick in some spots and also have a hard to cut fabric strip that you nail through meaning they are quite difficult to cut with a manual shingle cutting blade. This thing just cut through the shingles like it was a hot knife cutting through butter. At first I found it hard to steer but that is because I had it set at the wrong angle on the osculating multi tool. The key is to adjust the angle so just a small amount of the blade is in the shingle at any time that way you can go strait or turn easily. As you cut the shingles and the blade slowly wears down the pebbles on the shingles rubbing on the sides of the blade seem to automatically sharpen it as you go so it always stays sharp. It is also supposed to be designed for cutting other materials such as carpet and linoleum. I expect it would cut well with those materials as well but I haven't tried it for that yet. Every roofer should have one of these and a battery powered osculating multi tool.
